Such a waste of time and money. First, if you are going to their dine in restaurant expecting a dine in experience, please don’t go. This is the first dine in restaurant we saw that need to be pre paid for the order. If you want to order more food, you have to order through their portal, pay money and then wait for your order. We hardly could enjoy food as we were busy ordering and making payments every time we want to add something to our order. Food is full with artificial colouring. and too oily. Sri Lankan prawn curry is nothing like authentic Sri Lankan prawn curry, $22 for 6 prawns and a pot of tasteless soup (can’t call it a curry). We ordered it hot, it was not even mild. Chicken Biriyani we ordered had 3 pieces of chicken that had no taste at all. Fruit custard we ordered for our little one was a disaster. Menu says it has cake, custard and fruit pieces. But we couldn’t find any cake or custard in it. Basically fruit custard with no custard. Only some fruit pieces floating in the milk. Such a joke And the service was absolutely pathetic. Asked for hot water, and they gave warm water.

Picked up a takeaway chicken biryani family pack at 1:25pm(14.8.22). All the Chicken was burnt biryani tasted burnt. Lady at the counter with tatoo on left forearm was very rude. And was annoyed when i asked her for less chicken and more rice rolled her eyes. I live 120km away from Auckland. Bad customer service and bad food.👎

I’m not Indian but recommended by mr patel my friend to come here. Mr patel told me that the chef here was together with Paradise at the beginning. So I went. Prices similar than paradise, Mt favourite afgani chicken now has curry here. Taste good and portion smaller than paradise. I’ll be back.

Bawarchi used to be one of our fav restaurant to go. The biryani was really good and the sri lankan fish curry was just amazing. But now, it tasted very average. Don’t know what happened, but it was a shame.

We dined here for the first time today - we went for the buffet dinner option around 6pm. It was average at best. There wasn't a lot of options for the buffet, which can be forgiven, if the food is really good. However, it was not. The dishes were kind of bland and quite oily. The meat (especially the chilli chicken) was really dry. Although, the chicken pieces themselves were a decent size. The food was also lukewarm to cold in temperature and seemed like it was sitting out for a while. There was a very small basket of 4 naan (1 naan was quartered) pieces, which were really stale, cold and dry. The buffet area is quite small, so there's limited seating. So they wouldn't be able to cater to a large number. However, one booth could seat 4 people. The service left much to he desired. We stood around for a bit, as there was a "wait to be seated" sign for the buffet, before the staff acknowledged us. There wasn't really a "hi" or "bye" - they just asked if we're wanted the buffet and told us to pay. After we paid we stood there as there was no indication we could enter the buffet area. Overall, I wouldn't really recommend going here. There are far better options for Indian food. However, it is a cheap dining option at $25 per head.

Had a great experience on my visit to Bawarchi, lots of options to choose from you could feel the aroma around. All thanks to the team helped me to get to taste what I liked from the menu. A must-visit place 😋👍🏼

We went there around 7pm on Friday for dine in with kids they asked us to wait upstairs then later moved us to downstairs. We ordered chicken and lamb dishes. Within 10-15 mins food arrived. Lamb was very hard and chewy seems like few days old and very dry and tough. When I complained the guys said he will inform the kitchen and went away. We just continued eating chicken dish with naan and almost finished our food but still waiting for our lamb biryani to arrive. Again we asked how long it will take and was told another 10 mins. This was past 8pm. We told them to cancel our Briyani order and i refused to pay for lamb dish which we couldn’t eat or enjoy due to quality of lamb. Total waste of time.

Craving true Indian flavours, try Bawarchi Restaurant in Sandringham, Central Auckland city. Decent flavours, portions and reasonable prices! Not my first time, highly recommended 🤌

I don’t want to give them even one star they guys don’t deserve it Order chicken biryani for my dinner and it had hair in biryani after complaint to one of there team member he said need to check the camera. I recommend don’t visit there I don’t know how they get food safety certificate. They guys are so careless it’s matter of someone life don’t you guys deserve to run the restaurant. Better to visit Paradise you can check the pictures of food

Best place for biryani. Been with my kids and had a great time having tandoori chicken and tandoori fish. Kids enjoyed the fish. The quantity is worth the value. Whenever I visit and really appreciate hospitality by manager Akram.

Decent food decent portion sizes. It appears the owners or chef may have changed since the last time I’ve visited this place as the quality has dipped a bit. The customer service really needs to improve, the person serving us was completely uninterested and did not answer questions about the food.

Last night, we decided to try out the vegetable Schezwan fried rice and chicken biryani from this place. We made our order at 8:30, eagerly anticipating a delicious meal. However, when we finally enjoyed our dinner at midnight, we were disappointed to find that the food had gone stale. We approached the shop with a request for a replacement, hoping for a positive resolution, but unfortunately, they were unable to accommodate us and their response was not as cooperative as we had hoped. While we understand that everyone can have an off day, it's important to consider such experiences when deciding where to order your next meal from. We believe in giving businesses a chance to improve, so we hope they take our feedback constructively and work towards maintaining the quality of their offerings in the future.

Went there yesterday to order some takeaways, got told there will be a 15min wait. We patiently waited then after about 30 min went to query where I order was. Got told there was a technical issue and the food will be ready in 5 more min. After 10mins went to enquire again and was told that orders weren't being sent to the back due to technical issues. Asking for this to be resolved the staff laughed at us as we queried why it was taking so long saying its a technical issue. Could the order not just be written and passed to the kitchen also why laugh at us as we asked what was happening this is just downright rude and disrespectful. Don't expect me back anytime soon if this is the quality of service offered

Loved the biryani’s every time we had from here (I’m commenting on Evening’s only in the restaurant not the buffet) , found the buffet food not as great as the normal restaurant. Glad that it’s still consistent unlike other places around town.

See my receipt. Do not buy any of these. Our dinner was spoiled by extreme Oil and chilly in curry. We will never return this place. It looks like All Sandringham restaurant start expanding their business by downgrading the quality of their food and robbing their customer. No more Sandringham food.

As a non-Indian, I love Indian food, but this restaurant was unusual. We went there for a family dinner since we wanted to try something different, but if you're not Indian, I wouldn't recommend it. We ordered a medium, which was way too hot for us; we could only take three bites of the dish, before drinking a whole glass of water, but it was tasty. The food arrived quickly, but the overall service was lacking. Some of our friends liked this place when it was a buffet, but today it just appears to be a little dine-in restaurant with little to no offer.

Blah blah blah Sandringham curry. Blah blah blah Paradise. Bawarchi has everything the other place I won't name has and more. Like aubergine curry. This curry rules. Great for blowing vegetarian minds about the possibilities of curry. I'm not veg and I get this when I can.

Appalled at the poor service after a long association with the restaurant. Had the absolute displeasure of ordering from Bawarchi for our guests. The order was placed well in advance and upon picking it up (and paying in full) some items were missing. Having called them up and explaining the situation (and embarrassment in front of our guests) the person on the phone has the audacity to say “come back to pick it up, we’re busy”. To state the obvious we had to drive there and back (one hour), with guests already at home waiting for the starters. No compensation or refund was given despite asking for it prior to us going there. After the ordeal, we were happy to finally serve our guests, without any further embarrassment, however the food ordered put us to further shame. The shechwan fried rice was literally food color with chillies paired with the garlic chicken that only tasted of pepper powder and chilli powder. It was the most awkward situation for us, after having specified a mild-to-medium level of spice, our guests (all of a medium spice tolerance) clould not eat anything. This was not the first time we’ve ordered these items, but surely the last time we’re ever ordering from them. Will suggest to be very careful before deciding to get food from Bawarchi. Poor standards, poor food, poor customer service and lack of respect.

I have never seen kadahi paneer so red. It was just sweet. I could have just eaten sugar at home. It was sweeter than sprite.

Excellent Indian food. This is our third visit and the food is consistently good and reasonably priced. It'sa small informal restaurant, no frills, but don't let that fool you. If you like Indian food, you'll likely come back for more.

I have tried their Butter chicken (22$), 65 chicken (8$) and krela masala (8$). Their butter chicken is definitely my favourite. Love how they are selling halal desi food. 😍 thanks a lot

Was disappointed in how the quality has dropped over the years. The girl at the service and the guy at the counter were running everywhere. No complaints against them. But after paying a $145 bill, you don't expect food which is off. The keema used to be my favorite thing, I'm not sure how they let it go so bad. The naan bread was rubbery. The biryani was clearly old too. Not going there for again in the near future. P.s. The 2 stars are onlybfor the service. Both the people were too busy. Much appreciated.

the Biriyani at this place is one of the best around, Highly recommend this for take away. the family size pack while on the signage says can feed 4-5 i think it can easily feed more. worth the money with great quality. Also had the chicken lollipop here as well. i haven't had many variations of these but can say it was juicy and fatty and all the things you want your chicken to be. I will be back and i will be telling my friends

Food is very cold and tasteless I have to say that on my second visit it's been the same experience. I asked the staff about it and her reply was to stir it and it'll be warm. (🤣) I'll consider it my last time here as I'm a food lover but also appreciate value for money. Thanks but no thanks
