This is very sad I’m writing a review on our neighborhood restaurant I used to love ……. So we haven’t been back since Covid started , and today the visit was incredibly disappointing …. We ordered pad Thai, crab wonton , and cream Tom yum soup . The chicken in pad Thai had a very suspicious smell to it when we bite it. I think it has been sitting in the fridge for more then 4 month…. Noodle was way too wet … TT-TT didn’t bring out the aroma of stir fried noodles at all. Meat was so bad , My boyfriend and I Spit it out and took out the chicken sadly picking the noodle out. Crab wonton was a whole new level of disappointment …. I think it’s been sitting there for a while so it came out cold , cream cheese wasn’t melty . Skin was SUPER thick , has a powdery taste to it , NOT CRISPY !! But what amaze me is … HOW CAN U MESS UP FRIED CRAB WONTON ….. TTA TT!!!! Cream tom yum was pretty good , very creamy and had a savory taste to the soup. Only thing I would say about it is that it’s a bit thick …. Kinda like the bottom of the hotpot soup ? But overall I really liked it … Anyhow , it use to be one of those spot we go to that just can’t go wrong …. I understand Covid happened and many uncontrollable situation happen to restaurants , but in sincerely hope purple Thai would try to pull themselves up with quality of food again :’(

I want to go here again, I'm craving the garlic! the satay-style dipping sauce for the rolls waswas less sweet, more brown and tangy than usual. Pleasing service and atmosphere

Not crowded. Great vegetable tempura and orange shrimp. I had the steamed bass. It was very flavorful, highly recommend this restaurant.

I was so disappointed. I enjoyed the sake flight but thats really it. I asked for extra potatoes in my yellow curry and there were like 3 potato pieces but a heck ton of bell peppers like half a plate worth. Even if I like peppers it's too way much. Also every other Thai place I've ever been to gives a side or rice w the curry but not this one you gotta order it separately. I decided to get the roti side and the menu picture was like 4 stacked on a plate and they just gave me one. Are you kidding me just one roti?? Also the fish tank was so gross I really hope there's no fish suffering in that much.

In town for a few days, love Thai food, figured a small Thai restaurant within walking distance with 3.5 stars couldn’t possibly be that bad. Well, it was the worst food I have ever had, and the first bite made me want to puke, completely threw it out. Disgusting. Smell, taste, meat questionable, flavor was NOT Thai, and quality was super poor, also really oily and greasy for a fried rice dish. I am a Thai food lover so I’ve eaten at hundreds of Thai restaurants but this was NOT Thai food. Really gross 🤮 waste of $15 and I was super sad and still hungry.

Thai Purple used to be really good, but I wondered if they had a change in their chef. I noticed the food tasted rather differently now; it's NOT bad, just different. One of my favorite dish is the fried tilapia (not many places would do a good job on this one).

Will not come back here ever again! So disappointed! The soup had no flavor I asked for chicken chowmein and they gave me pork!! I do not eat pork took one bite before realizing it was pork and my stomach is a hot mess sooo much pain!

Entree portion was so tiny + watery. The Xtra charged 24oz drink was 16oz but I didn't want them to spit in my food for questioning. Appetizer was dried! Charged full price on dessert with tax, then deduct the $2+ some cents but kept the tax. There are much more decent places around than this one! The young waitress was very polite, not the mature one!

Tried for the first time today and wow wow! Loved the Pad Thai, it was so delicious. I got with chicken and two shrimps. And best part is since it’s Tuesday was only $6.99! I might be returning every Tuesday. Seriously, can’t beat that! If you’re ordering under $20 worth of food, make sure to bring cash.

Wonderful Thai restaurant. Food is delicious, a little on the sweet side. Attentive, fast staff. Quiet location that had sports playing on the TVs

I'm in the service business so I don't typically want to review harshly since I know how people can be. But my experience tonight was ridiculous. Having ordered dinner with my wife and our one night out she was served and my dish basically never came. After she finished her meal we decided to cancel mine since it was probably never coming. I've never experienced anything like this in dining. And we will never, ever, return.

I say, best Thai restaurant in city of Alhambra! Their food is no doubt 5 🌟 & on 🔥 🔥 🔥 Oh and thank you Thai Purple and to Doordash!

No one can beat the value and taste of their $6.99 pad thai TUESDAYS. Nice atmosphere. Friendly and pleasant staff. Deliciously cooked Thai dishes.

thai purple is one of my very fav restaurants. i used to try to go at least once a month for the 5+ years i residing in la. the decor really made the atmosphere and the food so good i learned how to make some of the dishes (i was previously unfamiliar with) that i couldn’t have when i moved. the staff very friendly! my favs to order are the avocado eggroll, with plum sauce, the spicy cucumber w/ lechon kawali salad, the hot pot and thai tea! so yummy it’s 3am here where i am (12am in cali) and now i’m am craving the yummy foods:<

Our dinner was delicious. This steam fish was the star...and a close runner up was the green curry with shrimp. I can't wait to come back with my daughter who loves Thai food.

Nice atmosphere, tasty Thai food for a low price - the combo that is offer 11am-5pm (dine in only) is a perfect choice for students for only 11.99; Portion is not large comparing to other places, but is just right so you won't feel too full or have to waste the food.

i had noodles with sprouts n chicken, there was a slight sweetness to the plate, and it was well made. there was cabbage and carrot garnish, with powdered nuts(including peanuts) so keep that in mind. The Thai tea was too strong for me.

I haven't here since the pandemic opened but we got here during lunch and were the only ones in the restaurant. We had our orders taken right away and service is great. I got a chicken pad thai and my husband got the Thai Purple curry. My pad thai was so yummy. The noodles was cooked just right and it was so flavorful. I mixed in the bean sprout etc and it was the best combo ever. My husband curry had just the right amount of spice it in and the potatoes and veggies in curry was cooked just right. We'll definitely be back.
