We've been coming to this location for the last 4 weeks since first getting to Albuquerque and have had nothing but a great experience until today. Ella was amazing and so nice. She helped us choose a pour over using the syphoning process and explained everything. Nathan on the other hand was extremely rude from the moment we walked in. We were trying to read the names of the coffee and he shooed us away. After Ella had already rang us up for our coffees using a gift card, Nathan shouted across the coffee shop saying that we had not paid and that he needed to ring us up. Thank goodness for Ella to explain to him that she had already taken care of it and then he proceeded to ask her HOW we paid. Really?! As a US ARMY COMBAT VETERAN I have never felt more disrespected. Seems like colored people are not accepted here. Never will be returning to Micheal Thomas!

Yup the coffee here is legit! I had a latte with no added cream, sugar and flavor. The creaminess of the coffee and smooth flavor was delicious. A good coffee in the morning is like the perfect pick me up and this was just that. I savored every last sip and will return when I am in town.

Fantastic spot for third wave coffee with a significant variety of single origin beans. I've tried both their macchiato and their V60 pour over, and both came out with great flavor.

Atmosphere was great. Lovely building with a good amount of seating. Drinks on the other hand were very bland. I had a lavender latte and beside the few drop of lavender buds floating on top I would not have know it was a lavender latte. My partner had a mocha latte and it was the same pale color as my lavender latte and tasted the same…like milk with the slightest faintest flavor of espresso.

Helpful and knowledgeable baristas! Their espresso beans used tasted more on the fruity/acidic side, and all latte sizes come with 2 shots of espresso. Really cute place, I’m happy to have stopped

My blackberry almond matcha was amazing, the bf wasn't too happy with his vanilla cappuccino. Place was very welcoming to say the least.

I only go here to get my coffee beans, though it's a really cute and homey location. If I lived in the neighborhood it would be a really nice place to hang for an hour or two. The selection of beans here is off the charts and everything always seems super fresh. Staff is friendly too, and always helpful. Highly recommend the beans here.

MT Coffee proudly wears the crown for hot chocolate available from 6-10am in the UNM area. Nestled in the corner of a residential block, baristas serve up an incredibly creamy milk-based hot chocolate with a unique tasting whipped cream. I could not tell whether they melted chocolate directly or used a syrup, but the creamy texture remained even after the whipped cream layers were finished for a substantial drink the whole way through. The environment is substantially more homelike compared to the more minimalist-urban cafés nearby. With sofas and social tables available, this is a good spot for group study and quiet conversation, although internet may be spotty.

Hands down the best place to get coffee in Albuquerque! Take a date here and be sure not to miss the back patio with ivy and fountains! I recommend the Honduras Black Honey microlot pour over for coffee drinkers and the Bhakti Chai for non coffee drinkers. They also have a wonderful selection of hot loose teas. Don’t forget to grab a slice of their artichoke quiche, it’s fabulous! It’s only a 5 minute trip on the ART bus from the university bookstore, I come here to study and read.

I love a simple cortado, never to go though. MTCR has a fabulous variety of coffees and teas. The place was busy yet relaxing and quiet enough to sit and talk and enjoy a good cup of joe!

This is the best coffee in ABQ, and the venue is unbeatable. There is a pet friendly patio in back and front with shade and nice seating in the lovely Nob Hill area. Inside there is a fireplace and the wall opens up on nice days. The baristas are so skilled they can do latte art even in oat milk and the espresso is amazingly smooth.

Excellent coffee. I ordered a single origin vanilla late, and a scone. One day was a lemon rosemary & the other was a mixed berry scone, both were delicious! They're open early which is nice, so I can get coffee before work. I will definitely be back anytime I'm in Albuquerque.

Thirty Two Dollars A Pound!!!!. $24 for 12 ounces of roasted beans!!! MF! $32/ a pound! You can only afford to buy one pound and have it bronzed, so you can look at it and remember what coffee used to taste like.

BEST COFFEE I'VE EVER HAD! I got a caramel latte, and it was perfect! Not bitter or too sweet! Customer service was amazing. They were so friendly. 10/10

First time at this location. Still the best latte or London fog in town hands down. The smell alone is worth the visit. The skill of the staff will bring you back again and again though. Parking is a bit like the lottery most days so plan in advance.

I've been going to Michael Thomas for a number of years. It has a nice vibe and the staff are friendly. I typically buy their whole bean coffee, which has been solid in the past. However, the bag of Burundi beans I got this past Saturday was bad. Really bad, actually - like worse than the $8 bags of generic stuff you'd find at the grocery store (and 3x the price). Their storage system is somewhat unique in that they don't prepackage their beans; they're all in clear plastic bins along the wall. I'd never thought much of it in the past, but that constant exposure to light and oxygen may be the reason that this batch was extremely oxidized and smelled very old (and the taste was no better). I reached out via their website but haven't received any response or explanation, so I don't know if they monitor the input they receive there. I hope that my experience was a fluke rather than the beginning of an unfortunate new trend. I'm not sure it's worth it to me to find out which of those it is, as there are plenty of other good roasters in town who have yet to let me down.

Lovely place to have coffee with the Missus on Michael Thomas Coffees patio. Wife expected a better selection of pastries but the coffee and cappuccino were good.

Nice atmosphere here. Stopped in here on my road trip both going and coming back. Staff were friendly and David made probably the best tasting cortado I’ve ever had, and easily the best latte art. Will stop by any time I’m in Albuquerque again

Absolutely love this coffee shop! It’s #1 in my opinion here in Albuquerque. I love the coffee, the nice and kind staff and the calm atmosphere. Thank you for all that you do ❤️

This is a great place to get coffee and get some work done. I am not normally a fan of dark roasts, but their slow drip cold brew made with a dark roast was pretty good.

I haven't tried any of their food, but had some oportunities to taste some of their coffee. I can't tell if this are specifically the coffees I have ordered, but my opinion is that in general their coffee is a little too bitter (I am used to unsweetened coffee). They have an amazing service and a delightful area where you can come to read, talk or work. As far as I remember, their space is not accessible for wheel chairs, but all of the shop is at the first floor.

The place is super cute and great for hanging out. The coffee was a let down. I ordered the Mexican Mocha and it tasted like warm milk, no coffee taste. 17.51$ For a brewed coffee, a mocha and a chocolate croissant…was ok but will most likely not go back.

I love Michael Thomas! My friend likes it too after bringing her here once. I love the cozy feel and the outdoor seating area in the back is beautiful, especially in the spring.

First off, the only reason it’s not 5 stars is the parking situation, which is not great. However, the coffee was very good, and they offer a variety of brew methods at the slow bar. Friendly staff and good coffee.

Phenomenal coffee with so many unique coffee options. I had an Ecuadorian pour over and it was phenomenal. I definitely have to come back to try the plethora of other coffees they offer. Great atmosphere and music taste too

The MTC on Silver used to be the best coffee shop in town. Now the beverages are inconsistent, the baristas have more attitude than training and it's just a waste of money and time. As much as i hate to say it, starbucks is the better option.

A fantastic little spot with great coffee, snacks, and ambience. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and good shops nearby to explore afterwards, too. Everyone who works there is friendly and great at their jobs! I would definitely recommend this place for both every-day coffee, and dates out. It's very reasonably priced and well worth the visit.

First time here, upon entering- the indoor space is clean, ample, and cozy- but not too cozy that you can’t get work done. It feels like an inviting space for conversations and work alike. Though I do not drink coffee, the London Fog I ordered with macadamia milk was probably the best Ive had in ABQ. There are plenty of non coffee options too which is nice. They also have vegetarian friendly food and the staff is beyond kind/relatable. Would recommend to anyone to come! And I will be back.

Lovely place to study and have some good coffee. The atmosphere is really nice, the inside sitting options have very nice lighting for reading and completing work. The coffee blends are exceptional; I'll often buy a bag for a friend or family member who is also a fan of Michael Thomas Coffee.

This is a place you cannot compare to anything. It's in a house right in nob hill and it fells cozy. There are many places to sit. But it's in such a great part of town that you can grab your drink and walk around. The coffee is amazing. They know what they are doing with different roasting techniques that I've never tried before. Parking can be tricky but it's worth it.
