The AKA Alexandria has to be by far the best hotel experience that I have ever had. I travel often for work and for personal matters and the customer service, the atmosphere, the vibe, all are taken into account. I met with every single level of staffing during my stay and they are all wonderful people. The staff were very personable, professional, and accommodating. The modern luxury touch and finishes inside the hotel were fantastic. The gym equipment was sufficient, and the food was great! I think that they will be adding more options to their cafe which is great news. This hotel was great and I have some ideas that will make it an even more messed experience. 1) making each floor a specified artist. (This hotel has Italian art throughout but organizing it to get people to walk through and see the other parts of the hotel and art available is genius) 2) There’s a pillar that you have to walk around before you can see the staffing. I think finding a way to make the staff more visible upon entry would be to their benefit, because they are amazing people and should be seen! (Although this may involve an architect and construction, it does seem to be from the existing building design) All in all, I had an amazing time and 10/10 recommend and will return!

A Simply outstanding hotel. I travel to Alexandria often for work and the AKA has become my home away from home. The staff here is incredible; accommodating, friendly, and prompt with any issue. I honestly can’t say enough about how great the people here are. The hotel design and room appointments are as advertised on the website - elegant, soothing, and comfortable. I wish the AKA had more locations when I travel. I travel worldwide for work and stay in hotels something like 90-100 nights a year, and the AKA Alexandria is by far my favorite to come back to.

This hotel is newly renovated. I will say it is very interestingly decorated but on the first floor it is very dark. The rooms feature a lot of neat lighting and the bathrooms are spacious. The sheets could be softer but that was honestly our only complaint!!! Valet parking is the preference. We parked in a nearby parking garage and walked a short distance to save a few bucks. We took an Uber over to National Harbor for about $15.

A beautiful new & modern hotel. Beds were comfortable (firm but soft). The bathroom was really nice with good lighting options. The coffee in the room (Nesspresso) was better than at the cafe. The staff was really helpful. The valet system is great. You just click a link they sent in a text at check-in and your car is brought up. An easy 15-20 min walk to King Street, but there is also a free bus about a block away. Tradet Joe's & Harris Teeters are both within walking distance, along with a fantastic Thai place (Sisters) and an ABC store.

This was my first experience staying at an AKA property and this hotel located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, offered me all the amenities I have grown to expect in high end quality hotels. The service was impeccable, the room was better than I could have imagined. Spacious, comfortable and well designed. The front desk attendant Zaine was more than accommodating and I would return based on her attentiveness to every detail to make our stay comfortable. She was by far the best part of my visit. The location is excellent for walking around Alexandria and only a short car or metro ride to other parts of the area. This hotel is truly a gem neatly tucked away in Alexandria. I will be staying there again on my next trip to the Alexandria, DC area.

What a neat place. I stayed at this hotel a few days in Aug. super close to DC and George Washington’s house. It was a bit pricey, but over all nice. The hotel is super modern. Personally, I would add Alexa, Google or some type of ai for the rooms for lights, tv, thermostat settings, and blind controls. The bar was decent, I wasn’t impressed with breakfast, it was pretty limited. They do have a private theater room which was super cool. No ice makers on the floors though, room service was nice enough to bring me some ice. would defiantly recommend!

Couldn't wait to write this review. This was my first time in the area and this stay was an absolute gem. The hotel aesthetic and ambiance is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is very kind and provided great customer service, honestly ever person I interacted with. Nigel and the other front desk staff were kind and efficient. My room was a King Deluxe, I was very impressed with the space, it almost felt like a studio apartment. It was very clean, great decor and lighting and very comfortable bed. The lounge in this hotel is great size and there are many different spaces to relax or even work for a few hours. I got great service at the lounge bar, the music was lovely and the hours are decent. The gym is a fair size, has great natural lighting, beautiful plant decor and it overlooks the terrace that has lots of couches, fire pits, grills and lounge space. The restaurant is clean and pretty as well, I do wish there was a bit more options like fruit or fresh healthy foods available but the pastries and pressed juice was great. I didn't get to use the cinema but it was very pretty and a nice addition, they show movies all day. The valet is very fast and efficient, I loved the ability to request my car from my phone. Regarding the area, it is ideal as I traveled solo to explore the area, I could walk a block and get to a quick tasty meal and even the Harris Teeter. Loved this area and hotel! I would recommend and stay again.

Spent 3 nights here for business. Very clean and quiet. Good atmosphere. Lots of unusual furniture interesting art on the walls. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you need room service you can request it and they will take care of whatever you need, otherwise they leave you alone, which I liked. It’s very close to the Potomac River and Old Town Alexandria. I was able to get to the hotel from the airport via a very short ride on the Metro (about 3 miles). The metro station is less than a mile from the hotel so I just jumped on a bus to get there. Pretty easy. Also, there is great food all around the area. Everything I had was fantastic.

Couldn’t wait to leave this review! First time visit at AKA and my high expectations leading up to the visit were surpassed upon arrival. The team went above and beyond in making sure we had a perfect and enjoyable stay. For example, they knew it was my birthday and left me a hand written card and chocolates in the hotel room (photo attached). Parking was not an issue once during our stay, as there was free street parking around the hotel (we parked directly in front of the hotel). I admittedly consider the decor and aesthetic of a hotel before making a reservation. AKA can be described as modern, minimal, and intimate. The only comment I could make about something being better is the food menu in the bar and cafe. Would never need to leave the hotel if there were true “entrees” and “meals” offered. Can’t wait to stay at AKA again. 10/10 would recommend!

This is the second time I have stayed at the AKA Alexandria and I cant say enough great things. I never leave reviews but they deserve it. I pulled in with a problem with my car and the wonderful valet (I wish I remembered her name) cheerfully told me she would fix everything. Front desk, Reggie (I think) greeted me and gave me 2 drink vouches. I went up to my room, which they had upgrades and boxes of goodies and a lovely note were waiting for me. They really are a special hotel. I wont stay anywhere else.

We had a wonderful stay at AKA Alexandria! We were waiting for this gem to open and it did not disappoint. The second you walk in you are greeted by a really welcoming team and beautiful space. The artwork is so eclectic and the finishes feel very sleek/modern. We enjoyed a suite and it was the PERFECT size for a birthday gathering. The bed was extremely comfortable, the living room was really nice for entertaining, and the bathroom?? Gorgeous and so elegant and a HUGE walk-in shower. And finally the staff! They were so accommodating and really went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasurable stay. We can’t wait to be back once all the finishing details are complete.

Once we arrived, we were very surprised how nice the place looked. Nigel had checked us in and he was very friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff was very friendly too. We were about to go on a bike ride and they offered us some water, which was very helpful. We enjoyed staying in our room. I will definitely go back because I want to see that beautiful stairs completed. Also I will try the restaurant next time. The hotel is located in a great location. We used the bus and metro to get around. Now it's one of my favorite hotels I stayed at.

Our stay at Hotel AKA Alexandria was beyond incredible. The hotel is like a work of art- from the stunning lobby to the sleek, modern rooms. The beds are so comfortable, and the pillows and sheets are top quality! We will definitely be back!!

I am currently in this hotel as I write this. This has been by far the best hotel experience I have ever had. When I pulled up Michael aka Mike greeted me, assistant with my bags and insisted that I did not lift a finger. He opened the door for me and said, “after you” then waited for me finish checking in so he could escort me to my room and carry my bags in. I valeted my car and preferred to keep my keys with me. Michael would park my vehicle and then deliver the keys to my room once finished. Which really provided me peace of mind. Escadar at the front desk has such sweet and pleasant countenance. She is so courteous has good customer service and soft skills. Also, the other valet man (looks like Morgan Freeman the actor), he was very nice and accommodating as well. Please do right by these employees because they are the ones who made my visit five stars. I came to the area to get away and to celebrate my birthday. The hotel rooms and lobby area are very aesthetically pleasing and immaculate. Thank you. I will definitely be back!❤️

Service, upscale feel and ambiance are what made our stay at AKA Alexandria world-class. I highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the DC area. Very walkable to great restaurants, coffee shops and the waterfront. My family will be staying here again!

Hotel has a great location, they do not do any house keeping unless you request which honestly is not acceptable, day of check in was very good everyone was attentive to our needs, but after getting to the room it was all downhill, when u arrive there are 2 bottles of water in fridge but they never come back to the room to give clean towels. No tissues after the 2nd day of our stay. Needed water called front desk had to call 2x took 40 minutes to get water to our room. Water pressure in shower not good, no hot water in sink, kudos to bar & cafe, just seem they are inexperienced.

This was honestly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Alexandria. It’s a European styled hotel and I’m obsessed with it. The hotel was sparkling clean and the service was AMAZING. Nigel checked me in and not only was he very polite he was very patient in explaining the hotel and it’s amenities. The entire staff is very pleasant! I had to check out late and the lady that was at the desk was very pleasant and gave me an additional hour. I’ll definitely return honestly moving forward this is the only hotel I’ll be staying at in Alexandria

Still relatively knew when I visited and some areas still needed to be completed but overall, I enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back. I liked that it was affordable, in a great location (walking distance to everything you will need) and the drinks in the bar area were great! Customer service was also great - amazing staff ! it felt like I was in a different country each time I interacted with staff considering they hired staff from different countries which was amazing. Only downside was how loud the AC is in the rooms and the shower water pressure.

The hotel is new, very clean, modern and fresh. The decor is unique. The only negative: the ability of the staff to assist with comfort/medical issues is limited, particularly after "normal" hours. After a very long day of travel, we arrived after 9 PM. I experienced a low blood sugar episode, and we were without anything to help stabilize my blood sugar. My husband checked with the front desk for anything that could help, and they had nothing. They directed him to a store several blocks down the street. This, in spite of assurances that anything we needed, just let them know. I'm aware that ultimately, this is our responsibility. But travel often presents unique challenges. When booking, I made a request that was never acknowledged. A few tweaks and the AKA could be 5 star.

New hotel in old town Alexandria. The room was very clean. A bit tight in some areas. It's built on a European model. The bathroom is very spacious and European. Front desk staff were very pleasant. My only complaint is the hotel does not offer self parking. They only have valet parking. We prefer not use valet parking.

I can’t say enough about Hotel aka and their staff. Eskedar and the team there are the best!! Contemporary style with top tier hospitality. I have found a new gem in the DC area. The stay was so great, I’ve already booked a room for my next visit. If you need a hotel in Alexandria/DC area choose Hotel aka, you won’t be disappointed!!

Enjoyed a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The sitting areas were very relaxing and spacious. Valet parking was extremely efficient when delivering your vehicle to you. Lori (Valet) was very helpful and gracious after I left a folder in the vehicle, she quickly brought the vehicle to me to retrieve the folder. I was a bit disappointed with the coffeemaker in the room, however, the clothes steamer was excellent!

My family and I had an incredible stay at Hotel AKA Alexandria. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning ranging from the decor, scenery and overall atmosphere. Our room was clean and the interior design blew us away. Also, major kudos to the staff members, Anastasia & Joseph! We were immediately met with kind and courteous staff members that made our check-in process run smoothly, available to answer any questions we had, accommodated an early check-in at the last minute AND assisted us with our luggage to our room. I 10/10 would recommend anyone stay here. If you’re looking for aesthetically pleasing accommodations, balanced with kind, professional, and courteous staff - you’ve found the right place! Thank you all for providing such an enjoyable experience!

Very cool decor and lighting. Very clean. Rooms are very modern. Would definitely stay here again. My only thing to note is the hotel could be better secured in the late hours. We didn’t have an issue but most hotels have the main doors only accessible with your key card. This hotel you could walk right in and up the stairwell with no security measures in place.
