I came here after glowing recommendations from family. I don't see what they see in Ed's shop. I purchased a white gold chain a year ago after the original chain broke (10 years of near continuous wear). The new chain lasted less than a year before breaking. I took it back in August for repair and paid for the repair. Less than one hour after receipt of the repaired chain it broke 1/2 inch from the repaired spot. Today, 9/22, came in to discuss and was told the chain is not defective, the repair has nothing to do with the new break, and there's nothing they can or will do. Lousy customer service and a combative attitude. I'll happily take my business elsewhere. *edit after owner response*: a break less than half an inch from the repair, less than an hour after putting the chain on, is not wear and tear. That's caused by shoddy workmanship from the jeweler who repaired the chain. Also, if you're not in the Ed Club, you can expect this level of service. It's mind blowing how the attidue of staff changes after name dropping.

I had a custom piece done with the help of Teresa Romero and could not be happier with the experience. She was so patient with the million questions I asked and took a ton of time helping me come up with exactly what I wanted. When it wasn’t exactly how I imagined it, they took it back and made it better than I ever thought it could be. Everyone in here is amazing and beyond helpful. No matter how much or little the piece costs, they treat you with the same respect and compassion. I will not go anywhere else for my jewelry needs. Can not recommend this place enough.

Wow! What a pleasant experience I had at ABQ Gold & Silver. I went in to sell some family jewelry and flatware that I never used. This place is a class act – new, safe, and clean. The owner, Ed, is kind and very knowledgeable. He will give you the best possible price, including increasing the buying price on unique items – he knows what he is looking at. Teresa was also amazing and helped me from start to finish. They both made what could have been an overwhelming experience seem like a breeze. They also sized a ring of mine and it looks great!

I cannot recommend going here enough. I needed to find the right diamond for the perfect engagement ring, and Jackie went above and beyond to find a stone more beautiful than I could have imagined. She initially showed me something in the style that I wanted, and I loved it. Making sure I saw a few different options though, she ordered a different diamond to the store, in the same style. The ordered diamond was amazing and - spoiler alert - became the talk of my surprise engagement party! Jackie having the knowledge of not only what's available in the store, but also what's available in the marketplace, made my fiancé's dreams come true. Jamie, Ed, Emily and Jackie are wonderful. I have known them all for many years, and Jamie (an expert and certified gemologist) just helped my fiance, Jennifer, and I pick out a beautiful engagement ring. I get all of my jewelry here. You can exchange jewelry but you can also work with their amazing staff to customize pieces. My fiance and I worked with their team of expert gemologists to create my engagement ring and wedding band and I couldn't be happier! I will never go anywhere else for fine jewelry.

Omg! I just picked up the most beautiful ring that I've ever seen! It was a process of selecting the stone and the setting. I previewed a CAD drawing to approve. I worked with Theresa who was wonderful! Jamie and Jackie were in on my journey as well. The stone was sent to LA to be set in a hidden halo setting. 😇 It took a few weeks but, was worth the wait! I had a transaction I needed to sell some gold. Jamie was incredibly polite and very attentive, when she brought Ed to the front to complete the transaction it was like family. I have been searching for the perfect bands to go with my old wedding set. I had ideas in my mind and knew I wanted rose gold. I had been searching for about 5 years. When I was on a trip in Alaska recently i found a ring that was okay and “kind of” what I was looking for. But it was in white gold it was a high pressure jewelry store and we ended up buying it because they said they could dip the ring in rose gold and it would last 15 years. Well, it wore off after only 1 month. I tried to reach the store and they would not respond. So, i came to Albuquerque Gold and Silver and spoke with Teresa. She listened to what I had in my mind and looked at tons of photos I had saved in my phone of what I was looking for. I left all my rings with her and she took all the diamonds from those rings and designed exactly what I wanted. She drew a rendering of what she had in mind and it was as if she penetrated my brain and pulled out what I was looking for. They sent me a computer design and I signed off on the design. It is the most gorgeous thing I own and I will forever come here when I want or need more jewelry because it is absolutely perfect. I almost can’t believe how perfect it is. Do not hesitate to have Teresa help design your next piece of custom jewelry. You will not be disappointed! We are from NM, but no longer live there. We flew in specifically to work with this jeweler and I am so happy we did. The final product is worth every flight, phone call and consultation.

This is my go to place for gifts for my wife and mother. Everything that I have purchased from ABQ Gold and Silver exchange has been excellent quality and VERY fairly priced. Their selection is incredible and I have always enjoyed dealing with the staff. They remember the pieces that I have bought in the past and always try to suggest things that go together and accentuate the prior purchases. I highly recommend at least going in and having a look, but I should warn you that every time I do that, my wife gets a new necklace, bracelet, or pair of earrings.
