Enjoyable stop here for sure. $3 self pay to enter. They do have change at the visitor station. They also offer credit card QR code pay, but we didn’t have service there. Lovely trails to walk for all fitness levels and all ages. Easy walk to see the Rio Grande, maps easy to follow, staff/volunteers inside the visitor center were helpful as well. Super clean bathrooms as well! 1/2 day easily spent here. My favorite was the hummingbird station they had set up over the marsh. Swarming with hummers…. So pretty and peaceful there! ❤️

Visiting ABQ for the holidays and love every opportunity to get outside. This park was an awesome getaway! Well maintained paved and dirt paths, nicely covered by trees, with views of the river front and wildlife reserves. We saw several people out, but felt plenty of elbow room and enjoyed the fresh air! We’ll be back, for sure. Hoping to see some more of the wildlife in the future.

$3 self pay entry.. great place for a peaceful day out.. number of accessible trails, relatively flat and suitable for all ages. Number of ponds with turtles, bird watching platforms/bluffs.. Can literally walk up to Rio Grande banks.. can spend anywhere from an hour to half a day..

There's a lot of trash next to the Rio, which is unfortunate. The trails themselve were well-maintained, though. People were walking dogs off-leash, because of course they were. Better signage there would be appreciated. The bathrooms weren't in the best condition either. Overall, though, I enjoy the space a lot.

This State Park is in the city of Albuquerque, NM. It's a hidden gem. Very beautiful and peaceful place to visit. Very wide trails throughout park and some take to the Rio Grande River and its beauty. Many places to sit and observe waterfowl, birds and much more. The gift shop and information center looks like you are entering a bunker. Wonderful displays with pictures a out the waterfowl, wetlands, the Bosque and much more. There is an observation area where you can sit and observe the Turtles sunbathing and fantastic view of the water. Wonderful place if you just want to go for a gorgeous walk and learn about nature. The whole family can benefit from a trip here.

Had a great experience with the most friendly rangers walking us around and explaining everything. We did not see a ton of birds because we went a bit later in the day but enjoyed the experience.

Beautiful park, well maintained paths, easy access to the river, we got to enjoy the birds and saw a coyote running in the distance. Plenty of squirrels too.

Stopped by on our way through town. $3 for a day pass. Once we figured out where the start of the trail was that leads to everything, we had a great experience! It's to the left as soon as you enter the parking lot. There is a small sign that says dogs not allowed on the trails. This could be better advertised before entering the park and paying for admission. The nature center and shop was very neat. It has an awesome viewing room of the river with a live sound feed so you can hear the waterfowl splashing and making noise. There is a big children's room with various activities such as coloring, puzzles, a sand table with animal foot print stamps, as well as more. If we lived here we'd definitely bring our kids often!

The Rio Grande Nature Center is one of my favorite places in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is the perfect place to walk, bird watch, connect with nature, and learn about what the beautiful Bosque has to offer. Great place to take the family or enjoy by yourself. If you haven't already, I highly recommend visiting this wonderful ecosystem.

The visitor center features a gift shop and exhibits about the wetland, its plants, and animals, along with an indoor wildlife viewing area overlooking the pond. Outside, there’s an additional viewing area and 1.2 miles of trails throughout the State Park.

If you do not have $3 in exact change, look for the QR code on the bulletin board above the payment box. It's a bit convoluted (you go through the campsite reservation system and select for a day pass at this park). Great for birding if you are quiet. Some motorized bikes on trails, in addition to commuting and pleasure bikes on paved bike path system. Level and wide paths suitable for beach wheelchairs.

They charge $3 per veichle the pay envelopes are so confusing they need to figure out a better system I rarely see any wildlife however last time a coyote ran right past me and tried to ambush a flock of Canadian geese in the field close to the candelaria wetland so you might get lucky once in awhile

Lots to do and see. The viewing areas are strategic. I got a Slo-MO video of hummingbirds feeding. Connects to the River Loop Trail. We continued on to the Aldo Leonard Forest Trail.

Very nice walks to the Rio Grande with a small visitor center and shop. Most of the paths are accessible and there is a paved bike path going through the park. The blinds for bird and turtle watching enhanced the viewing.

My visit to the Rio Grande Nature Center was a great introduction to the Bosque ecosystem of New Mexico. The visitor's center is very well designed and features a wide spiral ramp with several view blinds overlooking a large pond. It's a perfect spot to immerse yourself in the local ecology, and the numerous informative displays enriched our understanding of the area's wildlife. The staff were very friendly and helpful, eager to answer questions and share their knowledge. There was a room with floor-to-ceiling glass that provided an uninterrupted view of the pond. We were treated to the sight of several turtles basking in the sun on logs. What struck me most was a beautiful statement from one of the staff members. They mentioned that many visitors come to the center for the first time as children, brought by their parents or on class field trips. Then, as adults, they return with their own children. It truly emphasizes the enduring value of nature centers like this one, a place to allow multiple generations to explore and appreciate nature, fostering a lifelong connection to the environment. We, like the migratory waterfowl, exist within the cycles of nature and one day, we too will return.

We just went yesterday, and must say. It is gorgeous and very peaceful. Not much to see this time of year, but for us that wasn't an issue. We just needed somewhere quiet along our road trip that wasn't a bustling street or snow covered mountain. Did see a few different birds, sadly no cranes or porcupines in the trees. But really enjoyed the long trails around the park, and the large bike path as well. You cannot have dogs or bikes in the actual nature centre area, it must be across the bridge and into the park. It does cost $3 for parking all day, not at all costly considering you're helping fund a safe habitat and education centre. I'm certain in the spring and summer it is extraordinary, since there is a pollinator garden, the river and channel both are lined with cottonwood trees and brush, and there is a possibility of many types of birds migrating through. The visitor center has great information, small and quaint we enjoyed speaking with the older gentleman working there. Definitely recommend stopping in.

We had a fantastic time. The visitor center closes at 4 and they stayed open just for us. A must see in ABQ!

Very informative visitor center. It was a lot of fun visiting this place and I’d say it’s a must to visit while in ABQ. Parking $3 per car and it cash or check only. Building has free Wi-Fi hotspot

I liked this place since it allows you to stroll all the way to the Rio Grande river which was special since I am a great fan of flowing water bodies and vegetation around them. I could see a host of birds out there as well

Go for a walk and learn all about our city’s river on the next beautiful day. The nature center is well-maintained and informative. It has educational displays about local ecosystems, a quiet room for watching birds, and a children’s room filled with of activities to keep even a toddler busy. Make sure to wander through the native plant garden before you leave!

Great place for a quiet walk. Saw lots of different birds. The Nature Center building has some interesting displays about the Albuquerque area and the Rio Grande. No coffee shop but good toilet facilities. They have a free water bottle refill station. Parking is 3 dollar's cash.

Very cool place. Great visitor center. Kids loved the viewing areas. We saw several animals we have never seen before. Trail was easy but the stones and steps are a challenge for wheelchairs and strollers. We didn’t have any cell service. There is wifi available near the visitor center but it is only free for 10 minutes. To pay for parking, make sure you have $3 and a pen that can write on carbon copy paper.

Has some really nice walking and biking trails. Also has several waterfowl viewing stations. Some are outside and one is inside the visitor center. They also have a lot of cool displays and resources at the visitor center. I've been there twice and want to go back more. It connects to even more extensive walking and biking trails along the waterway outside of the park nearby. It costs $3 per vehicle per day to get into the park but is well worth it.
