I've
been
traveling
the
American
Southwest
and
grabbing
budget
motel
rooms
when
friends
and
family
weren't
an
option.
Albuquerque
was
my
stop
after
leaving
Oklahoma
City
and
visiting
sites
in
Amarillo,
TX,
and
Santa
Rosa,
NM.
Arrived
at
the
motel
to
discover
I
was
to
be
charged
a
$5.85
COVID-19
"sanitizing
fee"
per
night.
First,
Agoda
indicated
the
charge
would
be
$4.50.
Second,
the
room
wasn't
sanitized.
I
pulled
back
the
bedspread
to
discover
several
large
cigarette
burns
in
the
blanket
AND
several
long
hairs
on
the
blanket.
Not
sure
what
they
meant
by
"sanitized".
A
sign
on
the
inside
of
the
room
door
indicated
the
inventory
of
items
in
the
room
(towels,
pillows,
hangers,
coffee
makers,
etc.)
and
that
if
anything
was
missing
after
checkout
that
I
would
be
charged
for
it.
Problem
was,
less
than
half
of
what
they
said
was
in
the
room
WAS
in
the
room.
(four
pillows
instead
of
eight,
no
coffee
maker,
etc.)
I
made
it
clear
upon
check-out
that
I
would
not
expect
to
see
any
charges
to
my
card
for
"missing
items".
The
room
was
musty,
and
the
door
lock
was
questionable.
Guests
above
me
made
noise
all
night.
Free
breakfast
in
the
morning
consisted
of
a
couple
of
slices
of
white
bread,
two
choices
of
cold
cereal,
some
coffee,
some
juice,
and
a
make
your
own
waffle
machine
(no
butter.)
As
budget
accomodations
go,
this
was
the
least
of
all
options.
