The food here took me back to my childhood memories of my visits to West Bengal... Ordered Sukto, Telapiya Kalia and Mutton Kosha with some plain rice. The Sukto and Kalia simply won my heart. The Mutton Kosha was great but could've been better. An overall nostalgic experience for me! New Visit Alert! Went solo this time to have something different. Enjoyed every bite of my Telapiya Shorshe with plain rice and some green chillies. Shorshe is basically fish cooked in a mustard gravy making it way different from any other preparation and they cooked it finger licking good. Plus, I got some Mutton Kosha with Aloo for takeaway to relish for dinner.

Maa Tara is one of the best Bengali restaurant in CR park Delhi. It is a well known place for its quality food. They have a lot of different and mouth watering dishes in their menu both vegetarian and non vegetarian. The quality of food is awesome. The prices are affordable. They also have home delivery service. The services are good and fast. The staff is very polite and courteous.

One of the best places in CR park market 2 for authentic Bengali food. We tried the ilish bhapa and bhetki paturi along with veg thalis. All the dishes were amazing. The thali items are served only once, but it is enough for a meal. However, the restaurant is not very spacious and gets a little cramped once it is filled. Nonetheless, the place is worth visiting for the quality of food.

It is one of the most well known Bengali food place but the quality has gone to the streets. Say it quality or the quantity neither are upto the mark. Moreover if they think they can fool Bengali taste buds by adding til in the name of posto, sorry it's not possible. This was my last time here. Never going back.

To enjoy a real Bengali supper, my friends and I headed to Maa Tara, CR Park. Being Bengali, we always prioritise flavour over cost. We had a terrible time in Maa Tara, though. The Mutton Curry, Ilish Shorshe, and Prawn Masala Fry we ordered were served by unfriendly wait personnel. I can assure you that the food was awful, and I will never suggest anyone visit there.

Earlier I had some good experiences. But in recent years I don't get the feeling. Today I ordered chicken thali. The thali had some smell as not fresh but it was served hot. Dal, sabji, chicken nothing was good. It was a total waste as I travelled 10kms to have my dinner there. So I thought to write it up here so that they can improve. High expectations from this Bengali restaurant...

Nice ambience. With good Bengali authentic food. Delivery time is little bit delayed because of making time of the dishes. Awesome experience.

I've been going to Maa Tara for Bengali food. I have been in Delhi for the past 4 years. Mutton curry with aalu and mete chochodi is one of my favorites. The meal is of the highest caliber, and the service is outstanding!

My favourite go to place for Bengali cuisine in Delhi. No frills, great food. The shorshe fish gravies, mutton and begun bhaja are a must try. It’s a smallish place so suitable for small groups (up to 5 people). Expect to wait a while if going at peak lunch or dinner hours, esp on weekends. Keeping up with the spirit, the place is shut from 4-7 pm.

Usually one of my favorite restaurants in the city, I always go here whenever I am missing home. Yesterday, though, my roommates and I ordered from here and were very disappointed. The prawn malai curry, for which we paid 678 INR, was really not what I expected. The entire plate had just one whole piece of prawn, which is nowhere near enough for even two people. Really sad about the dish. After spending so much money on a special Saturday meal, this was the worst thing. We were left trawling through the gravy and found nothing but empty shells. I never thought Maa Tara would let me down like this.

Visited this restaurant yesterday( 11 Nov 2022) afternoon had Fish Kurkure , Chicken Kosha , Mutton korma ....My rating is Single Star (Unlikely that I would order it again) because of Fish Kurkure . Hardly any fish in the fish kurkure and same was dripping in oil and served cold that too after couple of reminders to the waiter and at the cash counter. Other two dishes were at par with any other restaurant. ....Over all just ok kind of experience.

The worst food I have ever had. I had ordered with Swiggy and paid rs 1600 for something I had to feed the dogs outside.. 1. Food not cooked properly 2. They do not know how to cook chicken 3. They have no idea how to cook mutton.. Atleast not the Bengali one.. 4. Never order pulao from them… I have no idea what I tasted in the name of pulao.. propably the worst pulao I tasted till the age of 35..

If you are looking out for bong food, do visit this place for some mouth watering bengali cuisines. Prices are moderate. They sarve good Bengali cuisines at affordable prices. It has a very small indoor sitting, there is huge rush during festivals. Doi mach, chingri malai curry are good options, rest you can pick from the menu as per the taste.

I use to like their food in the past, this time I had the worst experience of all-time, I ordered Thali for me and my wife, Dal was like water with haldi, no dal at all, Fried fish was rotten, mutton was not edible and these guys don't care. Go to Sonar Bangla instead of this restaurant. Never going to visit again 🚫🚫

Tasty food that doesn't cost a bomb - we had ordered aloo dum, luchi and Kolkata style chicken biryani. We also tried pakoras or fritters made of fish eggs, which tasted soft and delicious. Everything tasted good and brought a hint of nostalgia along. This place is also a hit among my north Indian colleagues.

I visited today with my mother. We ordered veg thali. It was 45minutes and we were not served. The guests who walked in after is (almost five orders) were served before us. Each time we asked they said is on the way. Finally we left the restaurant without eating. And they were smiling bfor some reasons. Bad experience

I loved the food Maa Tara serves. It’s authentic Bengali food. People go there for nice food and not for great ambience and they have maintained the same quality for years. Also price is reasonable and quantity is good.

They should have some competitors. Food quality is not up to the mark when compared with price. Quantity of food is more than enough.

Puro faltu ....khubi karap test ar sarvice khub faltu..The only thing I liked about this place was it's open kitchen. We ordered Kolkata Biryani and ilish bhapa and monng dal and alu posto and mutton kosa with alu and rice and pabda jal with alu begun to start with. The order came in 60-65 mins and was very bad. The biryani was a disgrace and alu posto was equally bad and totally very bad experience quality and test. Basic things like soda was not available. Not sure why so high rated.

I don't know where to start with. But this place has the horrible food items. They have fish fingers that's 'made of Bhetki maach' but it neither taste like Bhetki nor smell like Bhetki. Then their Kolkata Chicken Biryani! It has fried chicken along with potato and egg!! I mean who fries chicken/Potato/Egg in Biryani? Then last but not the least, their chicken fried rice tasted more like Delhitian Food than Kolkatan! Adding to that, the size of fish fingers were more like of lady's finger (Bhindi - small and thin ; hardly any fillings of Bhetki maach into it!!). I mean HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO KOLKATA FOR ONCE IN A LIFETIME? I doubt that chef of yours is actually a bengali or not ; or has he ever tasted a bengali food?! And yes the place: It's so congested. There's no place to sit comfortably. A few typical 'rastar hotel' chairs and table with ACs that doesn't keep you chilled at all. I just came out of that restaurant wasting ₹829/- on their pukish food items. Seriously if someone really is going to applaud their food items and preparations especially now during Durga Puja Festival; I would say 'Please come to Kolkata and taste street hotel's ₹100/- ₹200/- takar Mach bhaat'. You'll feel the difference. Seriously wastage of time and money.

Ma Tarra Restaurant proudly stands out as a haven for exceptional Bengali cuisine aficionados. This eatery holds an undisputed reputation for serving some of the most tantalizing and authentic Bengali dishes in town. The menu at Ma Tarra Restaurant is a treasure trove of traditional Bengali flavors that tantalize the taste buds and evoke a sense of nostalgia. From classic fish preparations to aromatic biryanis and soul-soothing sweets, each dish is a testament to the culinary richness of Bengal. However, amidst the gastronomic delight, the restaurant's ambiance falls short of matching the brilliance of its cuisine. The setting might lack the finesse or ambiance of a more upscale dining spot, occasionally detracting from the overall experience. Yet, what it lacks in ambiance, Ma Tarra compensates for with its unparalleled dedication to delivering authentic Bengali flavors. The staff's hospitality and the passion behind the food preparation contribute significantly to the overall appeal. For those craving an authentic Bengali culinary experience, Ma Tarra Restaurant remains a top choice despite its ambiance shortcomings. The exceptional taste and quality of the food here transcend any limitations in the ambiance, making it a go-to destination for those seeking an unadulterated journey through the flavors of Bengal.

Two days back three dishes of Bengali food- Alu posto, dhokar dalna and patol dolma were brought by my daughter for us as we were confined for contracting Corona. All dishes became sour by evening inspite of keeping in fridge. Very bad quality. Few months back once more this kind of incidents happened. I went to lodge complaint to the restaurant. My advice - avoid this restaurant. They don’t keep quality of food.

During Durga Puja, I went there for dinner. The behaviour of staff was very good. They have wide variety of food. Very good menu that also says which are their signature items. The Rohi Fish fry was very fresh and tasty. Must try. The restaurant environment was cozy and clean.

I visited today with my family and it was really horrible. We used to visit this resturant frequently before Covid-19 lock downs and visited for the 1st time after nearly 2 years. There is a huge difference in the food quality and service. It took atleast 40.mins to serve the food when there was no such rush. There was not a single dal inside the dal they have served....only yellow water...the moori ghanato was horrible and we can't touch it. After my complajn they didn't charge me for the moori ghanto....the chicken curry was also of no taste....NOT AT ALL A BENGALI PREPARATION....

Being a Bangali, who stays in Delhi for the past 12 years, Maa Tara has been my destination of Bangali cuisine. My favourite being Mutton Curry with Aalu, and Mete Chochodi. Service is fantastic and the quality of the food is perfect!!

The place is really nice and also cheap for good Bengali authentic food... It has all the Bengali dishes and crowd as well.. The seating space is a little small but the food trumps it all....
