The Retreat East

Apartment complex Student housing center

😠 The worst place I have ever lived, would give no stars! Do not live here. They do not care about you, they will charge you hundreds of dollars for no reason and give you blurry photos as evidence. There is no parking, there is barely any guest parking (only fourth floor which is always full). THEY D... People often mention broken, daughter, Retreat, East, live,

The worst place I have ever lived, would give no stars! Do not live here. They do not care about you, they will charge you hundreds of dollars for no reason and give you blurry photos as evidence. There is no parking, there is barely any guest parking (only fourth floor which is always full). THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY!!!!! THEY HAVE HOMELESS PEOPLE LIVING IN THE PARKING GARAGE. All four corners of this complex is surrounded by shady homeless people that sift through your trash and break into your apartments and cars. My car was broken into twice, I had multiple friends apartments ROBBED of over $1000s worth of things. I DID NOT HAVE A LOCK ON MY BEDROOM DOOR FOR OVER 75% OF MY LEASE. YES, IT WAS REPORTED TO THEM OVER A DOZEN TIMES. The pool hours are so limited they pretty much wasted all that money on a pool deck and it comes out in fees and charges YOU pay for. A lot of their front office staff are rude and even though they live there also, they could give zero f*s on helping you resolve anything. Just safe yourself the time and money and look elsewhere. It truly is not worth the pain. As an added continuation, the elevator was broken for most of my lease, and when I had a broken ankle there was "nothing they can do" except let me suffer. (not to mention everyone else who needed it during the long time it was broken as well). And I guarantee you they will comment on this with please reach out to the info@retreat email and I have. THEY DONT CARE. They want anyone reading the comments to think it will be resolved, but no. Nothing will.

Parents don’t put your student at this property. My daughter lived here for a year and it was a nightmare. After a break in at her unit the police told me that they are called to the property every few days for robberies and other disturbances. My daughter was assigned roommates by the property. Upon visiting I found two other people living there not on the lease which I reported. Even after they found one of them in the unit they didn’t remove them or take other action. Instead for a year I had to pay utilities for two extra people and on move out they had no responsibility for any of costs. I reported illegals drugs, trash inside and outside, strangers sleeping in the living room, doors left unlocked and yet management was complacent. I requested numerous times to be able to move my daughter to another unit or release her from the lease as the environment was unsafe. They gave us no options. At the end of the lease we were held responsible for damage and trash resulting from two tenants and their unauthorized live in guests. Management’s lack of concern for the safety of its tenets makes it a poor choice for college students. As a parent I want to know my child is in a safe environment.

My daughter has been a resident since the Retreat East opened. It is a wonderfully run facility with a lot to offer. My daughter loves to use the pool and the gym. She frequently attends events that are offered which is a great way for the students to connect. She also takes full advantage of using their study pods. As parents, we feel confident that she is in a safe environment. I highly recommend The Retreat East!!

Nice buildings and property when we first moved in. Wifi is awful with speeds as low as 8 mbps download during peak hours here. Bandwidth is not equipped to deal with the amount of residents. Maintenance is wonderful and very communicative. There is broken glass all over the roads and garage as a result of the residents that does not get cleaned up. Ac has been broken for more than 6 mo total. Had to get AC units in the room. Wifi is atrocious and in many cases I have to be on my hotspot, that’s my biggest issue.

The Retreat East is a fantastic place to live. The clubhouse has an amazing pool, a two-floor gym, study pods, and a sports simulator. The apartments are clean and spacious, including your own bathrooms and huge closets. Besides this, the staff is fantastic; the managers put together different fun ways for all of us who live here to meet each other and always feel welcomed in our apartments, and the team always does their best to help solve any problems one may have, I would recommend the Retreat East to anyone moving or any college student living in Orlando.

I love living here!! I was a transfer student from another Florida school and The Retreat East has made my experience at UCF 1000x better. The staff are friendly and helpful and if they don’t have the answer right away, they are quick to follow-up and get an answer for you. The amenities are amazing. I use the pool every chance I get and I use the study rooms a lot too. Maintenance is amazing too !! We have the best maintenance crew and they always respond so quickly to your requests. One thing that could definitely be improved is security at the complex. There aren’t security cameras or gates — but the retreat has security that patrols at night (though I wish they patrolled more frequently). Overall, I’ve had a great experience with the community and I think that if you’re looking for an apartment complex to live at, the retreat east is def the way to go!

Our daughter has been living at the Retreat East for over 2 years now, and we couldn't be happier with her choice. This apartment complex has truly become her home away from home. The Retreat East has exceeded our expectations in terms of maintenance, staff friendliness, and amenities. It's a place where my daughter feels safe, comfortable, and part of a thriving community. I wholeheartedly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a place to call home while attending UCF or Velencia.

Never had an apartment experience be so awful. You pay over 10000 a month to be cramped with 4 others in an apt so small it’s uncomfortable. The management has yet to fix any issues in any of the room like mold that broke someone’s bathroom, a kitchen with a dishwasher that is never fixed no matter the maintenance order, broken glass and sketchy individuals who roam the place at all hours. All of this on top of random fees being placed on all students accounts throughout the year matched with an attitude of complacency by the office.
