AVOID At All COSTS!! I went to Lovelace Urgent Care on Jefferson after experiencing lower back pain with sharp pains and numbness radiating down my right leg. The front staff and student who took my vitals were wonderful, then nurse "ratchet" walked in and was extremely rude. She told me there was nothing they could do for me with a careless, apathetic attitude. At this point, I'm in so much pain, without getting any advice on what to do. I inquired about pain meds and was made to feel ashamed for asking. I was finally given two shots and a prescription for mild pain, which was just handed to me without any explanation of what I was being prescribed. I asked the student if she could get the NP so she could explain the meds, and the NP walked in the room extremely bugged. I woke up the next morning not being able to walk and had to go to UNM ER. I was diagnosed with a fracture in my lower vertebrate (Pars Defect), and Spondylolisthesis, which was causing sciatica. The level of care in both patient emotional and physical care was 100% better at UNM than Lovelace. I will never, ever, go back to Lovelace!!

Showed up the Lovelace Urgent Care on Jefferson at 3:30pm to be turned away. One couple waiting in the area, only couple on the entire 1st floor of building. Receptionist was buzy looking at nails, asked if I was there to be see for urgent care, of course I was otherwise I would be there. She immediately said they were at capacity, should back the following day. Asked if they took appointments, answer no they don't. For the record I've been with Lovelace doctors since the Lovelace was on Gibson SE. Daughter told me to try Presbyterian Urgent Care on Harper, made an appointment that night was seen the next day. Seen by a nurse who took vitals, history and tested for covid, strep, and flu. When the doctor came in he had results and checked for possible sinus and pneumonia. Prescribe medication and instructions for home care. They were professional and concerned about my health and care. I want to state I'm not a member of the Presbyterian Medical Healthcare or insurance plan. I was informed that if ever there was an occasion of urgent care Presbyterian had an urgent care opened 24/7 . My suggestion to Lovelace Medical Group, if your are going to offer urgent care get well trained staff, offer the option to schedule an appointment and hire more professional staff. If Presbyterian can offer walk in and appointments, ask how they handle the scheduling and offer 24/7 urgent care. From now on Presbyterian Urgent Care is where I'll go if there is a need not requiring the ER

This location for Lovelace is awful. Went for urgent care due to bad symptoms from covid. 2 people in waiting room, 4:30pm. They turned me away because they were “full”. In so cal with Kaiser urgent care this time of year there were usually 50 people plus waiting. Whoever does practice management for this location needs some education. I worked in healthcare for 20 years. Just deplorable. And also their attitude was awful. AVOID

I have been here once before and had an uncaring young female provider & hate coming in urgent care for anything since BUT I went in today again to get treated because I had a horrible cold and Dr. Jeffery Thomas saw me and I well say, he was so very caring, prosssional and informative. He got me out the door to feel better with medications. I commented the nurse who worked with him also and she told me he's the medical director who comes to help when short handed. Wow! Your awesome Dr.Thomas. Thank you. I wish more providers were like you. You are truly God sent.

Worst urgent care facility I've been to in my 60+ years. The doctors refused to do any diagnostic testing. They dismissed my condition and told me that my pain "was not their problem" (that's a direct quote). They wrote in my medical chart that my condition was not urgent, which has made it much more difficult for me to get the help that I need. Worst of all, the condition never resolved but instead got significantly worse. I tried again at PresNow and have consequently had to be hospitalized, which is where I am now. The contrast between Lovelace and Presbyterian urgent care (and now hospital) could not be more stark. At Presbyterian my pain and consequent sequelae are being acknowledged and treated, rather than dismissed, and I am getting all the diagnostics required to find answers. Consider yourself strongly warned. Stay away from Lovelace.

Outstanding care by NP Brittany Dow! She was skilled, polite, and very caring! She immediately diagnosed my medical issue and resolved it, allowing to me to walk out with treatment that reduced pain and discomfort. She saved me a trip to the emergency room! I’m grateful for her attention and skills!

I was able to get a same day appointment. I was treated in a timely professional manner. This was my first time at this location, I will definitely be back for future medical urgent care needs.

I went to Lovelace Urgent care early this morning and had a positive experience. Everyone was pleasant and professional and it didn't take long to get in and out. I would suggest the earlier you walk in the better. Another patient I talked with in the waiting room said that she went to Pres the night before and people had been waiting 6 hours.

Staff were friendly and Liz Kirk,NP was very nice and compassionate. Radiology tech and MA were both kind. I found the process very efficient and was able to avoid going to ER!

NP-C Holly Stafford is GREAT!!! I found Holly very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and calming to chat with. She took all the time I needed to answer my questions and concerns. Couldn't be more pleased with her service. Brittney was also excellent to work with--equally friendly, through and efficient. JO'B

This place is great! I called and made an appointment, today. Just a few minutes after I arrived, I was brought back for vitals and triage. Then they brought me to a treatment room. Again, it was just a few minutes before a provider joined me. Diagnosis and the creation of a treatment plan went smoothly, too. NP Liz is an excellent provider.

Don't go here! Waited 3 hours to get seen then was told people coming in for any kind of testing were being prioritized first. I came in w/ an ear ache i had for 5 days w/ pain, drainage, lymph nodes swollen, ringing and i couldn't hear out of my right ear. This is urgent care for sick people not a testing site!

Never go there with a baby . They don’t even know how to check a pulse . Update Emailed this person below no email back, tried calling. They really don’t care. I went in today for a wellness checkup on my baby and the nurse one didn’t know how to weigh my baby, didn’t know how to check a blood pressure either then she had the audacity to come in to give my baby shots. The idiocracy is astounding.

I had a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE at this Lovelace Urgent Care located on Jefferson & Osuna. On Nov 2 2023 I went in and tested positive for strep. Had severe inflammation in my throat and was given a steroid shot. The following day (November 3 2023) I woke up with the worst pain in my eyes, a lot of discharge coming from my eyes and this impacted my vision. I called in to Lovelace to let them know if they can get ahold of the NP Ms.Liz Kirk (who helped me the night before in urgent care) to let her know what I was experiencing. I was called back later and told by this rep that I had to go in to urgent care to address these new symptoms. I let her know I was going to go in the evening hence I don't have a babysitter for my kids. I asked her for the hours of operation and she assured me that as long as I'm there by 7 30pm I would be seen. I arrived at the clinic at 7 13pm. and was told Lovelace was no longer accepting patients for the night. I let the receptionist know I was in severe pain, my symptoms had worsened and that I was having trouble seeing. She stated she would talk with the doctor and see if she might be able to see me. After waiting a while I was told that the NP who is MS. LIZ KIRK stated she could NOT see me and was busy. I pleaded with the receptionist and asked her if there was ANYONE who could help me or at least talk with me about my symptoms. She said she was sorry that Ms. LIZ KIRK was unwilling to have a conversation with me about my symptoms and left it at that. I then requested to speak with a manager. A rep by the name of La Tashia came to the desk she stated she was the supervisor, I let her know how I was feeling etc. She then proceeded to give me a dirty look while laughing at me. I asked her why she was laughing at me when I was in so much pain she then continued to laugh and said "if you really were in an urgent medical state we would see you". I then said if i can just get SOME KIND OF HELP. I could not drive in the state I was in. She told me I can go somewhere else and told me she was going to call security to get me out. Security did later arrive and told me I needed to leave. I have NEVER been treated like this. MS.LIZ KIRK refused to even talk with me and refused to help me. I expected a lot more from Lovelace but was treated with no empathy and TERRIBLY. It's unfortunate that Lovelace is hiring individuals who should be genuinely empathetic and passionate to care for their patients but INSTEAD have no empathy and won't even help a patient who is in need.

I went to the ER on October 17th due to a fall on October 8th. I was suppose to schedule an aftercare visit with my Primary doctor and also an MRI. I was unable to schedule a follow-up ER visit with my primary doctor because they are fully book until the New Year now. He suggested (by message in My Chart) that I schedule an appointment with any open doctor, but no doctors have any open appointments. This is outrageous! How can I receive after care for a fall or serious illness with no appointments available. On October 30th , I was told the front desk at Jefferson would call me back, I am still waiting for that call it is now November 7th. Since I had concern I decided to try your Urgent care at Jefferson on October 31st, they were good but had no clear answer for my concerns. They schedule a follow-up with Podiatry, which I have not received a call from yet. Also they prescribe some antibiotics which was suppose to be picked up at Walgreens, but Walgreens never receive the prescription. I attempted to contact EC by phone but your phone system doesn’t allow patient calls to front desks. So I had to relay a message about my missing prescription to another person, who said the messages would show up in My Chart. Well they did not show in my chart, so I called back and was told it was a My Chart issue and to contact My Chart helpdesk. Which I did (why I do not understand), They were vary nice but had no answer as to why this type of messages would not show in My Chart. I then message my primary doctor again as follows “That was a waste of time, they will not connect to the front desk, just send them a message which apparently is not workinng for urgent care because they do not show up in my chart and my chart helpdesk which they sent me to says they are apparently not entering the messages correctly. So never mind I will just stop by urgent care again in the morning after my night shift directly to get some answers from someone.” My primary was nice enough to contact the EC desk and have them call me and inform me that the prescription was entered incorrectly and now it was sent to Walgreens. I feel that this type of care is unreasonable, to go to an ER and then not be able to schedule a follow-up appointment with your primary is outrageous. It seems all you care about is filling every available appointment slot so you can treat us like cattle going to slaughter, so you make you money. What ever happen to caring about each patient and having a primary doctor available when you need them and not 6 months later?
