Some patient complaint about DR. Robert Chan, he does not visit her or him when they are in the hospital. Just because some of the insurance do not cover per doctor visit. this is very common thing happened daily. I choice Dr. Chan as a primary family doctor since 2009 until now. I was in the hospital about 5 times in 2009, he did not visit me one time in hospital . I do not complaint, i understanded he did not get paid for visit. In fact, Dr. Chan is very friendly but the front desk register ,she name is christian. she is lack of communication with patients, schedule uncontroll. she is being ruin and impolite with patient. Her manner is getting worst year after year. Until today , i am thinking about switch to different doctor.

I’ve never seen Dr. Chan, but this places receptionist is horrible and rude. I am a new patient called in and asked for appointment. When the receptionist heard that I am a new patient, she gave me a “heavy sigh” like the world is about to end. Also, she mentioned that the Doctor is on vacation, so I was trying to ask when the Dr. Chan comes back which I didn’t get a chance to ask the question. She immediately said you can switch doctor. This is the most horrible experience that I ever had calling in a doctor office. The receptionist feel like that she doesn’t work there.

The worst front desk service for the Main St. Alhambra location. Lupe staff member- Super abrasive and unwelcoming tone of voice being used; she speaks to you like you are a child that needs to be scolded. She treated a Latina patient 10 times better than Asian patients. Basically driving business away for the doctor. I wished the nice lady, Joyce I spoke to on the phone was there. Decided it was a sign to not come to this doctor.

Worst experience ever, I had an appointment I am 5 months pregnant and I was waiting almost for 2 hours I had my appointment they scheduled me for lab tests and they just gave me a paper and didn’t explain anything, they referred me to an OB GYN and a got an approval letter I called so I could scheduled the appointment and it seems that this office sent some codes wrong! and they didn’t schedule me because of the error, front desk really unprofessional they don’t even know what they are doing I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

This is my first time having to go to a doctor outside of Kaiser and it’s been horrible. I work at a medical clinic myself so I knew the receptionist at this place didn’t know how to do her job right by the way she was talking to me and the questions she was asking me. I had to educate her about her role and provide her with next steps to help schedule my appointment. Also she told me the doctor would engage in a telephonic encounter and at my appointment time I got completely ghosted by the medical clinic. This is scary bc I’m asking to see my PCP since I was in the ER twice this week for breathing issues. They don’t care about their patients, they just want money. I told the receptionist I was a new pt and she said the dr was on vacation then rudely told me to switch providers. I read they did this before so I’m shocked and will be escalating my issues with other agencies to get an investigation going about this place.

I’ll start with a positive, the staff Lupe really went above and beyond to make sure I was taking care of. Outside of that the office is old, the system being used is outdated. The doctor wasn’t present so I was seen by a nurse when I waited 2 weeks to see the actual doctor. The AC wasn’t working so me and all of the other patients were sweating and very hot as we waited to be seen by the nurse not the doctor. The address online is also wrong and needs to be updated. Overall it seems that Robert Chan cares more about making money through Medicare than actually helping and seeing he’s patients. Moving forward I will be changing Providers asap.

My parents use to see this dr. Chan and his service is horrible. They are rude, impatient, and care more about making money from insurance than caring about their parents. I’m very glad that my parents finally decided to switch providers rather than continue to endure this.

Working "effectively" with agents to put patients into groups. I guess he gets lots of benefits from that. I took my grandpa to an agent to ask more about Medicare Advantage program. Only minutes after that agent just called doctor's office to verify if he accepts the plan we ( I and my grandpa) are interested in or not, his agent called my grandpa and warned him not to leave the group doctor registered for him ! He lost our trust since then!
