I had an exceptional stay at Taj Coromandel. The best aspect was the staff who were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, efficient and friendly - every one from the restaurant team to the room service to the concierge. The room was excellent and the hotel amenities top notch. The breakfast buffet is arguably the best I’ve had anywhere in India or the US, and both Anise and Southern Spice have great chefs and first class Indian, Chinese and Western dishes. Pool was very nice as was lobby/banquet area. Once again the best part of the hotel is the staff and I cannot say enough nice things about them. Many thanks for your hospitality! Highly recommend this hotel.

Went here to attend a wedding.Spacious Banquet hall .The food was vegetarian and decent .The washrooms was good and adequate. Did not go to the other wings of the hotel to feel the flavour of the hotel.

The nicest hotel I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. It's a stunning structure, and it only gets better as you get inside.The ambiance is fantastic. The food is delicious. To understand why Anise's briyani costs so much, try Gilli briyani, which costs 1600 rupees. The staff is courteous and friendly. The management sticks to the Covid rules to the fullest.Overall, Taj Coramandal is an excellent choice for a family or group vacation

I recently dined at this 5-star restaurant and was blown away by the overall experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with impeccable service and a warm atmosphere. The menu was extensive and offered a variety of options, making it difficult to choose just one dish. The presentation of each dish was stunning and the flavors were even better. The chefs definitely know how to balance and blend flavors to create a truly unique dining experience. The wine list was also impressive, offering a range of selections to pair perfectly with the meal. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If you're looking for a luxurious and memorable dining experience, this is the place to go. I can't wait to come back and try something new from their menu.

Excellent hotel - right from the rooms to the food options. Housekeeping staff especially are very courteous. Portion sizes for the food are large and food is delicious. Location is good, with lots of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. Hotel was also nice to send over an item that was left behind after check-out. One place where I would suggest improvement is for staff at breakfast to remind guests to wear masks when going near the buffet area.

It's an awesome place. Yesterday we celebrated our anniversary over there. Anise is a wonderful restaurant with enough buffet spread as well as taste was also superb specialy the desert section. Ambiance was also very nice. Staffs are very humble and polite. Wish to visit it again in near future ☺.

The hotel lobby was unbelievably hot and humid. Not sure about the cooling system there but it would be great if they could do something to make you comfortable as soon as you enter from the scorching heat. Apart from that parking is plenty, the hotel is neat and rooms are spacious. I found that my shower was clogged and smelled horrible during my stay but they immediately tried to fix it. The amenities are excellent. A great location to stay and relax with plenty of dining options.

Golden Dragon, authentic pan Asian food. The serving size is BIG , be aware. We were 5 of us and still couldn’t do justice to the food we ordered . Loved the food , the taste as well as the thoughtful service. Extreme indulgence 😃😊🤭

Dined at Golden Dragon, the food was good. The crispy lamb stood out. The chili fish wasn't up to the mark. The fried rice and the schezwan prawn gravy was spot on. The servings per dish was adequate. Overall a good experience.

Been there couple of times to attend couple of corporate programs & meetings, lunch, functions etc. A landmark, prime property of the Taj group, widely preferred by corporates / biz conglomerates, it's a great place. Beautiful ambience, parking facilities, great service, excellent food, convenient meeting rooms/ function halls, etc add charm to to this. Easily locatable and accessible

Room was good. Fully automated systems in room like 1click buttons for curtain rises, light control & sound systems arranged in room. But need to improve food for quarantine packages. Food prices are also too costly.

I don't think I'm qualified to review Taj but based on my couple visits I will share my view. Recently I visited for an official meeting. It's a 5 star hotel so what to say everything looked 5 star. The meeting rooms were great, staffs were polite, food was great and all facilities were 5 star. I think it's been there for a long time and it's one of the few hotels you think of when as a child you discussed about 5 star hotels. I went there during pandemic so it was less crowded. You were asked to wear a mask if you step out of your room. I went by two wheeler and two wheeler and star hotels don't get well. You have to park it in a nearby field and walk few meters to the hotel.

would say food is good. But I personally find it Wow as of me i would rate the food 8.5/10. Great service and very quiet. I was impressed from the moment that I arrived. and amazingly quiet so great for a stay. The staff are most helpful and I could easily stay here for some time.

Few years ago, I was a member of Taj membership holder. It served lot of benefits. It’s been ages since I visited Taj coramandel. Recently I attended a reception at Taj. Hall was spacious with big stage. Food space could have been better however food was really great. It’s worth the money. Great customer service

I would like to specially mention Mr Kuppuswamy, who was F&B manager for our breakfast the two days we stayed there. He was exceptionally good, took extra care, very homely treatment and good the fresh food just as we needed. And always smiling. Do not forget to ask him for the one meter filter coffee in case you visit and have breakfast at the hotel.

They gives world class experience. It is located in center of the city. Food option is available in the hotel itself. Outside food is also allowed. Very spacious lobby area. Their hall for event is also impressive. They've very beautiful decorations works.

Had an absolutely amazing stay here. Me and my family were received very warmly and were made to feel at ease right away - all thanks to Ms. Jasmine. Every staff we encountered were polite and doing their job to perfection. The rooms were very clean and amenities were top notch. Special mention to the spread of food available at breakfast. Just amazing each one of the dishes. We stayed for three days and i think I alsmot tried each variety. Watch out for tea lounge at reception if you have liking for it!

The best hotel stay ever. Amazing hospitality, food and service. The staff, John and team from the breakfast buffet were a delight and the food is delectable. They went above and beyond their service to ensure that we had a wonderful experience. Our GRO Jasmine is exceptional and we will never forget her service. Room, Service, and also location is very nice. We were a group of folks visiting Anise for drinks and dinner. The ambience was great. The service was pretty friendly and the food ofcourse was yumm! We hung out for quite a while and the service was consistently good and prompt. Highly recommend for latenights after drinking too. They are open 24x7

Tan was an excellent luxurious experience. Breakfast buffet was a gorgeous feast every morning. Hospitality was impeccable. We had the best care possible. Particularly we would like to thank catering assistant, Mr. Kuppusamy & Sous Chef, Mr. Dayalan for the way they looked after our every need. Their personal touch put our experience of breakfast on a completely different level. This is our second time at the Taj, but we will keep coming back whenever we visit Chennai.

Went for buffet lunch..variety, quality, decor, ambience and service - all are exceptional! One suggestion though for improvement.. there were only limited number of non veg and practically no seafood served! Been to Korea, Singapore where they do excellent job in marketing and bringing tourists to their country, just by adding a variety of seafood .

I stayed here for 2 nights and was able to avail good weekend offer. The staffs here are very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and has quite a lot of well maintained amenities like swimming pool and gym. The food tasted exceptional with a lot of options on the menu. They have free breakfast and unlike other hotels, they do have a lot of options in the buffet as well!I must say about the staff here who are very humble, quick and responsive. They make sure that you are comfortable throughout the stay. This will definitely be my place for stay whenever I’m in Chennai 💛

We were invited to a buffet lunch at Anise. There was a wide range of dishes and the salads were very well prepared. Though we enjoyed the tuna salad, I was disappointed that cold cuts of ham, salami and prosciutto were not on offer. We seem to have forgotten these items in Chennai buffets. The cheese platter was good, the bread was delicious. The beef was not cooked well. Difficult to find good quality beef in Chennai. Avoid, and offer us shrimp or prawn cocktails. Service was very good and very friendly. Desserts were tasty but please include a fresh fruit platter, guys. Good value for money, I would certainly go again and a very well prepared lauki dish was hardly noticed by anyone. Also, the stoneware lids of all the dishes felt like a workout at the gym!! I’m a Taj loyalist and have stayed at several Taj properties. The Taj Coromandel is one of the best in terms of service and hospitality. The breakfast buffet has excellent food choices. Service is very attentive even during busy times. The gym is well equipped with Technogym machines. There is always a cold towel and fruit infused water waiting for you after a workout. The hotel is centrally located so very easy to get around. I’d love to stay here again with my family.

An honest review about our experience with Taj Coromandel for my engagement event held on October 27, 2021. While this is primarily concerned with Banquet services, but other allied services like front desk, in-room dining, parking assistance team - In fact, every possible team screwed up on my event date. I'm taking so much efforts in writing this review, so that no other customer is taken for granted in the future (Especially this is NOT acceptable at Taj/ OHL/ IHCL standards). We chose Taj Coromandel over The Leela Palace to have our engagement ceremony. To our greatest disappointment we faced multiple issues during our event as follows: 1. We made a booking almost 2.5 months prior to the event date and had chosen a rather minimum number considering the Covid Scenario, but closer to the event date while we were discussing our requirements, it was strongly established by our event coordinator that she agreed to such a small number of Minimum guarantee only because we had booked earlier, in other words it sounded as if a favor was being done as the pax was comparatively lesser. She had all the reasons not to accept the contract than to pass such comments for any request/requirement. Needless to say, they weren't appreciative of the fact that we called lesser crowd considering COVID scenario rather they were only pushing for more crowd and therefore, more business. 2. On the day of the event, where we expected to see our Guest Coordinator, we were informed at the reception counter that she had taken off and we had no prior intimation or information regarding the same nor had she guided us to her replacement for the same day. 3. Our agreed time of check-in was 2pm, on arrival after the chaos to reach to the respective event coordinator, the first few rooms were handed at around 2.30pm and the last 2 rooms were given by around 3:30 - 4 pm only after continuous follow-ups. 4. While placing an order from the room service there were cold comments passed which to be exact was "a sandwich would cost you Rs1000, would you be okay to pay that", as if we didn't know it. To top it, we were asked to pay the bill on the spot and it was refused to be added along with the banquet billing - THIS WAS TOTALLY AN UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR WHICH I CAN NEVER ACCEPT. 5. The Ballroom was to be vacated and handed over by a maximum of 2pm to facilitate our decor, but it was handed over by 3.30pm thus leading to a complete delay in our event which started only by 6.10pm despite the bride and groom being ready by 5.30pm. It was a total waste of our time as well as guests time. 6. The one thing we were confident and wouldn't go wrong was the food, but to our utter shock the food was cold by around 9-9.30pm, when we conveyed the same to the chef around 10.30pm he uncannily accepted that it indeed was bad (e.g. Kadai paneer). We were happy only with the live counter and desserts. Additionally, the Chef also accepted the taste of few items were compromised beyond 9:30 PM. Needless to say, their team still charged us for the bad food served. Starters wasn't served at regular intervals. THIS WAS A SHOCK AND UNACCEPTABLE TO US. 7. The unprofessional behaviour of the Banquet in charge (Mr Balraman) is something that I would like to bring to notice. The staff claimed an absolutely heinous number of guests arrival while we sat and deciphered the actual count of guests were around 100 lesser than what he had stated and negotiated our way through it. He was rude to my father and my guests - I can never accept this behaviour. 8. A parking assistant rather than assisting my sister to move the sign board and proceeded to pass the comment " If you don't know which is the entry and exit way, how do you even come to a 5 star hotel" when she took the wrong exit. 9. The key cards were deactivated without any prior intimation to the guests . Overall a place where we were confident to have a hassle free experience posed us to such episodes which has definitely left us questioning about their consistency in hosting events.

Not recommended. The checkin process is long and tiring. The rooms are not clean... It's COVID times, and we expect extra care & hygiene. We found the rooms have unclean bedsheets, and dust on the floor. Shockingly, we found a 'belt' behind the bed that may have been of the guests before us. We don't expect this from TAJ. The bathroom has stains on the mirror. Hair on the bathtub. The lamp lights flicker. There was a smoking smell in the corridor of 3rd floor and we reported the same. Upon complaining, the staff found that the room next to ours was occupied by men, who had invited many of their friends in the room and enjoying a party. The staff immediately asked the guests' friends to leave. It only tells how relaxed the security is. They did change our room to a different floor to avoid smoke smell. Too many protocols to build trust during COVID times. But the facade falls quick. Not coming again.

Food was very nice. The staff were quite courteous but appeared little artificial. The genuine warmth was not felt.

I had booked at Taj Connemara but due to a “buyer’s bubble” was moved to the Coromandel. I stayed in the Club room (after requesting a double upgrade for being shifted into another hotel two days before arrival) and was happy with Coromandel. The club room was nice: size was not too big but very comfortable and the amenities were very modern with a Toto WC and automated curtains. The restaurant Southern Spice had fantastic South Indian food, and although I read many reviews about the breakfast being bad, I thought it was good: huge selection of food, and most of it was very tasty. I think people maybe disappointed to eat not great idlis for breakfast, but the dosas and the rest of the food was good. Service was very attentive. They are following CoVid protocol very well. We even got massages and facials done at the Jiva Spa and they were the best we have ever done. The bartender at the Chipstead Bar was great: made a mean spicy Margarita and Whisky Sour. I happened to leave my bag at the bar, and didn’t realise until 5 hours later. At 10:30 pm, Duty Manager Mani and the security guard helped me search the entire Spa and restaurant as well as the bar- and finally found my bag, intact! Only disappointment was that although their room service menu is huge, they don’t serve most of the dishes throughout the day. All in all, more like a business hotel but a very nice stay.

28-10-2021 My company recently hosted a new project launch event at a remarkable event hall. The event was a resounding success as customers filled the venue, and the project launch was a hit. The limited space in the dining area, but it was compensated by the excellent food arrangements, which delighted everyone with its delectable taste. Despite the minor space constraint, the event hall proved to be the perfect choice for our project launch. We are delighted to say that it's the best place to visit, offering a memorable experience for all who attended. 🎉👌🍽️

The Taj Coromandel is the pinnacle of luxury, service and hospitality. We got a room on the fourth floor which looked relatively newly renovated and the room was large, spacious, comfortable and luxurious. The daily house keeping was meticulous and thoughtful and guest services was very swift in giving us anything we needed (q tips, extra tissues etc). Even the laundry service which we needed after a long trip was same day service and beautifully folded (of course, it came at a price). The in room dining options were good, and the onsite restaurant Southern Spice was our favorite. Really wonderful experience staying here.

One amongst the old star hotels in Chennai. Just surviving amongst the stiff new competition. Good quality and taste needs improvement. Hall carpet and certain wooden doors are visibly old. If refurbished with some concentration on food taste, this can definitely regain old Glory .

Good hotel for business executives. Rooms are clean and food is also fine. The longue is so noisy, so for any meeting you have to search for a quiet place. Location of the hotel is very good and connected well. International airport is also not far.

Fantastic place, usual warm service expected from a Taj property. Staff at Souther Spice restaurant were extremely nice & good - made sure we were very well fed and made for a great culinary experience. The bar had a good collection of single malts too - including couple of personal favorites.

Overall stay is good. Comfy room, amenities is complete in the room. Food is ok, not expert on indian food but to me they are good, no bad experience at least, has some international selection too. Has pool and gym which is well equipment too. Price range around 6000 for King bed with breakfast

Good hotel, food was good but service can improve, in fact food should have proper arrangements in terms of layout which was little strange to me. I missed out many items despite being foodie. Room service should improve, i got a feeling that if you dial for room service then person at other end do not know your room number thus you may expect delay or need to dial again for the same. In such big hotel, if you are serving newspaper at room then either you serve it to all or at least ask/ check for the same at the time of check in. Rest all was good

My husband and I stayed at the Taj for over 2 weeks and we had the best experience. The service and hospitality was unbelievable. This was my first time going to India and there was a lot to adjust to in going to a new country. I found comfort at the Taj and the breakfast buffet chef, A Dayalan, even made me fresh french toast everyday. It was better than the french toast I get in the US. I do not have enough positive things to say about my experience at the Taj and I can't wait to go back.

The staff made the whole experience amazing. They go above and beyond making sure you have everything you need. We tried their spa, and highly recommend it. The breakfast was really good, and the southern spice restaurant has a really good thali. Just make sure to visit the restaurant on an empty stomach.
