Visiting ABQ for the weekend and wanted something quick but local. We came closer to closing but every one was friendly and the restaurant was clean. We got the Indian taco and the cheese enchilada. Both were delicious! Plenty of food!

Our first stop on our first visit to New Mexico. Delicious. Fresh ingredients. Excellent knowledgeable friendly service. I liked the way the wait staff all worked together. We had a ground beef chimichanga and the hand rolled tacos. Both were the best we’ve ever had. The pork marinated in red sauce is awesome too. We’re only in town for 5 days and are already planning to come back back for breakfast.

This one hits the trifecta. Great food, solid Service and good prices. I had the Chile Rellanos with the adobada stuffing and a small cup of posole. Quality of the food was on point and the friendly faces definitely added to the overall experience. Nice job Monroe’s.

Holy cow this place was great. We were on vacation in Albuquerque and needed our Tex Mex fix. This was one of the only places that popped up in the city nearby, so we decided to give it a try. It was super clean. Looks newly renovated. The service was quick and friendly. The employees all work together nicely. The salsa was a little spicy, the chips thick and salty. There are many different options to choose from on the menu from vegetarian to gluten free. We got salads, an enchilada, a taco, and a sopaipilla. All of them were hot, fresh and ready, and of course, delicious. The prices were reasonable and the bathrooms were taken care of and clean, a bit small, but did the job. I highly recommend this place for the Tex Mex lover.

The food was awesome! The service was great! And the red chili and German was good. The red chili they ask you if you want it with pork or none! Try the pork! It’s good! First time trying their restaurant and other then that always buy their red chili at the super market . Very good. We’ll be back when we are back in town.

Ordered the combo plate and the carne adovada plate with sweet potato fries. The portion sizes were very generous and our servers were very friendly and attentive. The environment is clean and I enjoyed the effect the skylight had in the dining area while we ate. The sopapillas were delicious as well, I recommend.

We ate at Monroe's on our first night visiting ABQ. We wanted to try everything so we split everything we wanted: Green Chile Cheesburger with onion rings, Chicken enchilada platter with blue corn tortilla, pork tamale with green Chile and sopas. It was a lot of food and we loved all of it. The service was great. The ambience was friendly and professional. Restaurant was clean. They do not sell mixed drinks, but they offer an agave wine margarita.

I had the green chili cheese omelet with chorizo and a mimosa. The food was good, I was hoping the green and red sauce would help to be spicy, but it wasn't really to my liking. I would come back to try out more of their entrees.

Great fajitas, enchiladas & sopapilla with honey! The green chili pepper soup was interesting but not the best dish we tried. There's a nice outdoor patio or plenty of indoor seating options.

I was quite impressed with this location, it was very cute inside and out. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day and they had a lovely outdoor patio section that was shaded. There were many options to choose from! I went with the Chile rellenos and thought it tasted very well! I was a little surprised to see if with cheddar cheese though. Overall it was not bad! Only knocking down 1 star because my MIL’s chicken tacos tasted like old/dry/unseasoned meat and the bill came out to roughly +$60 for 3 which I felt was a little expensive for what we got. Everything else was great! - special mention to the salsa and sopapillas which I loved.

I ate lunch at Monroe's a week ago and the experience was totally fantastic. First let me say that I arrived early (around 11:30am) on a Monday and I got the last table available, so if you go, be prepared to wait. I had the Carne Adovada entree and everything on my plate was delicious. The meat was so succulent and tender. I'm drooling right now just thinking about it. The service was as great as the food. My server was super friendly and my glass never sat empty. The servers do a great job of working as a team and it makes for a great experience. I can't wait to return and I highly recommend.

I'm not a local, but I do have over 50 years of experience eating solid food, so I do feel qualifed enough to write a review. This place was BUSY on a Sunday morning, so that was the first good sign. After a short wait I was seated at a table and started looking over the menu. It covered the range of what one would think a local joint would serve, with lots of focus on dishes made with those delicious regional Chile peppers. I went for the special of the day, which was Tamales and Eggs, and I strongly feel that I made the right decision. The tamales were plump with pork that was super tender and surrounded by soft masa. The eggs were cooked to order at over medium. The plate was rounded out with some skillet potatoes, my choice of Chile (I chose Christmas red+green) and a dollop of sour cream. As if that wasn't enough, it also came with a fresh made sopaipilla the size of a softball. Being so busy I didn't have "a waiter" but I was well taken care of by the village of servers constantly buzzing past my table. Bottom line - you can't go wrong eating here unless you just don't like good food.

Came in for lunch while visiting Albuquerque. Stopped in for a late lunch after walking around the plaza. So glad we stopped by, the food was phenomenal, service was quick and staff was friendly. Would definitely stop by again if ever back in Albuquerque. I enjoyed the chips and salsa, others thought it was a bit spicy. We had a variety of food, breakfast, kids menu, burrito and Frito pie, oh and don't forget the sopapillas!

We ate here on a road trip and it was absolutely delicious! A true Albuquerque original. I ordered a red and green tamale and a cup of posole, and my partner got a chicken and beef chile relleno. Those, plus the sopas and their salsa, were incredible. We will definitely visit again when we come back!

Three of my sisters, one brother-in-law, and I had lunch at Monroe's last week. I had a green chili cheese burger with sweet potato fries. It was fantastic ! The others were all happy with their meals. I remember that two of them had the meatloaf, and they said that it was wonderful. I can't remember what the other two had, but I remember that whatever it was, they liked it. I'd definitely go back.

Very impressed! I had the rolled tacos (I knew tham as flautas) and my BFF had a quesadilla. Tons of yummy veggies in his, and I really liked the guac I had for dipping. The salsa was a wee bit much for me, but I'm kind of a spice wuss. Would definitely come back. Waiter was really nice, too.

Over all very clean resturant food was good but they went over board with shredded cheese on my food. The bread with honey on top is yummy they said its desert but if wait bread cools down.

I love the food here. The waiter was friendly and refilled my coke without my having to ask. Their queso dip is wonderful!

The food here is always really good. It's kind of loud in the restaurant but pretty good service as well. The sopapillas are very very good. The salsa is a little watery but tastes good.

Yesterday was our first time trying out Manroe's. The service was great and the food was delicious! We ordered our food and got our food to the table within about 10 minutes. We ordered the chile relleno platter, super combination platter & chile cheese fries. Along with chips & salsa, sopapillas and honey. Loved it!! Will definitely be going again

Great food and service here! We walked over from the house we're staying at and found this delicious surprise so close. Three of us shared the green chile cheeseburger, chicken enchiladas with blue corn tortillas, and a pork tamale -- all very good! Recommend having a margarita here also, made with wine instead of tequila.

We were driving through Albuquerque and stopped here for lunch. The service was good but our server left half way through our meal and it was a little chaotic after that to get our check and boxes. I got the taco salad with chicken and it had little to no flavor and was very watery. I didn’t like that they made the guacamole spicy. The other people in my group liked their meals. They got the chicken fajitas and the super combination plate. We also got their sopaipillas and those were good.

Best Mexican food I've had in a long time! I got the chicken fajitas and it came out sizzling beautifully. An added bonus was the little sopapilla the dinner came with.

This was my first time at the newer Monroe's location and it was great! The new space is modern but still had a friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious as always. We had New Mexican, which was delicious but the burger and onion rings that went by looked great too. The kids love the chicken or steak fingers (just like I did 35 years ago when I started eating here) This new location added patio seating to Monroe's already attractive offerings. Looking forward to coming back!
