We absolutely loved this place. We had the fish and chips, and the chicken tenders. Both were really well made and not too heavy. The apple pie crust was super flaky and flavorful. Overall, very impressed with the food quality. The service was also great and there’s a good vibe of sitting and chatting. The menu is diverse enough that this place is great for groups. You also pay ahead, making the check process super easy. The patio is perfect for mild desert nights. Would definitely recommend for an after-event hang or any sort of get-together.

I've been away from Albuquerque for a while and it's been some time since I've eaten here. I was excited to visit town and immediately out the flying star on my placed to visit. I had the red stuff drink, which is a cool refreshing drink with a punch, soda, hibiscus flavor to it. For my entree I had the Southwest Benny which has eggs over easy, hollandaise sauce, cheddar, and green chili turkey sausage. It was absolutely as I remember delicious. For dessert I had the pineapple upside down cake. It was absolutely a treat. The price was a bit expensive for my dinner, drink and dessert. It came out to 30 dollars which included a tip. The staff was friendly and hospitable. The restaurant was quite nice inside with a clean and modern design. The outdoor patio area was quite nice as well.

Tiny pumpkin pie slice for $6.50. Sure this place has always been expensive but now, with shrink-flation, the Bernsteins have figured out how to recover from bankruptcy even quicker. And it doesn't just apply to pumpkin pie. If you think flying star is a good value anymore, you have a poor sense of money's worth. I've seen the trend over the past 10 years, and I won't be giving them any more business.

The people that work there were really nice and they didn't have much vegan stuff but they did have the vegan street tacos. I had it with corn tortillas but the corn tortillas should have been like heated in a little bit of oil or something they were cold and didn't seem like they had been really cooked so that would have made the dish a whole bunch better. The actual rest of it was kind of a mixture of sweet and spicy and that was pretty cool. The location was really good and there's great views of the mountains. They also have a ton of desserts. They have a nice place for you to go refill your water.

Have not been to this location in a couple of years. The food (especially the fish and chips) used to be very good. Ordered it today and it came out extremely greasy. The flesh on the fish was grey, not white, and rubbery. Not sure if this is the new standard here. It will definitely be my last order of this dish here. No one even walks around to check to see if the food is ok. Could not find a manager.

This was the cutest quaintest cafe ever. I got the watermelon cider and the chicken cous cous risotto. It was the perfect size for dinner and super flavorful. Everyone was so nice and helpful and the atmosphere was full of people eating, working, socializing and even studying. Great for a quick bite. I wish I could’ve tried more food.

This has been one of our favorites since we lived here years ago. The service is always immaculate. The food is always out of this world thus the words Flying Star. From the bakery treats being made with butter to the free range eggs and the fresh fruits and super delicious coffee this place is your number one choice for breakfast, as well as lunch and a nice early dinner. Don't miss out on eating it the best place in all of Albuquerque! And if you're going to have a birthday or any type of Celebration where you need a cake, look no further this place knows how to make cake without all that toxic hydrogenated oil that everybody else is so reliant on using. Go with the best go with Flying Star!

Such a quaint little Cafe! We chose this place because we were out with our 3 puppies, and the outdoor area was so nicely kept. A little on the pricey side, but the food is soooo worth it! The staff saw our pups and even ce put with some treats when they brought our food out! One of the best huevos rancheros and salad I've ever had!

Came in for late dinner and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. At first glance the prices seemed a little high.....but that thought quickly vanishes when you receive your food. All the dishes were fantastic and the portions were on point. The presentation and savoryness was spectacular!!! Love this place and will definitely be back....especially for those cauliflower wings...OMG!!!!

Flying Star is always a great place with a variety of options. The vibes are immaculate and a perfect meeting spot for a group. The food is a little hit or miss. The California Melt I had was ok but had nothing special to it.

Ridiculous price increase. $12 for 2 slices of plain French toast! I can understand prices going up for quality food but seriously 2 slices of bread dipped in milk and eggs is illogical. Increase prices for more elaborate items! You're discouraging your regulars who keep you going- not wise!

I've been coming to Flying Star Cafe since moving to Albuquerque. It's the best cafe around here with a delicious breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal or just a place to hang out.

Flying Star is always a new place to stop in when in albuquerque. They always have the best display case for desserts and pastries. It's a nice spot for the family as they typically have something for everyone's tastes. If you have folks with gluten or dairy intolerance it's also a nice place for group dining.

I love this flying star location. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor (shaded) seating. The restaurant is always very clean and the staff are amazing. The parking lot is large with plenty of spaces. The food is excellent! They also have live music on the patio in the warmer months. Will definitely visit again.

Flying Star is one of Albuquerque’s best! They have a fantastic breakfast, delicious cakes, and dinner is tough to beat. On top of that they allow pets and have a garden like patio. Everything on the breakfast is great. You must have the Mexican Late. I’ve had the Hidden Treasure for Dinner and it was great too.

Seriously Flying Star Cafe?! What the heck are these?! These are your 15 dollar hand breaded chicken tenders that I'm trying to reheat after I got home. I've had bigger shrimp than what you call chicken strips. Flying star used to be an all-time favorite here in Albuquerque, but since the pandemic, they've hiked the prices and the quality of food has gone dramatically downhill. I will no longer be recommending this place to anyone, I'm sorry.

The pastries were old dry tasteless. I. Order a cappuccino and was giving a 1/4 of a cup just to see if I had order and expresso. When I ask I was told this is the way we do them here. I used to love this place. They were perfect. Everything was great but I guess everyone is affected since COVID-19. Nobody wants to work anymore

We ate take-out and I didn't drive down to pick it up so I can't comment about the Service or Atmosphere. I had a to go order of 3 Grilled Fish Tacos. Expected them to be good, but they were GREAT! Some of the VERY BEST I have ever had, including many on the beach in Mexico! I will admit to enhancing them by adding the juice of one fresh lime and some Tabasco Extra Hot Scorpion Pepper Sauce. Also washed them down with an ICE COLD Modelo Chelada Especial. While I did expect the tacos to be good, they were unexpectedly EXCELLENT! Highly Recommended! Don't change anything about them!

Best Flying Star I’ve been to. Overall, I have found other locations to have sub-par service and poor quality food, and portions for the price. This location I tried their Mac with crispy chicken and broccoli — a Flying Star classic. Noodles were cooked well, the sauce was so-so in terms of flavor and amount, and the portion was hefty. Some improvements could have been cutting up the Parmesan or whatever hard cheese that topped the Mac bowl a little finer, or even grate it. They used to also add more pepper and parsley in the sauce, or on top. Lastly, more cheese sauce was needed. It seemed like it was mainly in the middle which was hard to mix in with broccoli and chicken on top. The chicken was really delicious, flavorful, and crispy. Employees here were consistently attentive and kind throughout. I saw them wish customers a goodnight on their way out. The bussers were cleaning promptly but not on top of people eating. The counter service folks were bright, attentive to my drink requests, etc. Will be coming to this location more in comparison to others. One employee made me a delicious dry cappuccino. Wish other locations met this level of service and food quality.

This is my favorite breakfast/ anytime hang out spot. The food almost always hits and is consistently great. This is an awesome spot to vibe solo or with loved ones. Haters will say it’s overpriced and meh. I grew up on this food and will always enjoy a flying star meal or snack.

Addendum 10/25: It appears management only wants to give the impression customer service is important to them by implying "someone will reach out directly".  I provided my contact info as requested on 10/17 and to date, no one has reached out! Orig. Review: I have been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile when traveling to Albuquerque, so yesterday we decided to give it a try.  I could not have been more disappointed.  We expected the wait in line with tourist packing the town for Balloon Fiesta & the solar eclipse. Didn't expected the $54 (before tip) lunch for 2, but swallowed it.  Then 30 mins later my husband's Chicken Pot Pie Stew was served and our waitress said my California Chicken Sandwich was somehow missing!  She said the cook said it was done, but she thought they just missed cooking it.  She assured me it was being prepared.  It took another 30 minutes for a young busboy to deliver my food. We had already been there for 1 1/2 hrs and my husband had finished his meal, so I asked the young man to box up my food to take it home.  He said he was sorry and returned my food bagged up.  NOW, here is the kicker... after returning home that evening I was starving, so decided to finally eat the sandwich.  I took one bite and said... "Where's the chicken?!?  I was dumbfounded after opening both sides of the sandwich to find there was NO chicken in the sandwich whatsoever!  I regret not even looking at the food before asking it to be boxed up, because I would have asked for a manager and requested the money back for my sandwich!  With service like this, I don't know how they stay in business!!  It was a first and last for us...

Food was delicious and fresh. A small delay, is natural to expect with such high quality food. The service was kind, and attentive. Tho, you will not be able to "holler" for a waiter. (Too many other folks talking, makes it simply too loud in the first place) Your gonna have to get up, and get what you need. Which in my book, is a pretty good thing. ❤️ All in all. A most satisfying way to celebrate returning to my birth city. =^w^= Praise to our Lord Jesus Christ~

I have been going to this location since I moved into the area and have nothing bad to say about it. Sometimes the lines can be a bit long and it's not my "go to" place for a quick snack and cup of coffee anymore (because of the lines), but overall - Flying Star Cafe is a fantastic place for a bite to eat and cuppa joe. If you haven't made time to try the deserts, do so. Please note: My reviews get updated based on experience 🙂
