An
elegant
hotel
in
a
great
location.
Not
worth
the
very
high
rates,
however.
My
very
large
room
was
elegant
but
austere
-
armchairs
too
hard
to
sit
on
comfortably,
decor
in
an
unrelentingly
depressing
scheme
of
gray,
beige,
and
black.
Even
Chaco
Canyon
itself
(the
structures
of
which
are
evoked
in
the
hotel
design)
has
warmer
colors!
The
balcony
was
great,
but
it
faced
the
courtyard,
which
on
the
weekend
when
I
stayed
was
rather
busy
and
noisy
with
private
party
guests.
The
tasting
room
featuring
New
Mexico
wines
and
spirits
was
closed
-
no
bartender,
according
to
the
front
desk
staff
-
and
the
lovely
rooftop
restaurant
(which
oddly
has
NO
wines
or
spirits
from
New
Mexico)
requires
a
reservation
just
to
walk
in
and
get
a
cocktail,
let
alone
have
dinner.
No
preferential
treatment
for
hotel
guests,
either.
There’s
no
room
service.
There
is
another
bar
on
the
lobby
level,
thankfully.
The
best
thing
about
this
hotel
is
that
it’s
right
across
the
street
from
Sawmill
Market,
a
wonderful
food
hall
offering
every
kind
of
cuisine
imaginable.
Parking
is
also
easy,
since
there’s
a
large
public
lot
just
south
of
the
hotel
valet
lot,
but
you
get
charged
for
parking
(as
part
of
their
“resort
fee”)
whether
you
use
the
valet
or
not.
I
don’t
mind
paying
high
room
rates
for
a
wonderful
lodging
experience,
and
have
done,
but
this
wasn’t.
All
in
all
it’s
too
expensive
for
the
amenities
you
actually
get.
