Nice italian restaurant in Alberobello. Not in city center (trulli houses). It is about a 20 min walk from center, but we were looking for a restaurant specific to italians, not tourists. We got lots of free appetizers before our pasta came (were already full!). Good pasta, full of italians, including locals. Good prices also, not too expensive

We walked to the restaurant from the piazza at the trullis and wanted to have a decent meal offsides the tourist traps. We were not disappointed! On Sundays they don’t have a written menu. So we went for the antipasti and took 2 primi from the explanation of the waitress (randomly, due to our lack of Italian) The antipasti were all just great and the pasta with ricotta di buffalo and tagliatelle nera with prawns were awesome. The rosato frizzante is surprisingly dry and we liked that. All in all probably our best culinary experience during our trip.

Fantastic experience we had in this place. The waiter was incredibly patient on explaining all plates for us and taught us about many wines. The pasta was really good and cheap. Lots of locals eating there, which is always a good sign in very crowded touristic places. Highly recommended.

A M A Z I N G! Thank you Mr.C A R M E L O. Super delicious with big portions local restaurant! We had a dinner for 2 during our stay in alberobello. Mr.Carmelo in service is a big asset in the restaurant (be sure to ask for a table were he is working) always helpful with a big smile, made our experience in the restaurant superb! We had a super big mushroom pizza and a local pasta with broccoli and anchovies, super fresh and mouth melting tiramisu.

Where do I even start. I don’t need to say anything about the food because so many others already have. All you need to know is that you cannot go wrong with anything you order. Everything is simply fantastic! I should know because I was here twice in a matter of 3 days that I stayed in the area. Tried various dishes and I simply can’t decide what was best. Just ask them to bring you their best dishes made of local ingredients and you will leave a happy happy customer. Now, service: never have I seen such dedication to customer satisfaction. Long story short, I needed a cab on may back to the historic center where I was staying and the taxi company they called was unavailable. No sweat! VITO, one of the staff, an incredible human being, dropped me off himself with his personal car!!! This happened while the restaurant was packed with locals. No words! I am immensely grateful for this kindness from the restaurant and Vito. His response: you are in Italy! :)

Relaxed restaurant for a hearty meal at a good value - somewhat of a “quantity over quality” type place. Not the cosiest place with big TV screens and plastic table covers. The house antipasto was absolutely enormous, with some fabulous little dishes and some so-so. The orecchiette pasta was very nice, the gnocchi a bit bland.

Lovely place. Plenty of local people, family atmosphere, very good local food in reasonable prices. But, most impressive is service. Guys are so quick and responsive, friendly, nearly running with plates. Total oposite of fancy overpriced places. Highly recommend!

Traditional freshly prepared Italian food, we all had the ravioli special of smoked cheese tomatoes aubergine and pesto and it was cooked to perfection. They don't serve pizza for lunch on Sundays, only anti pasti and Pasta for main meal. We'll be back for pizza 🍕

We were recommended this place by the landlord the place we're renting, food is top, staff are friendly, we were abit disappointed by the wait but maybe that's how it is here 🤷‍♀️ Ofcourse u get ur aperitif with breads then the main course, they have specials, home made wine, open until 14:45 and open again between 6-7, dont forget to make space for dessert specialy the tiramisu 😋

This is one of the best hidden secrets for dining locally. The Service is excellent and the food is really great quality and truly local and authentic. Great value for money too. A plus is that In the summer one can eat outside or under a winter garden but I suggest booking in advance as they can get busy. This is by far one of my favourite places to eat local food near valley d’itria.

Delicious food and very friendly staff. Highly recommend. If you are in the zone you definitely have to have a meal at this restaurant. Having dinner under the olive tree was amazing

Small restaurant mostly visited by locals. Great service, amazing food and an overall welcoming vibe. We had antipasti, the specials of the day and pasta. Everything was very tastly and the prices are extremely decent.

We visited Gli Ulivi restaurant twice during our vacation. The restaurant is located outside the city and is visited by a lot of local guests. The service is fantastic! They are so fast and helpful. I especially greet the lovely waiter who brought me a little flowers :) It was so cute! The food is very good and prepared from local products. Delicious desserts !!! Everything is just right here! Very friendly staff and great food - from the starter to the dessert! We are very happy to have chosen this restaurant on the last day before our departure and thus had a perfect end. Unfortunately, in our two weeks, we were rather unlucky with the food, except for one other restaurant, but Gli Ulivi made up for everything in the end. Thank you and continue to have many good customers, we will be happy to come back

An amazing authentic pugliese restaurant offering delicious pasta and wonderful wines. We went there on a Friday night and ordered traditional local pasta. We were stunned when we got bruschetta, olives, fruits, all at no extra cost. Don’t waste your money in Restaurants in the old town. As beautiful they look, they can’t beat price and quality of “Gli Ulivi”. Also, staff are amazingly friendly and cheerful while being busy serving.
