Come see this 1800's style sailing vessel with cannons aboard. Located at the Old Town Alexandria Pier next to Founders' Park, it is well worth the trip. Allow a few extra minutes to your planning to find a parking space, as parking is sparse and may require a little walking to get to where the ship is.

This use to be known as Fishtown. You may quess why but enslaved and freed both worked here to clean and prepare fish brought in by the fishermen. Near the volley ball court was the idustrial area where a lot of African American males got jobs in the factories after the Civil War. Now it is a lovely park.

Nice little park on the Potomac River. Very small and can be very crowded on the weekends. It is directly connected to the Alexandria pier, where you can take a mini cruise to a boat taxi the national Harbor. Nice place to hang out mid week when it is quiet.

Wonderful local neighborhood park with a nice view of the water with benches to relax, a small pleasant garden area, volleyball court, and plenty of green space for picnics and spontaneous gatherings. Alexandria and dc do neighborhood parks well, and this is a top drawer example.

When I think about this park it amazed me because when I was a little boy it was amazing to see people enjoying their lives in themselves on days that they was off from work I just seen people get married here I'm at the love of my life here I also captured people walking their dogs here and they look very happy and just enjoying life in experiencing different moments and memories here it's the reason why I love this

If you are planning to visit Old Town in Alexandria, consider parking close to Founders Park and start your walk from there. As you stroll along the riverside, you can watch boats sail by. It is not uncommon to see street performance on the waterfront. There are tons of great restaurants and antique shops as well.

When the weather is nice, this is the place I want to be. Living in old town can be a bit noisy but this little park helps me enjoy a bit of nature and it's a quite a treat too! The landscape is so well kept, there are plenty of benches to sit on, many trees that offer shade when it's really hot and sunny out, and the "trail" itself is nice to get your exercise on too. It's kind of a combination of being both a park and a dog park without the actual dog fence in place - I think it would be nice to have an official dog area in place but they do have a dog fountain for dogs to replenish themselves. My boyfriend and I LOVE to picnic at this park and while it does get busy during the nice weather - it doesn't take away the beauty at all. It's a very pleasant and hip area where you will find both families and friends of all ages hanging out - even on summer nights! Old town is charming altogether, but this is one of my favorite places to be for sure.

It's a very pretty park to spend an hour or two on a nice sunny November day, or probably any other day. People everywhere, enjoying the volleyball, reading by the river, the interesting little garden and picnicking on the grass.

A very nice park next to Old Town Alexandria. Their website bills this park as, “...a peaceful riverside park that borders the Potomac River in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia” They are quite correct about that. It is located to the west of Union Street, south of Oronoco, and north of Queen street. It is a park with several asphalt paths that wind through the park. There are several open grass-covered areas that meander through the park. One entire side of the park (the east side) lines the Potomac river. The Old Time Alexandria Harbor is on the south end or the water portion of the park and is a nice place to visit while you are there. It is considered a passive park and cannot be reserved for private use. People are allowed to use it informally provided that their use does not interfere with others using the park. When we visited there were people walking their dogs, relaxing on the lawn, and enjoying the river view. There is no fence separating the park from the town and so it seems more open. It appeared to have street parking along the union street edge of the park. Overall, it was a very nice park right along the water that added charm to Old Town Alexandria. Enjoy.

Can’t go wrong with Founders Park!! I love taking my family here for picnics and playing with our dog! It’s in the heart of Old Town and has everything from food and entertainment steps away. I highly recommend for anyone in the area to come check out this relaxing park on the Potomac!

It was an amazing outing for the whole family! Loved that they had 2 times for fireworks for the new year, 6pm and midnight!

Nice park. Heart for having fun with the kids without worrying about social distance because of large space and few people around. Fine Arts Center and nice restaurants are walking distance!
