One word ~ MAGNIFICO! I was in the area taking my mother to Shand’s. My brother picked this place for our holiday gathering. Mumsie and I walked in around 5pm and told the hostess there would be 7 in the party. She said “ok” and walked off. Moments later a magical, blue eyed, chef walked up to the hostess station. He asked if we had been helped and I responded yes. When he asked how many in our party and I stated 7 he asked “Do you have a reservation?” 😵‍💫 Since I do not live in the area I had no clue it was a UF graduation day and they would be slammed. I grabbed my phone to let my brother know who was en route. The chef returned and said “follow me” in his authentic Italian accent. I was worried when he took us to the patio since I was already freezing and my mother is up in age. However, this wonderful chef sat us and then gathered heaters for the area without us even saying a word. By the time my family arrived the patio was warm enough for me to take my sweater off. We had a wonderful and caring waitress, Hannah, I believe her name was. She was remarkable. Some people were just born to serve others with a caring spirit and she does just that with every customer. I told her I was interested in ordering a couple of pizza’s to-go since I live so far away and wanted to try them. She said she would bring me a special menu (see pics) wherein I could order BOGO on everything in case I wanted to try other dishes as well. Wait, did she say BOGO? So glad she shared that info. Everyone at my table ordered something completely different and we were all blown away. Perfection from the coffee to the homemade vinaigrette and everything in between. One of the BOGO’s I ordered to go was a cheese and eggplant. This was truly my favorite from crust to tip. As you can see I could go on and on about this caffè. I will be stopping in every time I am in the Alachua area with Mumsie. I have shared this place with anyone who travels to the Gainesville area (Go Gators)!! I recommend calling and making a reservation just in case you wish to sit inside. When we left that evening there was a line of people happily waiting in the cold for their table. When you have a genuine heart to serve others you will be rewarded. 🍕😍 🇮🇹

Very good small Italian Cafe. Very worth the stop. Definitely will have to add to list of place to go while on the road. You can tell everything is made there.

This must be the best Italian food in Gainesville. They have great lunch and dinner specials daily. Their pizza, salads, and pastas are tasty. Ingredients are fresh and portions are big! My favorite is their chicken pecan salad with their house dressing; I highly recommend! Take out customer service was not the best - despite rude behavior, I recommend Pomodoro’s Cafe for delicious Italian food. Will probably dine in next time.

Exceptional food at very reasonable price. If you have never eaten here you Must give it a try. If you Dine before 5:30 PM do not over look there $12.99 diner specials: your choice of about 8 enters, soup or salad & desert, plus 2 for 1 wine. My wife & I dine out we both were impressed with the quality, presentation & service at the Pomodoro Cafe.

This used to be the place I would recommend to my friends. What a shame... ***Hot tip: Make sure they have your order, before letting them charge you. They might not ever make it.*** Nice system in place: They call over the next one in line for takeout, and when I step up she starts taking care of a person from dine-in... He was at least 90, so no worries... It would be her place to let him know people are waiting in line. She didn't. No system in place: Ordering online at 17:24... it is now 18:43 and they forgot to make my pizzas, for a second time...When I paid at 18:06 they told me they hadn't started half my order. I understand but don't want to bring my kids cold dinner. The "my first job ever" waitress looked befuddled when I asked her to remake the half of the order that would be cold, when the rest was finally ready. She said she could put on the heat lamp. I thought that was funny... no microwave? Lol. After asking her to just refund me instead, started looking under the counter and generally appeared confused like she was looking for her car keys. I should have just let them have the money... 2nd chances: I sat down defeated and when McManager arrived I told him I would just wait for the pizza. But, the joke was on me... They didn't make the pizza again... Almost an hour and a half later... they pass off this sad slimy pie... and a white pizza with all the toppings piled in one spot. The best joke of my visit. You cannot make this kind of stuff up: Manager guy wanted to make it right by taking off 5 bucks... Rofl... I didn't ask for this although I would really rather not buy any Pizza with a big "Fv<% You" baked in... (Edit: After looking at my statement the charge was refunded fully. I am not sure what exactly transpired, other than maybe he was suggesting taking off the $5.00, but thought differently when I totally ignored the absurdity.) Here is my donation, on top of my extra hour spent waiting: A 5 minute review... to give the 5 bucks back. You get what you pay for.

Food and wine was perfect. If there was anything to change in my control it would have been to lower the lights and turn up the music to create a more romantic atmosphere. Love this place!!!

This place is frequently cited as my friend’s favorite place to eat. Wow does it live up to their recommendations! The desserts are great, the specials are impressive, and it’s a great treat to have on a Saturday night.

My bride and I have frequented this establishment since they have opened and not the first time have we been disappointed with the atmosphere or the meal. We have treated many of our friends to a meal here and it was a discovery for all of them. The waitstaff is absolutely the best, well trained and curtious, giving due diligence to each client. The meals are well thought out and prepared to perfection. They even have an early bird special that provides more than enough tasty food for the hardiest of appetites. If you try them once, you will be back.

Very delicious Italian food. I had the Mix Grill with Skirt Steak, Salmon, Chicken, Shrimp and for my sides I got brocollini and roasted rosemary potatoes. Everything was SO DELICIOUS. My friend had Frutti de Mare Seafood Combo with Cedar Key Clams, mussles, scallop, and shrimp with spaghetti. The tomato sauce was amazing. The classico imported pasta was so good. We also ordered glasses of red wine- House Cab and Regular Chianti. It was not the best but for the price, it was good with the meal. I highly recommend this place and they always have a lot of specials that changes from week to week. Their pizza also smells so good from the next table but we were full, maybe next time.

Great spot on the northwest side of Gainesville. More of Italian restaurant than a cafe but incredible decor, inside and outside seating available. High end menu but very fair prices. Food was delicious, glutenfree options available and marked on the menu. Service was outstanding, we had incredible time.

Excellent food and fantastic server. The veil was great, the crab cakes were delicious and the portobello mushroom fries were outstanding. We had a nice bottle of wine, and ordered dessert to go. We will definitely be back. The only downside was the fact the bus boy did not care to be there or take pride in his job, the servers picked up the slack for him. Other than that this is a great restaurant with great food and excellent service.

I've only had take-out so far so I can't speak on the service or atmosphere but I heard that both are great. The food is absolutely top tier and I love everything I have tried!

My sister and I attended a birthday lunch here in April and stopped in again last week for lunch. They have a huge selection of lunch specials. Last time we ordered the seafood special (very good) and the cauliflower crust pizza (surprisingly delicious). This time I ordered 1/2 steak and cheese sandwich and soup while my sister had the lasagna and grilled vegetables. Once again we both enjoyed our selections. Each lunch with a drink was between $12 - $15 plus tip. They also offer a number of BOGO items, subs, pizzas, etc. So my sister was able to pick up dinner to take home with her. We were too full for dessert, but it looked delicious. Our servers were great both times - attentive, pleasant and efficient. NOTE: Their bread is complimentary and delicious!!!!

Had dinner tonight, for my husband's birthday. We chose the Early Extravaganza with the Madeira gnocchi and seafood valentino. Both were quite good and we brought home 1/2 for leftovers since we got bread, salad, sand dessert with the deal. Restaurant was full and take out orders were constant. We will go back.

The food was amazing. You get bread with a balsamic dressing before your meal. Staff are very polite, but did take a little more time to get the food. The staff made up for it by being very attenative otherwise and all have great personalities. Mom and pop vibe, so I support that! Def worth the wait.

My family enjoyed the Pomodoro Cafe. My favorite dish was the Tuscan Crab Cakes. This was a unique twist on a traditional crab cake. The meat lovers pizza was delicious. We will definitely be back really soon!

A beautiful restaurant decorated with murals on the walls and ceilings sort of like Italian. The food is great, the service is great, and it has some even greater desserts. Jenny got me a slice of Italian Wedding Cake for my birthday. A lovely get together with friends. Thank you for an excellent Italian restaurant experience!

Food is excellent, the atmosphere is great, I unfortunately got a very slow, inattentive Waiter. My salad came out 10 minutes after my dinner, my beverage was empty for 5 minutes 2 different times. Thanks to one of the female waitress walking by noticed my empty cup and got me a drink is the reason for 2 stars for service,

Delicious Veal Francese and Chicken Marsala! Our server, Nia was a delight! We dined Al fresco with the sun setting.

I always feel like to food is good, but… the pizza just isn’t my kind of pizza. The pasta, just isn’t my pasta. The atmosphere is good, but… I have felt like I was treated a certain way when I came in and ate food by myself. Perhaps my small amount of food just isn’t an impressive ticket? I don’t know. I just don’t get the hype of Pomodoro. The desserts are decent, not all homemade, so ask first. The service is always good from most of them, I do feel some of the management needs a vacation.
