😠 The staff was great, everyone is friendly but the business model is horrible. We use to come here to be checked out by a physician in person for a $50 co pay vs doing a virtual visit which is a $10 co pay for us. The most recent visit, we went in and were seen virtually by a physician. Sat in front... People often mention care, medical, time, staff, urgent, daughter, told, nice, provider, front,

The staff was great, everyone is friendly but the business model is horrible. We use to come here to be checked out by a physician in person for a $50 co pay vs doing a virtual visit which is a $10 co pay for us. The most recent visit, we went in and were seen virtually by a physician. Sat in front of a laptop, seriously. Other then being looked over by an EMT the experience and thoroughness was the same as doing a virtual visit at home. The whole reason we went in was to be physically examined by a physician/PA, concerns around breathing. The website, the front desk, signage say nothing about being seen virtually. There is a mention of upgrading their telehealth platform on the website but one could safely assume that telehealth applies to non in person visits. I feel completely scammed. This can’t be ok.

Oh my goodness seeing this tree made my heart happy! It also made my heart happy that have digital registration instead of having paper waste over time. Our trees are important & our environment. Had such a happy experience here getting care for health too.

This used to be my go to place. I won't step foot in this "urgent" care again. I was here a couple months ago, no tests were performed yet received a diagnosis and antibiotics. The registration system does NOT work ever. They get snotty at the front when you ask for paper since it clearly doesn't work on my phone, never has. Clients who arrived after me are being seen and it isn't because of their triage system, I used to work in an ER. Last time I waited 6 hours to be seen, this time I'm going on 2 hours. If you want to wait half a day and get mediocre care come here! If you want a confusing registration process with no clear system come here!! There is nothing urgent about this place and the staff is burnt out.

From the check-in to the appointment, ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE!!! I checked in online first, when i arrived the lady at front desk repeated EVERYTHING I DID...then a lady that walked in after me and had not checked in online was SEEN BEFORE ME...during triage, the blood pressure cuff squeezed my arm so tight that my hand literally TURNED BLUE, and no mention of what the reading was...also during triage the lady ASKED ME IF I WAS REGULARLY USING MY PRESCRIBED EPI-PENS?!? I would hope ANY MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL WOULD UNDERSTAND THIS WOULD BE USED ONLY IN EMERGENCY!!!!! Part of my symptoms required me to give urine sample, and I HAD TO ASK FOR MY OWN CUP!?!? When I used the restroom THERE WAS NO SOAP TO WASH MY HANDS...are you kidding me, THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A MEDICAL OFFICE...do we need to teach these people the importance of washing their hands????? I am actually a veterinary medical professional, AND THE ANIMALS WE CARE FOR ARE TREATED SO MUCH BETTER THAN I WAS TREATED TODAY!!!

While the staff was nice, they misdiagnosed my child. They said it was likely a "viral rash" and would check to see if it was anything more serious but to just wait it out. The lab work took 7 days to get back - not the 3-4 they said - and they had only checked for herpes (which I knew it wasn't and the results were negative). We ended up at the ER and were able to get antibiotics prescribed since Duke City missed the impetigo/staph infection the child had. This could have been far more serious if I had trusted what they said instead of following my instincts to get my child to real medical care. I won't be going back to here and will stick with other urgent cares. Edit: And, after reading other reviews, this isn't the first time they've not prescribed antibiotics and missed diagnoses. Absolutely do not trust them for anything medical.

We scheduled an appointment at 11am, the check in went smooth, but they didn't have a provider to see us for over an hour. "Why have the ability to schedule at 11am and then see us at 1215pm". Spent literally 4minutes with us. The provider could not even apologize for the long wait. Customer service is very poor and was a waste of time. She made recommendations to my underage child and I had to ask for those recommendations which she provided on a sticky note. Unprofessional!

Save your time and go somewhere else!! My 15 year old daughter had an appointment at 3pm today but was not seen until almost 4:30pm. When she was finally seen for her ganglion cyst, the provider (a physicians assistant) wanted to send her home with an ace bandage and advised to take ibuprofen. After informing the provider that we’d previously seen her pediatrician and are now seeking to drain the cyst because her wrist is in pain for the past two months she agreed to attempt to drain the cyst. When my daughter stated she didn’t want to have it drained, the provider falsely informed me that NM allows 15 year olds to consent to medical treatment and if my daughter didn’t consent the provider would not complete treatment. After researching NM law, only minors living apart from their parents can consent to treatment in this type of situation which was clearly not the case. My daughter agreed to completing the procedure and the provider attempted to drain the cyst without success. We left with a referral to an orthopedic surgeon and an ace bandage. When we arrived, there almost no cars in the parking lot, there were no patients ahead of us and there were about 4-5 nurses or medical assistants standing around gossiping so I do not know why it took almost 1 1/2 hours to be seen. We could hear the medical staff gossiping about concerts, drinking and how glad they were that it was almost 5pm so they could leave. When we left the room we were in, the medical staff all glared towards me most likely because they heard how unsatisfied I was with the service we received. This place is extremely unprofessional, their medical staff should be more aware of their conversations and providers should not state NM law if they are not well versed in it. Their timeliness and service needs to improve. Unfortunately they are one of the only urgent cares that is able to complete extensive procedures beyond the regular medical scope. I tried another urgent care before I had to settle for Duke City Urgent Care on Irving and Eagle Ranch. Maybe their other locations are better.

It seems they are not serious about giving medical service. Mediocre. Why are they even there if they can't help you. My daughter had to be in a wheelchair and yes I had to be the one to help her and came time to to get her to take her to xray she had to push herself. She was in so much pain. I had to tell the nurse aren't you going to help her ???!! It's not cool I remember a time when a hospital was a hospital and urgent care was serious. And the staff were just seating around talking. 🙄 Hopefully it gets better. Be there for your patients and they would be happy and thankful you actually cared.

I really like the other duke city urgent cares cause they try to help you out and fix the problem. I come to this one and it's like the PA didn't even care. He cared more about the fact that my daughter was a minor and that i shouldn't have took her there.I didn't appreciate the doctor saying to take my daughter to a pediatrician. I told him there's a wait everywhere and he told me to start looking around, like i never looked around before, which i have. So he's basically saying he doesn't care about minors to go elsewhere. Why the heck is he in an urgent care practice if he doesn't want to see kids.plus waited almost 2 hours just for him to say there's nothing wrong. When I asked him a question he couldn't answer it. All he stated if it gets worse just to come back or see a pediatrician and not them.

Okay first the good. The front end staff was very nice. I went early so the wait time wasn't bad. The nurse we saw was very nice and took the time to listen. Now the bad. Took my son in for a face infection. They said it was just minor, told me to give him benadryl and it would go away. Went back the next day. His face was swollen like crazy. Finally gave him antibiotics for an infection in his face. Happened again yesterday. Didn't want to give him oral antibiotics so gave him topical antibiotics. The infection and swelling moved to his eye. Went to the ED and they gave him antibiotics. I'm with another reviewer. Are these actually medical doctors that have gone to medical school?

One of the slowest place to call “Urgent Care”. I wouldn’t go here but if you have no other choice then I understand. Me personally I wouldn’t recommend this place, slowest place to process patients with a wait time of up to a hour per person. You wonder why they don’t have many patients lined up in one day, lack of staff and professional help. Stay away unless you have already made this your last alternative then good luck

I want to say thank you for seeing my daughter last week with pink eye. She was so miserable! It was 5:30 and we had already been to another urgent care and turned away. I called and Britany gave the ok to come it. Great service and treatment. Everyone was kind. I will definitely be back if we are in need of urgent care. Thank you!

The receptionist with short hair and glasses was the rudest person I have ever dealt with in healthcare. She threw the prescription on the counter at me and acted like she was bothered by doing her job! We called this place 3 damn times for a prescription to be sent and waited all damn day. Finally we had to just drive over there to get it and she was so rude. I don’t get why they are hiring people who have bad attitudes and are rude to people who are sick that’s disgusting! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND this urgent care.also they diagnosed my brother in law wrong and made what he had worse. Don’t go here!

I personally have come here twice now with health worries that I think most places would turn me away for. The staff and doctors are very friendly and understanding. The first time I came in they tested my thyroid instead of just dismissing me for being anxious. The second time they referred me to a endocrinologist. I felt so heard! The wait times were very short for both trips too. I'd recommend this place to anyone

I was having severe stomach pain and saw Jessica Johnston, PA at Duke City Urgent Care on Irving. I got to the clinic at 8am right as they opened and was seen shortly. I made an appointment online the night before which saved time, as I had already filled out my medical history and insurance info. Both Juliana and Brittany who work there where friendly and efficient. They did a clinical exam, did some blood tests, etc, and I was called back in a few days with results and a referral. As a result, I got a colonoscopy within a week. That's faster than I ever would have had that procedure scheduled had I gone through regular medical channels. Jessica was thorough and explained everything well. I will go back. And I hope they eventually offer primary care in this location. I would sign up in a heartbeat! Thanks!

I called to make an appointment for my husband, the girl I talked to told me to make it on line, I told her I tried but it wasn't going thru, she was very rude, hateful, and snotty so we ended up going elsewhere I will never go back here again.

I would not recommend going here if you have COVID. Both the NP and pharmacist made me feel very silly for coming in. I was told to "try drinking some water and cough syrup" as if I had never thought of that before. I understand now that the medication Prexlacovid may not be equally effective for everyone but there has got to be a better way of communicating that to patients rather than making them feel small and unintelligent.

I came to this location to be seen for severe back pain and they were closed at 4:05 in the afternoon on a Sunday when their hours state they close at 5:00pm. I understand that’s late for my coming by but don’t close before your posted hours. That’s very inconvenient when you need medical attention. Not coming back.

I walked in and tried to been seen for my daughter... The front desk lady was not very friendly or helpful she basically points at the code to scan which didn't work on my phone so I tried my daughter phone and it was just such a hassle to just get checked in do not recommend at all 😞 the front desk lady didn't seem to like her job very much or something

Staff is great! Dr. Michael Whiting was very rude and condescending, zero compassion and almost argumentative. I'll go back to duke city but will not want to see him as my provider again.

I arrived 5 minutes before they opened and I was the first one checked in. They took me to the back for my vitals after about 5 minutes. Then I was taken to an exam room. Everyone that came into the room was very nice and helpful. Overall I was out of the building in under an hour!

This place was awesome! I had an E-visit there for an ear infection. A nurse had the coolest tool to look in my ear so the NP online could see in my ear. I was in and out fast and everyone was so nice! 10/10

I went to Duke City Urgent care for pelvic pain. I had an ultrasound done and was told I needed an MRI stat due to the finding. I wanted to thank Dr Elyssa Acherman and her staff for their professional and compassion. Thank You Dr Acherman for calling me personally and following up. She is awesome! I got to visit my primary doctor due to what was found on my ultrasound. Thank God cancer was ruled out. I would definitely recommend anyone to this urgent care!!

Vanessa, not sure if she’s a nurse or medical assistant, makes this place amazing! She’s kind, helpful and extremely caring. Went out of her way to make me feel comfortable in an otherwise uncomfortable situation. I appreciate her concern and care. Truly beautiful soul. We need more people like her in this world. Thank you, Vanessa!

I waited for an hour to get seen. My blood pressure randomly spiking up 30 to 40 points and down 20-30 points. from my usual. Was told it wasn't an issue and told most of my side effects- like swelling- isn't a blood pressure issue. The doctor obviously doesn't have a degree or even went through medical care, even nurses know it makes you swell. Will never come back again. They ignored me and talked over me the whole time. They don't know best and refuse to acknowledge someone might know what's wrong with themselves. He tries to say it was covid or nothing when the only issue IS my blood pressure. Thanks for failing at your job.

The best experience I ever had...the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had to go to another Duke City Urgent Care on Montgomery for further tests. Wonderful experience there as well. I am in total awe about my experience there...if I ever need medical attention..Duke City Urgent Care is where I go. I thank the team for their best services I ever experienced here in Albuquerque.

Just had a wonderful experience here with our daughter yesterday who split her lower lip open quite badly on the playground. Fortunately did not need stitches but the PA glued it up very nice and took the time to make sure she did the best job possible so that it would heal nicely and hopefully not leave a scar. The PA did a wonderful job. My wife and I really liked the PA (I feel bad I don't remember her name :/), she was very nice and her scribe was very nice too. Very pleasant experience. Thank you for taking care of our daughter!
