Lake Del Valle East Beach

Fishing lake

😠 Can't swim in The lake because of dangerous toxic algea. Would have been nice with some information.. Was standing in line for at least 45 minuites... Maybe some signs before The lake or information online... We drove 1 hour and 30 min just to turn around. People often mention lake, nice, water, family, swim, beach, area, great, kids, para,

More like 2 stars.Way under real potential..Lots of trash, the only menu option is hot dogs ( and nachos - though, the lady selling is very nice), no rental for kayaks ( it was a Tuesday), lots of sharp leaf bushes ( see pic) on the grass area ( in your way when playing or when în need of flat surface for your beach sheet). There is a very small area for swimming, though, guarded by lifesavers until 6PM. You can bring a boat but it will have to pass an inspection. Fishing allowed but I understand nobody really catches anything. Overcrowded on weekend.

What a nice place for picnic, camping and hiking obviously! Clean and great view of nature. Plenty of parking, kids friendly. You can rent a pedal boat, volleyball etc. ( currently not available due to covid). Deer are walking next to you, thats a great feelings of being closed to wildlife. If you like fishing the its also great place. Overall a nice place with lots of activity options.

We love visiting this place with my family and friends. You'll be completely Unplugged. There is no reception here, but you'll connect with Nature.

This is one of my favorite places to go, as of 05/14/2023 some updates are: 1- Kayaks and bikes renting is unavailable 2- Both small shops are closed 3- Pier is closed due a construction failure(you won't be able to use your own boat on the lake) 4- Swimming is open(with lifeguard on site) The place is looking good so far, last year was really slow due to toxic algae, hopefully they can bring more of the fun before summer's peak, kayak is a great activity to do.

(Translated by Google) I loved the place for me and my family every weekend we go have a great time there is only something that does not stop me is that people go and play ball no matter that there is family and the guards do not call attention to play in a place where there is space and not going to hurt someone but everything is fine just that I did not like q to play q go to the grass not where children go by almost hit my little sister that day and we also a Black started smoking on the shore of the lake where all the children are, no matter what I think they should supervise a little more (Original) Me encanto el lugar a mí y a mi familia cada fin de semana vamos la pasamos de lo mejor solo hay algo q no me párese es q vaya gente y se pongan a jugar pelota sin importarles q haya familia y los guardias no les llaman la atención para q jueguen en un lugar donde haya espacio y no vayan a lastimar a alguien pero todo está bien solo eso no me gusto q para jugar q se vayan al sácate no donde andan los niños por poco le pegan a mi hermanita ese día y a nosotros también un negro se puso a fumar ala orilla del lago donde están todos los niños sin importar creo q deberían de supervisar un poco más

Nice place with beautiful scenery and rather warm water. But it's allowed to swim only in very tiny part on the beach.

The park is very nice bathrooms are more clean now as of 4-16-14, swimming in the warm water is awesome, the beach is more colder and the water here warm, recommend it!

The ‘beach’ is dusty gravel and is covered in lots of goose poop. Not the best experience. Will look elsewhere.

Cool place to come to on a hot afternoon, though it can get very busy. There are kayak, boat and paddle board rentals available on this side of the lake.

Horrible place, will never go there again! It's ran more like a police state than a family friendly park. I have never been to a lake like this. The lake itself is nice but unfortunately it's more like a mirage that you pay to look at than an actual lake you can enjoy. Went there on a 100 deg day and could not even enjoy the water. There was no swimming anywhere except in 2 roped off areas on the East and West side of lake, in which there was 100's of people piled in like a can of sardines with literally no swimming space. More like wading in a cess pool of urine. It was so hot and people were trying to cool off and as soon as people were seeing wading in the water the police boats would yell at the kids and adults to exit water along with their dogs. Drove 2 hrs because I was told that you can swim, bring your dog, and kayak. Psshh, bull-"#. Read the fine print 1st. Paid a docking fee and inspection fee only to not be able to use my kayak because they said it was still moist inside, even though it was used 2weeks prior and was clean and dry other than in the hatch area that was still a little damp to the touch. Rangers inspected a floating device(tube) and a surfboard I had and said I could float around in that but the water police wouldn't allow anyone to float around on tubes, rafts or anything other than pre inspected kayaks. Wasted my Sat at this craphole. We spent the day in the scorching heat watching the police and rangers yelling at people to get out of the water or get cited. Looking at the water but not being able to get in to cool off since the only swimming areas were on opposite sides of the lake is not my idea of a good time, especially when you have to pay fees.

This review is for the beach here particularly and not the lake. On a typical summer weekend, the Del Valle East Beach is crowded. One thing I can't understand is why all the strict rules? I swam in the wrong direction, the lifeguard yelled at on the loudspeaker. My kids brought their boogie board in the water, got yelled at. You have to stay within the marked area of the beach. You can't swim in the areas adjacent to the beach, only within the marking lines. And at some point, the kids have to get out of the water because of lifeguards' order. All these rules are just ridiculous. Maybe the State is concerned for kids’ safety. They can just provide kids swim area as an option, and not force everyone to swim within the marked lines. I’ll be checking out some other remote spots along the lake and make it my own swim spot.
