Hi I would not ever recommend this Facility to no one my mother was send there due to a hip fracture for two weeks the food was terrible the PT OT were wonderful as far as the nursing dept is the worst, they do not now what they are doing one night I had to get involve due to my mom was experience withdrawal from one of her medication that was order but would not give it to her and an other time they we’re trying to drop her oxygen from 4L to 2L or less and she is end stage COPD at 4L of oxygen around the clock at home for over a year they do not follow orders at all from the hospital that transferred her. The supervisor Mike wanted to send my mother to the ER two days before her discharge when I confronted him about the oxygen I asked him if he was kicking her out of the facility and he stated that it’s was a solution, I asked if he saw the orders from the hospital he stated no they only go by orders from doctors from this facility only. The Nurses and even the supervisor are terrible and are not aware of what they are doing. Please think twice before placing your Love one there Don’t do them a disservice.

My dad's only been here for a couple days but it's been a great experience so far. The staff is insanely kind. The kitchen staff remembers his name, remembers details about him. The nurses are so kind and cheerful. The Dr is knowledgeable and felt like we weren't bothering him with questions. Thank you so much, it is so relieving to know if I'm not here that he's still being taken care of.

On behalf of my entire family, I would like to express our gratitude to everyone at Encompass for the outstanding care given to my brother during his two-week stay. This is a well- managed facility that is very clean and comfortable. This is an exceptional place because of the people that work there! Thank you to the two kind women at the front desk who were very helpful. Thank you to the security personnel who provided a sense of safety. Thank you to the transport person who safely took my brother to a doctor’s appointment. Thank you to the custodial staff who kept the patient rooms and hallways very clean. Thank you to the food staff who worked so hard in serving good food and interacting positively with the patients. Thank you to the exceptional nursing staff who were competent, responsive and caring day and night. Thank you to the very skilled PT/OT therapists who, with their daily three scheduled sessions, helped my brother progress each day. Thank you to the doctors who came by frequently. Thank you to the case managers who kept the family informed about next steps. Thank you to the head of nursing who took the time to listen and welcomed me the very first day I entered the facility. We are so grateful for your coordinated care and communication. Thank you!

I chose this rehab facility for my father after his stroke. They were very nice to me during the tour, promising this and that. The minute he was picked from from UNMH to be transported to this facility, no one ever returned my call or texts. I would visit my father daily for the 11 days he was staying here. One day, I called his cell phone to check on him and he said he had pushed the call button for the nurse to go back into the room to help him as they put poly dent on his tooth brush instead of toothpaste! He could not get out of bed without help. I had to hang up with him and call the front desk to tell them to send someone to his room asap!! I went on a daily visit and no one cleaned out his bedpan I’m which he said he used in the am. The techs were “passing the buck” blaming one another for not cleaning it. Another tech said 2 days into his stay, “he’s too heavy, I can’t do this alone so he’s just going to wear a diaper!” Again, it was impossible to get anyone into the room when pushing the call button. My father wanted to leave early as his sister passed away. his caseworker became very sour after that and didn’t even tell him goodbye when walking past him in the hallway!! There was no discharge instructions for medications and catheter nor did they send me home with enough medication for the weekend. I believe it was a unsafe discharge! We did like all of his therapists! They worked hard and actually showed care and compassion unlike other staff members. I would not recommend sending any loved one to this facility with the problems and lack of care my father received on his short stay!

I was not a patient at Encompass Health, but my Dad was just discharged today. I saw him enter with pneumonia and exit stronger and so much healthier than when he got there. I know that’s the purpose of a rehabilitation facility, but I was so impressed with the physical therapy sessions, occupational therapy sessions, attentive and caring nurses and nurse techs. We were well informed by his case manager. We were greeted friendly by all who worked the front desk. It was immaculately clean. The food was delicious and always hot. Every day I came to visit him, he had great things to say. Thank you for taking great care of my Dad. I will forever be grateful.

My husband was at your facility from 4/12/22 to 4/23/22 after being in the hospital from 4/3/22 to 4/12/22. He had severe pneumonia and elevated heart rate. He seemed to be doing okay but had to be transported back to the hospital on 4/22/22 because of his heart rate again. He returns to you the same day, you discharge him to go home on 4/23/22 and he dies at home on 4/28/22. Death certificate states “sepsis bacteria due to pneumonia. In my eyes you killed my husband. He was not well enough to be discharged, and now I get a bill. WOW. Don’t send your families here.

I'm currently at UNM Hospital just coming out of an unresponsive state because Encompass didn't believe UNM Hospital's diagnosis that I have severe Adrenal Insufficiany and had a severe Adrenal Crisis and my body shuts down when steriods are tapered too fast or I'm subjected to physical or emotional stressors and not updosing steriods. Encompass physicians, Jessica, and physical therapist Kristen think they know more than Endocrinologist and they refused to adhere to UNM's dosing orders and lowered my prednisone from 35 mg to 32 mg, cut me cold turkey from other meds, and pushed & forced me to push beyond what my body was capable of while the steriods to sustain my life were drastically dropped without me knowing it. I went unconscious twice while Kristen was forcing me to wheelchair myself while my bp was 80/30, I was so weak I couldn't even open my eyes, and having all the symptoms of an Adrenal Crisis. Even after that, she forced me to ambulate in spite of my extreme weakness, vertigo, dizziness, lightheadedness, my eyes closed, and my body shutting down. My body did give out and shut down while she was still forcing me to do what i told her I couldn't and needed help with. I ended up having seizures and going unresponsive. Instead of getting me help, these 3 people were saying that I'm a pyc patient and faking. That the only place I need to go is a pyc facility. I don't know who called the Paramedics but who ever did saved this place from a wrongful death lawsuit as these people told the Paramedics the same lie that I'm a phyc patient who threw her body back to fake ill because I got angry that I was supposedly told that I was getting discharged, not being sent to the hospital, because I have no impairments, and I said I was going to kill myself if they didnt send me to the ER. None, which is true, but I would dead right now, had the hospital believed Jessica and not actual facts & labs and had me committed to phyc. I'm glad what Jessica said was put on record, and there are witnesses to collaborate. The paramedics relayed it to the hospital doctors, and it was relayed to me, which initially impared my care & treatment. I was admitted and getting treatment from Adrenal and renal failure due to this Encompass physicians', office staff, and some pharmacy staff. Eric-pt, Suzzette, Joy, Ashley, Victor were amazing employees, Respitory, and some other staff members were wonderful.

I had the privilege of witnessing the outstanding care provided by Encompass Health during my father's two-week stay at their rehab facility. Dr. David Turk, our dedicated physician, showed exceptional expertise and compassion, ensuring my father's well-being every step of the way. The therapists at Encompass Health, including Colleen, the occupational therapist, Collette, the speech therapist, and Abby, the physical therapist, were instrumental in my father's remarkable progress. Colleen's patient and innovative approach helped him regain independence, while Collette's expertise in speech therapy greatly improved his communication abilities. Abby's motivating attitude and tailored physical therapy sessions facilitated his physical recovery. Encompass Health's comprehensive care, coupled with Dr. Turk and the exceptional therapists, created a nurturing environment that greatly impacted my father's rehabilitation journey. I wholeheartedly recommend Encompass Health to anyone seeking exceptional rehab services.

When it comes to care, I have never experienced this kind of VIP treatment. Encompass Health announces your visit on the speaker, welcoming you. Their nurses are so kind. Their staff is the best! They are bar-none one of the best hospital facilities... they beat the hell out of Lovelace and evil Presbyterian... Also, their food is pretty good I will never recommend anyone to PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL... mellow out!

When I was told I would be doing in patient therapy prior to my surgery I was very skeptical. I asked what could I do at therapy prior to surgery to help me. Only surgery would fix the issue right? Then I would do therapy to recovery from surgery… When I was asked what my goals were when I arrive I couldn’t think of any. All I had was, “I want to get back to my family.” When I arrived, I couldn't walk more than 10 feet with a walker and I would be in so much pain I would need to stop and sit. After just two days here encompass I knew things were going to be good. Each therapist I worked with sat down with me and discussed what my goals were before we would start. Though I am sure this is part of their job, I felt like they were asking because they truly wanted to know what my goals were. I could almost see them in their minds developing plans on how they were going to help me get to those goals as well when we were talking. For the most part I was able to work with the same occupational and physical therapist the entire time. But, when I would work with someone else or just another person from my team they knew what I had done since the last time we met and knew what progress or setback had occurred. The therapist here work together like a well oil machine. They have the best interest of each patient in mind. They push you as hard as you want to go. They will even push you to your bodies limit, which is beyond your own mental block. I love this as this is how you make progress. After just a week of being here this fantastic team pushed me to be able to walk 1,000 feet with a walker. Each day I could see the progress, each day I could physically see the progress myself. The progress no matter how small would drive me. Each therapist shared in my excitement of progress, again not because it's a part of the job but because they genuinely cared about my progress. I could not have asked for a better place to come and a better team of people to help me. I am very excited to return here after my surgery to make a full recovery with the help of this amazing team!

I was admitted to Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital in October 2021 after major back surgery. The whole staff was very friendly and very understanding about the pain and care that I needed. Doctors, nurses, nurse technicians, therapists, and hospital staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. If I were to ever need a Rehabilitation Hospital again I would most definitely go back. Thank you all for getting me through a very tough time in my life!!

My name is Harrison. My time at Encompass was fantastic. I suffered a stroke, and Encompass therapy staff and their gym are awesome. The CNA's make you feel comfortable and are very helpful. Dr Turk was an awesome doctor who would always see me every day minus his days off. The time I was there, I learned a lot. Thank you so much, Speech Therapist Elisa. I definitely recommend Encompass.

I initially was a patient late June of 23’ and again August of 23’. The amount of care and time spent teaching me the tools to learn to walk again are immeasurable. Kevin Smith was my physical therapist both times I was a patient. My left leg is an above knee amputation and he taught me how to walk with my prosthetic leg.He gave me information so I could choose a prosthetics company to help me along my journey. The prosthetics company were there to meet me the next day. I wouldn’t have had any idea where to go past physical therapy. My occupational therapist Sandi and Louie were both amazing. Lots of hard work but I feel I’ve made life long friends. I would highly recommend Encompass Health Rehabilitation to anyone.

On May 29 I fell and broke both of my ankles. I spent 18 days in Encompass after being transferred from Presbyterian Hospital where I had surgery on my right ankle 3 days before. I had a cast on that leg and a boot on my broken left ankle. I was pretty helpless. When I arrived I couldn’t even get from the wheelchair I was transported in to the hospital bed. On the very next day I was helped by an Occupational Therapist (OT) to get a shower. I had 1 OT session and 2 Physical Therapy (PT) sessions most days during my stay. I was exhausted during my sessions but thanks to the professionalism and encouragement of those PTs and OTs I am free of braces and walking today. I am still doing outpatient therapy but the strong base I was given at Encompass has made a tremendous difference in my recovery. I cannot say enough about the competence and professionalism of the therapists and aides at this facility.

I advocated hard for my Aunt to come to this facility. After spending nearly a month with her in the hospital she needed rehabilitation. She wasn’t thriving once she left the hospital to go home.Once I got the okay to admit her to Encompass, I felt very comfortable with the care. The physical therapist and occupational therapist were awesome. The traveling nurses, they were the problems. But after a week things got weird. I had calls from my aunt in the middle of the night in pain. I had no one to call nor could I go to the hospital to see what was going on. When I asked questions from her case manager I didn’t get answers. My aunt has memory issues and was talked into procedures that were not necessary. Within two weeks I started to get threatened from staff. They would follow me. I was not allowed to see my aunt again. And that the hospital was getting a restraining order against me. There were a number of times I was blocked from seeing my aunt for no reason. I received strange calls saying they are from Encompass and said that I was abusing my aunt. This was all so crazy to me. Edit- I haven’t heard from Encompass.

My wife is in this facility now. After a major trauma event she had a 2 plus week stay in the UNM hospital including the ICU and received stellar care. This place has been one fiasco after another. Doctors and nursing staff. They get to hide behind the covid restrictions and keep family out for 12 hours a day then neglect the patients and provide substandard care while no one is there to see what's happening.

I was very impressed with the treatment my family member received during their stay at Encompass. The nursing staff and CNA’s were caring and helpful. I found it to be a clean and organized facility and would definitely recommend it. I would also like to thank nurse Fatima who was particularly wonderful!

One year ago, my brother was a patient at this hospital. Due to their neglect, he acquired a bed sore on his heel (the staff never rotated him or switched his boots to prevent sores). Today my brother is losing that foot because that sore never healed properly. This is a direct result of the poor care provided by this facility.
