The Nuragic civilization was a Sardinian indigenous population who lived on the Island from the Bronze Age (ca. 2300 BC) up until the late Roman era (ca. 6th century AD), in certain areas. They take their name from the unique buildings they used to live in, called Nuraghe: there are about 8000 Nuraghe scattered around Sardinia, all in different stages of conservation. Nuraghe Palmavera is a well-kept Nuragic complex, with some unique features that make it a place of great archeological interest. The main building shows traces of being built during different eras, further proving the fact that the Nuragics weren’t a static civilization.

Stunning! Very historical and we were quite impressed of how the structures are still in good shape, it’s definitely one stop to make if you come to Alghero, person in charge was also a really nice person.

Shady place. Nuraghe Palmavera is one of the best kept nuraghe in Sardinia. It is a complex nuraghe with a surrounding village that has been largely excavated. The village encircles the nuraghe and currently consists of about 50 huts. Such nuraghe can only be found in Sardinia.

Interesting and well maintained complex of a Nuragh settlement with comprehensive explanations (incl. an audio-guide in different languages). A Museum Shop and a Cafe are adjacent.

Woah! What a privilege to be able to walk around in an ancient village. Felt the energy of the past, present and future among these stones still standing. Highly recommend visiting this site, there's also a very beautiful beach near by.

Worth a visit, but a car is recommended, we hiked for 10km in 30 degrees...back and forth. All the information on site is in english which is nice.

It's amazing to think that you're walking where people lived thousands of years ago. The place is well kept and informative. The cafe bar is clean and has great service. Very friendly and multi-lingual. A great place to sit and reflect.

Nice nuraghe site. Kids and parents both enjoyed. Spent about an hour here, strolling around and learning about the Nuragic culture.

It's actually quite interesting location to walk around and had a glimpse into how people might have lived a few thousand years ago

Nice place to visit in Sardinia if you are interested in history. You can go there by car - there is a parking or from Alghero you can ride by a bike. You will maily ride along the bicycle path or on quit roads, it was beautiful. The Nuraghe was also beatiful, there are some interesting information about it. You can go at the top of the nuraghe and see the whole complex. You can also buy there some souvenirs, food and drinks.
