This is the perfect beach for families with little kids. You don't need to worry about undertow and the red sand beach is a great place to dig for clams and catch crabs. And you can see the Confederation bridge. Lifeguards on site, public bathrooms, and playground and picnic area. Awesome family spot!

Beautiful beach, has park, swings, changing/ bathroom with beautiful flowers in front. There is a stair case to beach. A little steep but sturdy metal. You can see the confederation bridge. We seen lots of dogs and even horses on the beach.

Beautiful Beach! you can see the confederation bridge in the background and the waves on the sand. we went in the evening, it was nice, not too many people. you can also see hermit crabs. only downside. the washroom facilities aren't the greatest. they are in need of an upgrade.

We decided to drop by this beach during our visit to PEI. We decided on this beach because some have indicated it was warm. It is true. The water is not bone chilling cold. It is warmer than what we had experienced in Nova Scotia. The kids really enjoyed playing in the water and watching the hermit crab. It was low tide when we arrived so the waters were very shallow. The bathrooms were clean and had running water. They also had a hose that you could use to wash off the red sand. The area had a kid park and a large field with picnic tables. Recommend visiting this beach. Its free and not many people were there when we visited.

Little red-sand beach, though it does have a changing room, hot showers and a whole playground for kids! The water there is warmer than northern beaches and offers a beautiful view of the Confederation Bridge!

SLEEPER BEACH located right off the Confederation Bridge. Visited this park on our way off the Island after a short stay. Were pleasantly surprised by how quiet and beautiful this park was. FREE parking, beach access and use of amenities. Has showers and change rooms that are locally looked after, LOTS of parking and LOTS of sandy spots to plop down for the day. We showed up at 10am and there was no one there. Eventually started to fill up later in the afternoon. Never felt crowded. You can walk for miles in the shallow water or build a sandcastle. While Google says the beach is unsupervised, there were 2 lifeguards on duty. NOTE: Beach does not allow any floaty devices because of strong tides. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a non-touristy, Cavendish beach option.

Red sand beach with a nice view of the Confederation bridge. Parking is on the grass, bathrooms are old but at least there are some. Stairs down to the beach are a bit narrow so only one way at a time. There's a lifeguard on duty watching the beach. Dogs are allowed on leash.

Great little park. Lots of open green space and well maintained. Has bathrooms and changing area. The beach is small at high tide but the swimming area is nice and shallow and you can go a long way out. Lots of crabs and Hermit crabs around to entertain the kids. Has a playground for small kids and there was a lifeguard on duty.

Small beach area with clean but older washroom facilities. No change station for babies. Steep short staircase to the beach. Not much sand to set up on. Some rocks and seaweed. Nice view of confederation bridge. We didn’t stay for the beach since it was not accessible for carrying a baby and elderly ones with us.

I arrived before sundown and walked along the beach. The tide was out so the small pools of water had plenty of minnows and tiny crabs crawling about. I waited for the sunset. Beautiful views.

Loved it. We arrived when the tide was high and left at almost 5 pm. It was not quite all the way out 5:23 was Low tide). Can't say enough about the natural beauty of the, quiet little Beach.

Really nice beach! There was a lot of waves in the water, which was fun to swim into. When we visited, there was also a lot of wind. The water was hot too and seeing the bridge is really beautiful too.

Nice hidden gem! It’s close to confederation bridge, has washroom and showers (even with warm water). Plenty of parking and seems like not a lot of people know this beach, was very quite. Sand was super soft and water was warm. A great view of confederation bridge too. No entrance fee to go to this beach.

Why have the hours changed to 8pm?? Ridiculous. our tax dollars pay for these parks and their upkeep, yet we can only visit them from Jun-Sept and then you go and reduce the hours?? Insane. I know I’ll just be parking on the side of the road so I can continue to enjoy this beach… mind you I shouldn’t have to since us islanders are paying for it. Corrupt.

Don't miss this one. A real red beach. Lovely not as crazy as some other beaches.
