We came here for the wood fired pizza and weren't disappointed. Flavorful slices with great portions of sauce, cheese, and char. Staff was friendly and attentive. Loved having the shady patio on a sunny afternoon.

Navona is a place for people who can appreciate culinary arts. You can tell they are foodies. Everything made in-house and made very specially for consistency. We had a bruschetta appetizer with three different toppings that complimented each other. If I recall correctly, one tomato based, one sweet pepper, and another ricotta. It went perfectly with the Angeline Cabernet Sauvignon. We also had an onion soup, but trust me when I say, there's no way you could guess what it was. It was creamy, a little earthy and very delicious with more of a subtle onion flavor. Most of their cuisine is wood-fired, which offers a very distinct taste. We ordered pizza off of the Specials menu. I should have written the ingredients. My guess is mozzarella cheese, ricotta, sausage and a little hot honey. I apologize if that is inaccurate. Nevertheless, it was delicious. The crust was airy. Very nice. Great ambiance, nicely decorated, great service. Almost forgot...lemontini is legit 👌🔥

The autumn salad was great. The bruschetta was delectable... we couldn’t get enough. The wood fired pizza was stupendous. The bread with dip they gave out was also delicious. The owner was friendly and service was good. Oh, and the Caesar salad was good too.

Absolutely fantastic! Our server Jorge was super friendly and went above and beyond especially during a very busy Friday night. When I told him I was gluten free, he actually went and got Chef Mike who explained their gluten free process for me and what could be substituted in the different meals. I decided to go with the Tagliatelle Al Ragu with gluten free pasta and it was PHENOMENAL. I’ve been gluten free for three years now and this was the best pasta I’ve had and will definitely be coming back. My husband had the gnocchi and said the pillowy texture of the gnocchi mixed with the sausage, gravy was absolutely perfect. In addition, Chef Mike recommended gluten free desserts and again, they were amazing! Highly recommend!

We hired Restaurant Navona's food truck for a corporate party and it was wonderful! They were early to set up, so accommodating and the food was delicious. Kim and her team were amazing. Not to mention, the presentation was beautiful. Highly recommend for your next event!

Food, staff and atmosphere are all great. Still a little COVID shy. They were nice enough to sit us in the back by fireplace. Drank wine. Had a caramelized onion, potato, bacon soup that was amazing. Added a puddle pizza and another bottle of wine. A perfect evening. Go and enjoy.

A wonderful cozy but bustling atmosphere, freindly staff, great stepped up familiar dishes made from scratch on site. A burger, yes they have it, but not your run of the mill burger. Fresh blended cuts of beef hand pressed with gourmet style yet not pretentious or snobby, just delicious. The wood fired pizza was really a treat. I will be sure to visit again as part of my regular Albany restaurant rotation.

Their menu is amazing! We went for a little moms night out for a glass of wine and ordered just appetizers and a pizza for the table. The hummus plate is an absolute must, the bruschetta is outstanding and so fresh, the crab cake is not bready and Delish and then the puddle cheese pizza, so amazing and not heavy like you think it would be! The waitstaff was so attentive and so nice and sweet! I did not even know this place was there but I will be back for sure! If you haven’t tried it please do so! You will not be disappointed!

Extremely dissapointed in the overall quality in the food. The wood fired pizza was cooked way to long. Instead of tasting pizza It tasted like burnt popcorn. And had no crust.Maybe 1 slice out of the whole pizza was great. Paid $30 for a personal pan pizza and a dozen wings. The wings were not even sauced. I asked for my wings to be extra saucy and they come with no sauce and sauce on the side thats just a liquid I had to grab my own hot-sauce and put it on the wings and even then I didn't finish the wings.I wouldn't even give it 1 star as I just thrown money away. Lesson learned. I always go to Scubbers wings in colonie, But I didn't want to drive too far. For eating burnt popcorn with some dry water downed wings i will make the 15 minute drive for Quality food.

The service, atmosphere of the restaurant, and the food were some of the best I've had in Albany! Everything we ordered off the menu was incredible, especially the arugula and lemon pizza, and the s'mores mousse tart.

Excellent food. Small portion for entree. Had Chef's special, rabbit ravioli. They gave me 3. Luckily, my wife ordered the pizza. Update: Raised to 4 stars. Been back a few times. Very good service, decent beer selection. Usually have a small appetizer and pizza. Have not been disappointed.

Navona is about as adequate as it gets. Their food, although delicious, comes in miniscule portions and takes a significant amount of time to do so. Service was excellent and the restaurant itself was comfortable. We sat outside, however, the inside temperature was comfortable. Also the bathrooms were very clean. Giving four stars because it was quality service. Personally I rank it 3 stars, but the style of navona, small portions and wine menu, might appeal to the older crowd. (Also you can bring your dog and sit on the patio)

The Salad was excellent. We couldn't get enough of the delicious bruschetta. Even though their cuisine is great, it takes a long time to prepare and is served in extremely little servings. The restaurant was cozy and the service was top-notch. Without a doubt, we'll return.

    I. Love. Cheese. And the Cheese puddle was so good I got hiccups from eating it too fast. I just couldn’t get it in my belly fast enough. Not to mention Maeve made me the BEST espresso martini I’ve ever had. Between the comforting atmosphere and fantastic food, I highly recommend coming here!

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Restaurant Navona. The Italian cuisine was simply delicious and the Tagliatelle and wood fired pizza were the standout dishes. The romantic atmosphere of the restaurant made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the wine selection was top notch. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and romantic dining experience. 5 stars all the way!

Hosted a private event here which went amazing well. Kim, the owner, was very supportive and went beyond our expectations to help plan the event. Food was very good, we enjoyed it along with the superb ambience. Highly recommend!

So close yet so far. Food was delicious. Decor / environs were very nice. The menu was one-third the size of what it should have been. The portions were one-third the size they should have been. Thus the prices were 3 times what they should have been. Remedy these things and it would be a 4.5 star restaurant. Til then it's a 3.

Enjoyed the pizza (said by an Italian) made with good tomato sauce, real mozzarella and with a wood fired oven. Glad I got tempted by the biscuits dessert, that was good too

Delicious food! Tonight we had take out steak, their amazing bread and bottle of wine. Even in take out containers, the food was plated beautifully. We are always greeted by their friendly staff and enjoy chatting with them. Food is always exceptional! Can't wait to get back to normal and sit at the bar. Support this incredible restaurant now more than ever!

Food is amazing and chef Eric is the most talented and charming chef in upstate New York. A MUST TRY!!!! The only room for improvement is the pizza, which is second best only behind Anna's Woodfire Pizza in Latham. The dishes arw inspired and amazing, full of flavor and phenomenal. Patrick is also a great server, but all the staff is fantastic.

It is always great to eat here. The food is delicious and good wine too. Because of the pandemic they have limited the dessert menu but they always have great cakes and tarts. Love it. You can always carry out.

My niece from the city hired Navona to cater a small Hawaiian themed birthday party- I had never heard of this restaurant- but I will be putting them on my list for Dinners. All food was delivered hot and fresh. They provided plates and silverware instructions on reheating (if necessary-)No detail was left unturned! Beef tips where tender and flavorful the Mahi-mahi light with a delicious sauce to add a bit of tang!! Really a great experience!! Go glad to have a new place to go out with my friends!! Where I know I will get a good meal! OMG the chowder -DELICIOUS!!

Creative lunch menu. Caesar salad was delicious (with anchovies) however the option to add grilled chicken was a waste of money; small amount of over cooked, dry chicken. Seemed like only one server on staff so service was slow. Request for second beverage was ultimately cancelled.

Love, love, love this place and not only because of the food but because of the family ambience. They have pizza, pasta and other special. I also like that the owners knows everyone and welcomes everyone like family. There is parking space available, seating outside and indoors.

Can't give these guys enough credit for going out of their way, providing excellent takeout during these trying times. And, staying upbeat and friendly while doing it.

Very nice setting, helpful service, good food, good drink. The burger was very good, but it needs a better side than chips out of a bag. (Get a reservation... Can be a bit cramped when busy. Parking in the rear.

We usually go here for dinner but today we tried their lunch and it was ✨stellar✨. My husband got the pizza navona (margherita pizza essentially, fresh Italian style pizza made in a brick oven, best in Albany) like he usually does and I got their reasonably priced ($15) salmon. It was a proper portion which meant I was unable to overeat its deliciousness like my American nature wants to and FULL of flavor, the roasted asparagus, greens, and onion in the yogurt sauce was sooooooo good. We also got the chickpea panzanella side ($3, great price for a decent sized side that most places would charge $6 for) and were very pleased. I do wish they had pasta offerings for lunch besides a pasta salad, but I was not displeased with my options. I'll be back and I'm probably going to have to try their turkey pepperonata sandwich next. ???

Great place for after-work drinks, great place for food, great place to eat with the family, and a great place to bring a date. Less good as a place to meet new people, but there are a ton of those already. If you know who you want to bring, bring them here.

Party of 6 for brunch, no other customers in the place. long wait for food and when we asked waitress she brought over manager who presented us with the ticket for our order to "prove" we were only waiting 20 minutes. we were speechless. when food finally arrived meals were cold and pancakes were burned. had to chase down staff for more water and coffee. I used to like this place but no more. many other good service and good restaurants to frequent.

Great meals at a good price. Creative menu, from grilled cauliflower to steak. Pizza is amazing! creative soups, salads, excellent wine list, variety of brewed beverages, never got to dessert! Spacious and inviting light wood finished dining room, and dining porch in season. We will be back!

i ate there once and will walk by your shop everyday since. its the name. gastro implies intestins which imply the product of intestins. Why would you associate food with that?

  • 3/5 Kyle P. 4 years ago on Google
Ordered the Fig Salad and Cheese Puddle Pizza, salad was okay but very small portion for the price. The pizza was not good though, it wasn't seasoned well and I could only taste ricotta. But the service was good, it had good atmosphere and the people I was with all enjoyed their food so I may have ordered the wrong thing. I'll give the place another chance and update if I have a different experience. Also the foccocia was amazing.
