I didn't get to see it. You have to have an appointment. The classroom door was shut, in other words it's not really a museum. It's just a room with meteorites.

It's a room in a college, and unlike the websites that say they offer meteorite testing, they don't. That's ok I used the one online, and now the rare pallasite I have confirmed, but had to pay someone out of my own town to do it because they lied, so much for donating the proceeds to this place, we had planned on doing it to the college actually, but after going there and having them snicker about it, and then say no, glad we chose a different place to donate too. We are independently wealthy and didn't care about this meteorite, only wanted to find a good home, obviously didn't realize just how much it was worth either, so we will be keeping a large chunk of the profit. The place desperately needs donations too, looks like a 70's building with a few new decorations. Total dump.

I think this is a great place for kids who have a scientific bent towards astronomy or the natural sciences in general. I came here when I was a kid and loved it. The collection is great. However, there is no getting around the fact that you will most likely need a scientific bent, or an interest in rocks, astronomy, etc. to appreciate this place. Have fun!

Great introduction to a specialized topic. Interesting display of rock and iron meteorites. Not a place to bring young kids... its just a large room on a college campus. Worth a stop at least once.

Very quiet, great specimens and quite informative. If you're going to be at UNM, you should check out this free museum!
