The charge nurse Q who was on duty needs a lesson in patient care. I had already had a visit with the Dr. on duty and I had requested a COVID test and he was more than happy to provide one no questions asked. But when the charge nurse came in I felt like I was on trial for caring about my health, she asked why do you want a COVID test we don’t have that many. I told her I wanted confirmation because I wasn’t sure how accurate the at home tests are. She made it seem like if she was paying for it out of her own pocket or an inconvenience to administer the test, and made me feel very uncomfortable. Learn some bedside manners Mrs. Q, or put yourself in your patients shoes. Rudest nurse I’ve ever come across at this ER

Great care at the end of the day…. But as many times as I have been seen here, the Nurses are the rudest people here. Doctors are great! But when talking to any of the nurses. They look at you like your dumb! They treat you like a kid. Make you question yourself for why your even being seen and whatnot. Definitely need to take a class and learn some social skills. Biggest downfall of the emergency room department. Besides Grumpy, judgmental, rude nurses. Everything else is A-1

Don't let the short wait times fool you into visiting this ER. It's empty for a reason. Avoid at all costs. The absolute rudest nursing staff who huddled together to snicker and laugh at a patient with (diagnosed) severe mental illness who was suffering a mental breakdown. They REFUSED to listen to us. They refused to listen to the medical history as we begged, pleaded, and warned them about the patient's past. They took this (per the notes on the medical records) as 'threats' though we were nothing but kind, considerate, respectful, and trying to communicate our concerns. The different teams of nurses kept trying to perform the same tests over and over and would ignore us telling them it had already been done (unless we showed them proof). The room was a mess with linens piled on the tables, stacks of half used tissues, empty trash all over the floor, under the bed, and under the lip of the cabinet. The radiology department seems to have some good bedside manner. As for a formal complaint, what good would that do when it's obvious from the other reviews that it does nothing. The walls are plastered with a conplaint number, but it does no good when they do nothing because of nurse and doctor shortages. We will never be returning to this ER, even if it were the last medical provider on the planet, and it meant life and death.

The radiology technician was very skilled and very kind, and she went above and beyond to try to get me in for another test that I needed. I couldn't get that scheduled, but that was not her fault. I took one star off because there was nobody at the front to direct me to the department and there was a bit of a wait. That said, I was a walk-in, and it was near the holiday. I felt that my care was very good, and I am relieved to finally know why my leg was hurting so much. Thank you Lovelace Westside!

The women at the front were the most disrespectful people I have ever encountered. The reason I brought my daughter in was because she was in excruciating pain. She asked my daughter to rate her pain on a scale of 1 to 10. My daughter replied with a 9. And let me remind you, my daughter is only 8 years old. At that moment, the woman behind the counter rudely remarked, "If it was a 9, you would be crying." I immediately responded to her, explaining that's why I brought my daughter in because she was indeed crying, tears streaming down her face. The lady then arrogantly replied, "I don't need earlier, I need now." I am truly baffled by how someone with such a sour attitude can work in healthcare. Perhaps she should consider taking a humility class and attending compassion courses.

I went to Lovelace a week after having difficulty putting any weight on my right ankle. They xrayed it and said that the ankle was sprained. To elevate, ice it and avoid walking. Five weeks later, it wasn’t any better. A different doctor saw me. He had zero empathy for my pain. I requested he order an MRI because I have sprained an ankle before and it should have healed. I asked for pain medication and was told to take Tylenol. Two weeks later the MRI, revealed that the ankle wasn’t sprained, wasn’t Achilles tendinitis; but was in fact fractured. By then I had been walking 8 weeks on a fractured ankle with no cast. Unfortunately, shortly after that I had chest pains and difficulty breathing. I still had the ankle issue. The nurses there that night were very quick to respond and kind in checking a possible cardiac situation. I saw the doctor that night, possibly three minutes. After blood work and tests were drawn, I was dismissed. I wasn’t given any possible explanation nor did the doctor see me again. Two days after that I had to go to my PCP because my lymph node was so swollen it looked like a growth. Had the doctor at Lovelace done a cursory check of my lymph glands, he would’ve felt it. I am certain the infection showed up on my blood work. In their favor, Lovelace seems to have a great nursing staff. Each time I was there, I was seen quickly. But to dismiss a patient in obvious pain, to miss diagnose a sprain (not once but twice) is hard to imagine. The doctor I saw on my first visit, at least seemed compassionate and empathetic; Even though she missed that it was fractured. The other two made me feel like a malingerer. I won’t return to Lovelace.

I don’t live in the area but had to go to the ER. I checked before going to ensure the hospital accepted my insurance and good news they did and it was in-network. So far so good… but the bad news is ER doctor at that hospital billed me separately for his services and he was out of network. My insurance paid the hospital in full and $200 for a 6 minute visit by the doc who charged me MORE than the hospital did. He wanted $1300 for seeing me for 6 minutes. My insurance paid reasonable and customary and now the ER doc has sent the remainder to collections. One star for this hospital for not having ER docs who accept the same insurance. I would have gone elsewhere if I had known. This is a legal nightmare now.

Came here based on referral from urgent care due to skin lesions that concerned the staff there. The doctor at urgent care said I most likely needed IV antibiotics, fluids, etc. I was seen here by Dr. Salas, who barely took the time to look at my wounds, DID NOT order any blood work or fluids, spoke AT me instead of with me, ordered antibiotics for barely a week. Which did help my symptoms, however, I was back in this ER in less than 2 weeks, again with urgent care referral, with the same symptoms, just less severe, and I was promptly seen, had blood work done, IV fluids and was prescribed antibiotics for 10 days. I’m already feeling better, I was not seen by Dr. Salas at the second visit thank goodness.

Lovelace Hospital asked me to review them. I died at Lovelace Hospital. My wife, who was with me much of the time, is completing the review. Wife: from the start, communication proved to be a problem. If I wasn't there when the doctor made the rounds, I was on my own to find someone to give me information. Folks at the nursing station said all the right words when I asked questions, but body language said, "Don't bother me. Can't you see I'm busy?" Three days into his stay, I heard from another family member that he had sepsis. Isn’t that something a staff person should have told me? Combine the sepsis with his DNR and the writing was on the wall. They moved him from the ICU to a regular room and did little to nothing that I could see to make his last few days of life as comfortable as possible. I was making arrangements for him to go home on hospice when he died. Why didn't Lovelace make hospice arrangements when they moved him out of ICU? It would have been the most compassionate thing to do. Oh, wait! Compassion is not something they do at Lovelace - at least in my experience. The icing on the cake was when I called the funeral home three days after he died to find out why I had not heard from them. Easy answer – he wasn’t there. The nurse and doctor at Lovelace had told me the hospital would call the funeral home. The funeral director verified that is the customary procedure. When I went to the hospital to find my husband's body, the Floor Supervisor told me they were waiting for me to call the funeral home. Three days they let his body sit in the hospital morgue without even a phone call to me to see what the delay was! Unforgivable!

first thing first i have to say the staff here is amazing !! i brought my dad here back in September 2021 for a severe foot infection. when we first got there he could barely walk six feet without getting completely exhausted. they got him in the ER room right away and by the end of the night he was able to walk from the room to the bathroom with ease and they diagnosed him with diabetes within a few hours. even with being understaffed and limited space due to covid, the staff did everything they could to treat my dad properly. by the next day he had his surgery for his amputation and ended up staying for about 2 weeks. during that time the staff were so kind and lovely people to be around and i always felt safe knowing my dad was in their care. he had to return about a month and a half later for a revision operation and stayed for about a week and they all remembered us and treated us so kindly. my dad has a fear of hospitals and doctors but staying here helped him overcome that. he’s almost at full recovery from the amputation and i am so happy that this is the hospital we chose to go to. i later came in myself for an allergic reaction and they treated me within an hour i was on my way home. the staff still remembered me even though it was been months and asked for updates about my dad. i recommend this hospital for everyone i know that lives in the area because you will always get excellent care !!

I have not always had the best experiences with the Lovelace system, however, a week and a half ago, they came to my aid and did an incredible job taking care of me. I came to the emergency room bleeding severely and they took such good care of me. All of the staff was kind and caring and throughout the 12 hours I was there I was nothing but well taken care of. I truly believe they saved my life. The doctor that was in attendance that day, went above and beyond to help get me the care I needed and I will be forever grateful. Thank you.

Had an echocardiogram there. Technically I assume it was done ok. The tech that did it was not very personable. He pushed so hard on the probe that it hurt the whole time. I didn't complain until the end. I know there was probably a reason for it, just wish he had explained when I complained, he didn't say a word when I did. In fact, he barely said two words the whole time. Maybe he was having a bad day? Stay home next time, please or just be nice.

I had ankle surgery at Lovelace Westside Hospital in Nov. 1. The staff was absolutely awesome! My surgery was delayed but I never felt neglected or pushed out of my scheduled time or any other negatives that can happen when surgeries get delayed. The pre-op nurse, Megan, kept me informed and comfortable with blankets and IV fluids, the anesthesia team with Lauren was very informative and gave me some laughs to lighten the delay, Michael the OR nurse checked on me regularly and gave me updates. The best was my surgeon, Dr Olivia Morris, who stopped by more than once to keep me updated and even brought my companion a bottled water! When does your surgeon bring your hospital guests water?? And my surgery went absolutely perfectly!

Dont ever come to this place especially if you need a procedure done for your child!!! From the start the old senior in the front was ridiculously rude to me and my child! And eveything from there went from bad to worse. Its horrendous how they handle their screw ups! I dont work there I shouldn’t have to do their jobs! I ended up leaving and not having my child go through them! If they dont know how to do their jobs they wont know how to properly care for my child 0 trust with the doctors and nurses. not to mention how rude and careless the nurses are they really need to work on themselves and their disgusting attitudes especially infront of children. Such an awful establishment with horrible staff, it really screams i hate my job here! How sad and disappointing!

My dad was admitted to the ICU with COVID this past August. The ICU might be small, but its staff was absolutely top-notch. Their therapists, nurses, and doctors were knowledgeable, kind, and understanding. Amber was the charge nurse while my dad was there, and she in particular was incredibly sensitive and gentle with my dad and each member of my family. My dad passed away after about 10 days in the ICU, but I will never forget how considerate and loving the entire staff was to us and how carefully they treated my dad. Thank you all!

i decided to give this ER another chance on 12/21/23. usually i don’t come here due to bad past experiences when my dad was passing away or when i was wrongly diagnosed & had a considerably rude nurse. today i had a very nice tech draw my blood, he was more gentle than the other people that work here. the nurses & doctors seemed annoyed by me crying (i cry and have panic attacks when i’m in medical settings) also i was admitted at 8:30 in the morning. they gave me IV meds & drew my blood around 9:45. i spent the next 3-4 hours waiting to do an ultrasound that was “wrongly ordered” & “never completely placed” by my ER doctor. after what felt like ever, i ended up just leaving since they said the OBGYN would have to come physically talk to my doctor for me to complete the ultrasound since the order did not go through TWICE. it was placed at 11:30 AM & i still did not get seen by the time it was 2 PM. i don’t recommend this place because the staff is grumpy & tired of their jobs. not to mention wait times are at least 6-9 hours even if you go early morning.

I went yesterday for severe pain from a spinal fracture. I explained my situation and that I’m talking Tramadol for chronic pain but it isn’t working. He prescribed hydrocodone but when I went to fill it the pharmacist called him and talked him into canceling the prescription. She doesn’t know the first thing about me or my medical conditions! I ought to sue for you allowing her to interfere with my treatment!!!

I went to ER for severe breathing issue. Doctor started medication that helped .... however the room I was in was HORRIBLE ... it was more like a storage room. After getting me stabilized I was left in a room with no information as to what was going on ... and the horrible florescent lighting was left on preventing me from relaxing as I tried to relax I was VERY happy to be transferred to Lovelace Women's Hosp

Nice staff! The nurses were so nice and they were calming me down because I was so nervous for my daughters first dental surgery. Big thank you as well to David Martinez for being there for my little one! The drive was worth it

This hospital is first class! The nurses, med tech, Dr's, Physical therapist, Opccupational therapist etc are so professional, knowledgeable, kind, and really take the time to listen. I live a good 30 minutes away with hospitals closer to me but this is the only one I'll go to when I'm in NEED. The nurturing relationship between patient/nurse, always feels homey. Thank you to all the staff at Lovelace Westside Sincerely,, Stephanie McDaniel

Although I did not have an overnight stay or long-term stay, I was impressed with all I came in contact with. Surgical team explained what was going to happen, and asked me appropriate questions when needed. I would go back if i were to ever need a long-term stay.

My step daughters boyfriend went to the ER two nights ago with severe back/abdominal pain. They discharged him basically saying he has sciatica. Fast forward to about 48 hours later he is now recovering from getting his appendix removed.

Used the ER twice for Grandson and we do not live in albq but they were quick and took care of his issues. Grandson also had surgery at this same hospital they took good care of him. The only issue I have is that no call to check up after surgery. But other than that they did a good job.

This, by far, was my best yet experience with Westside Loveless Hospital! I was entered to complete a 2nd Endoscopy as the 1st showed inflamation. My entry LPN Lavenia T was very caring, thorough, and made me feel so at ease! My Dr., Dr. Enyinna, was also caring and eased me through the procedure. She followed through with my recovery and explained the results, showed me the pictures, and actually removed a medication that I no longer needed!! My recovery nurse RN Kylie S. was beyond caring as she helped eased me back into consciousness and made sure I was good to go!! Thank you team

Apparently they make appointments without telling people then drop you when you don't make the appointment. I need a new doctor that truly cares about my health. Some but not all need to remember you work for us we and our insurance pay you. And stop treating people like you don't have time for them and stop treating people like we are bothering you when we call !! Biggest mistake they ever made was letting Tera Greckie go she was absolutely amazing really miss her very much she truly cared about people. And she has compassion SO the hunt for a great doctor begins. BECAUSE I sure don't have one now!!!!!

Everyone there was wonderful. They were all very friendly. I definitely have kudos for Lucas in recovery. He checked to see if I wanted somthing to drink, and got it for me. He also asked me a while later if I was hungry, and got me something to eat. When I started walking, and started to feel sick and thought I was going to pass out, got me a chair, and an alcohol swab to stop my nausea. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

Last week, I had gone in for my first colonoscopy. These people treated me first-class all the way. From the first moment when I checked in to the moment that I walked out, every single person treated me with kindness and respect. I felt well-cared for the entire way. Top to bottom, this was a top-notch facility, and each person did their job very well. They continued to check on me throughout, and were all courteous to a "T" !!

Was told to arrive 20 minutes early. Did so..waited for 20 minutes after my appointment time before being called back. No explanation other than the standard "short handed due to COVID" BS.The echo-cardiogram technician needs to either get a sense of humor, or at least learn to fake it when the patient cracks a joke.

West side Lovelace hospital employees and professionals are excellent people. However, patient releasing time wasn’t accurate which slightly disappointed my wife. The causes look like admitting many patients and running with everyone. I recommend you to have sufficient time for better services and for best results!

I arrived about 30 min early & filled out paperwork. Got in @ a timely manner. Receptionist was nice & professional as was the staff that performed my procedure. I have been here for a few other procedures & have always had a pleasant experience, the facility is in my town so it is very convenient.

The radiologist that did my daughter's CT was very negative. Once her heard my daughter was autistic he was not enthusiastic or willing to try and direct my daughter on what to do. He kept telling her she couldn't and I had to speak up to tell him he needed to be positive. He stepped away to do the CT giving me no direction on what to do or where to have her look. Definitely need to train your staff on working with people with special needs. If I didn't love our ENT through Lovelace and if we really didn't need it I would have left. On the plus side the hospital Is very clean.
