This place is incredible. I've had gyros in Greece (that were amazing) and the gyro here was even better. My husband had the liver and onions which were also supurb. The ambiance was comforting and the staff were very nice.

The chef gave us a choice of beautiful steaks and custom cooked them. Absolutely fantastic, best meal we've had in a while. Highly recommend. Would go again! My apologies for the cheap tip my husband left ☹️

Very homie place and great food. Customer service is excellent. The owner Jimmy came out and sat next to us to explain the food(since it was our first time) and was telling us what plates he sold the most. The waitress "Paula" was very nice and helpful also. My wife got the enchiladas and I got the "Gerald's APD special" which is a burger steak toped with fries and cheese whit your choice of red or green chile, I got both which is called Christmas. I took a picture of the APD special, it was so delicious. Next time I will try the sheriff's special which instead of the burger steak it's with pork chops😋.

It's got a western diner feel. The owner is the main cook. The food is delicious and you can see the pride in the way it is made. Staff is super kind and caring even when my nonverbal but very noisy autistic 4 y/o comes with us. Highly recommend the bronco buster! Adding a pic of the biscuits and gravy.

Coming down on a random Monday, I was very well pleased. They absolutely provide phenomenal service! They stand out because the are one of the FEW places open past 8pm to feed hungry people, give amazing service, AND be super cool. From there personalized service of the owner coming by and talking to his attentive wait staff, I feel sorry for anyone trying to compete 😁. HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO EAT HERE ✅

Very unique dinning experience! This dinner is frozen in time, back to our parents and grandparents generation. The kitchen is open so you can chat with the cook that is preparing your food, in fact as you leave he will ask how you enjoyed everything, maintaining that cook to guest connection. Everything on the menu is a special treat, some items you won’t find in other restaurants such as the liver and onions, in house made chicken fried steak and more. Everything tasted fresh and made in house from the soup of the day to the mashed potatoes, they don’t cut any corners here, and you surly won’t be leaving hungry. This dinner showcases the vibrant culture of dinners along Route 66. If your are visiting or live in ABQ, you need to come and enjoy a meal at the Western View!

An ok diner, I tried the chicken fried steak. It is far from healthy, the batter was way too thick and salty for my taste. Biscuit also not great. There was only one other table sitting when I was there and the servers were not at all attendant.

My girlfriend and I have been coming here often. Good food and great staff. Especially the owner. He’s very professional and goes out of his way to make us happy. The place also has a great classic feel to it. I highly recommend

Had an absolutely delicious steak here. I ordered the sirloin, the chef (possibly the owner?), came out and offered a substitution of an Australian New York strip cut. It was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Served with some yummy mashed potatoes and gravy. My boyfriend ordered the chicken fried steak, which was also really tasty. Highly recommend! I will definitely be returning.

I really loved the atmosphere 💗 The staff was very friendly! We received great service from all the staff. The cook was very kind and made sure everything tasted great. Just the experience was wonderful. I ordered the Mexican Combination #2 it was so delicious and very filling! I would definitely go again.

One of the last old time diners. I loved to come to this place with my grandfather when I was still in single digits. So, steak fingers with enchiladas was my choice. Three steak fingers cooked to a crispy perfection outside and tender, juicy meat inside along two cheese enchiladas made Christmas (red and green chile for those that are just passing through New Mexico) and with a fried egg on top. Served with crispy fried potatoes and beans, chased down with the finest diner coffee anywhere! A very substantial meal, indeed. The chef knows his stuff so well, his hands fly over the flattop while greeting customers that sit at the counter. The servers never let me see the bottom of my cup and greeted all the customers with a smile. I love this place!

The location has a definite retro coffee shop vibe. The menu is a wide variety of choices, so we decided to taste several dishes. Everything was fresh and hot food was served hot, cold foods were cold. The following is what I'd recommend trying: French dressing, onion rings, guacamole, rib eye steak, baklava, & cherry pie.

This place was cute. The enchiladas were subpar, in my opinion. This might be because we're used to Tex-Mex, though. The fries and steak were under seasoned, but they nailed the medium rare coloring. The gentleman that came to our table to tell us about his favorite plates was super friendly and made my family feel very welcome.

The waiters where so sweet and took my order quickly. The food had good seasoning and was overall very good. The owner is very nice he comes and asks how the food is, he always has a smile on his face. Overall one of the best places to eat on central.

I Just ate the most beautiful Chicken Fried Steak of my life here. It was hand breaded and fried, and just straight up looked and tasted amazing. I have loved coming here for the past 10 years, and the CFS has always been handmade and good, but the cook really knocked it out of the park this weekend. I am a CFS freak, so it is awesome that I have a good spot to get an excellent from scratch cfs dinner or breakfast. My son kept stealing bites, which was helpful or I would have had to beach myself somewhere in the parking lot if he hadn't. The mashed potatoes were homemade and excellent well, as were the vegetables. I love the laid back classic diner atmosphere, and the well executed classic diner and New Mexican food at good prices no less. Classic quality diners are getting harder to come by, and the good ones deserve local support, and are also great for tourists who want to get the real, classic, Route 66 vibe. If you like chicken fried steak, or just a laid back classic diner, get your butt in there and try it. Just an update: As one might expect the Chicken Fried Chicken is on point too. It was so pretty I took a picture and thought I’d throw it on here. I should also add that the service is friendly and excellent.

Best chicken fried steak I've had. Green Chile is definitely a bonus!
