Beautiful walk up. There are about 3 entrances and parking lots. Lots of people doing their walks and runs from 7am. Generally an easy walk up, steep in some areas. Only takes about 50mins to walk up and back. Great views of the city. So lovely and refreshing 😍 You get a decent workout and park is dog-friendly. Just such a shame that the visitor centre and café were closed. Would've loved to know more about this precious maunga.

It's a pretty mountain in the city. They have paths for you to walk up, bike ride to the top of the mountain. If you like to explore going up your way, you can do it. If you love dogs or you have a dog, you should come here. Many people take them here for walks and let them play together. They are so friendly and adorable

Its an absolutely stunning walk, from the top you can look on to beautiful view of our City. The walk has been made fun and easier for kids who love to climb stairs up the hill. Plus the view platform is perfect for anyone to sit down, relax and enjoy the stunning view of this bustling City.

Just a great little walk, which ends with a great view of Auckland, which looks a lot better from a height. You can see the distance landscape and all iconic buildings. The crater itself is really cool to see. The use of the odd drone I could have done without

Beautiful place with stunning views from top. Walkways are too good with lot of lookout points. Very well maintained. Physically challenged or people with limited mobility are allowed to drive to the summit. Only issue is less parking space. But other than that everything is just too good. They can consider adding more options for food.

This was a highly-accessible and well-maintained park with several access points, paths of varying length and ease, and great panoramic views of the city. We enjoyed learning about the crater while soaking in the sights.

Such a spectacular free view of the city from the highest volcano in Auckland! Mount Eden is a deep huge crater covered with bright green grass and it offers a panoramic view of the city. Visitors can drive up to the summit and take a short walk to reach the crater. Parking was easy and public toilets are also available. It was very breezy at the summit and it was nice to take a stroll around the crater. A very highly recommended place to visit in Auckland!

Great scenic walk. Very much recommended for a stroll. Lots of different walks you can do. There's an option to drive up to some closer parking or you can walk up from the base. The toilets are clear and there are 10 available with handicap and child changing rooms.

Best place to look at whole Auckland from a single View point. Very Scenic and gorgeous. A small advise, when you are going there, better to look at weather before you go. Prefer to go in a Sunny Weather, although rainy weather has its own charm if you don't mind getting wet. Also, it is on a crater. So , you might like it if you are into nature.

It was backlight when I went in the morning. Nevertheless the view of the whole Auckland is amazing. There are 2 entrances, in which 1 requires 20-30 mins of walking while the other only requires 5 mins of walking to the lookout point.

Despite the rain, Mount Eden was a beautiful gift to crown our visit to New Zealand. It gave a view of Auckland that was complete, satisfying, and embracing. The cafe was very welcome to warm us up before making our way back to the airport. Best was it wasn't crowded. But then, nowhere was crowded.

This park is great, second time here and i am as amazed as the first time with the green of the place and how beautifull it is. The new (to me) walkway around the crater is great but it would be great if there were more signs saying that is prohibited to get inside the crater, as many kids were wanting to go in because they weren't any signs saying that they shouldn't. 4 or 5 years ago there were more signs explaining how the ecosystem of the crater was very delicate and shouldn't be disturbed.

Great place for a walk with amazing view. You can walk through the trees and around the rim of the volcanic crater.

Great hike in central Auckland. The incline isn’t too steep and the view on top is great. Wish we were here on a clear day, but it was still pretty on a cloudy one. Good for people who don’t hike too often or people who want to get a quick workout in.

Quick drive from Auckland CBD. Parking easily accessible. Quick hike to the top. There was a walkway with stairs but also a shortcut through the grass. The view from the top was quite nice. Could see almost all of Auckland and the other mountains. There was some construction at the summit so part of the walkway was closed.

We had a bit of trouble finding the place to park. We managed to park in some residential areas and walk up some steep stairs towards the mountain. After the stairs, it's a rather steep walk-up slope to the top. The view is spectacular, and we can see the sky tower and one tree hill from the top. It's worth making a visit if you like walking and hiking. Lots of local run up the top, and we saw some cyclist ride all the way up.

We parked at the parking lot close to the Visitor Center. From there it is a relatively short walk uphill to the top. Once at the top, the path makes a loop around the Crater and there are several viewing platforms to stop and enjoy the various views from. The walking paths are well maintained and the view from the top is stunning. After our walk we popped into the visitor center. There is a small cafe and a few displays that have information on Mount Eden and other nearby places. There is a theater room in the back that plays a short 10ish minute video.

Beautiful place especially at the top. A little bit of climb and but I managed to push a stroller all the way up till the hilltop, so it's pram-friendly.

Great spot to get a 365 view. You can drive most of the way up and then a short walk to the crater. Better views of Auckland than paying for the skytower and 100% free.

Stunning views of the whole auckland and an amazing volcanic crater to see. It is definitely a must visit place

We are glad to visit on a sunny day. Beautiful views on the way up, and even amazing when you reach the top. Parking is limited.

Incredible views that’s a relatively easy and short walk up that’s fully pathed though a little steep at times. Short bus trip to/from Aotea Square in the CBD via route 25B or 25L.

Such a beautiful place with a long history of aboriginal tribes. Make sure you visit the visitor experience center to learn about the place and use the interactive tablet. The short film screening was helpful, too.

Maungawhau is the Mt. Vesuvius of Auckland. The area is a sacred place for the Māori, which they share to the public. Respect is needed when you visit the site. The way to the summit is already breathtaking. When you reach the top, the 360° view of Auckland is simply indescribable. You can see how incredibly beautiful Auckland is and how the nature merges with the city itself. I personally think this is a must-visit park at par with Cornwall park. Sharing some vids and pics for you to savour.

It's a nice walk and a good exercise as it's uphill. Offers a good view of Auckland city, lots people walking their dogs in the morning. There was a construction when we went there so part of the viewing points were inaccessible.

Just a 15 mins walk uphill and you get such beautiful views. Worth it. Beautiful sunset, sea view, many dogs prancing around happy, not too crowded, loved it.

A short (some stairs and incline) and wonderfully rewarding walk when starting from cafe. A clear day provides breathtaking 360 degree viewing of Aukland and harbor islands.

Epic views of Auckland city Toilets right before the climb up to summit Bus tour parking Trip can be done in 25mins (loop of the summit and climb)

Most underrated volcano in the world. Brilliant walk up and around this site with stunning views of the city, Waitaks, islands and the South. Only major irritation is the lack of drinking water. Nearest fountain is at the toilet down near the kids playground which is frustrating because there’s plumbing midway for the group of toilets, just another wondering infrastructure fail in our country.

Great place to show kid volcano crater and see Auckland city from top. There is a great cafe too Friend and Whanau, good food with spacious dining hall. Love this.

Nice place for an excellent view of auckland. Cool to see the remnants of the old volcanic history of this place.

What a view! This is one of my favorite places to take international guests when they visit NZ. It's the perfect place to get a feel for the city. The new boardwalk is great though could have been made wider. Note you can no longer drive up, but it's only a short leisurely walk to the top. Views at dusk into sunset are stunning!
