Interesting experience. Walked back from the Statue of Christ to the ferry terminal via the elevator and walking track. Great views from the top as well as below. The elevator is glass, but the window was dirty. It does the job. Itā€™s a little slow and was quite dirty when we went. Got us down, though we were dubious at first when we saw the graffiti covered door and derelict surroundings. There was a lift attendant inside who didnā€™t say much. The area didnā€™t feel very safe, but when we got to the bottom there was a lovely little park with lots of people around watching the sunset. Wonderful views of the bridge. There are toilets at the bottom of the elevator. Canā€™t remember, but I think probably required payment. The walk back to the ferry along the water passed lots of derelict, graffiti covered buildings. Some were filled with garbage. Not quite what I expected. Despite that, There were plenty of people walking and the views to the water were lovely.

We had bought a 24hr metro pass so took the ferry over for a look. Turned right from terminal and walked along path by waters edge. We discovered the elevator by surprise and was free to use and someone is there to operate it. You get a good look at the view on the way up. Saves heaps of walking. There is an electronic information board a minutes walk from the top of the elevator giving info on what you can do and how to get there. At the bottom of the elevator there is a grassed area where its nice to watch the world go by. Today there were people fishing, yachting and kayaking. Planes and ferries were a good watch too.

A convenient modernist elevator that allows a quick access between the riverwalk to Cacilhas and old Almada on top of the hill. The elevator is panoramic, the view is amazing. On top, a bridge spans between the lift and the hill (the part that might be most challenging to the the vertigo afflicted). On the bottom, there are public toilets. The elevator is not always operating though. It's free.

Beautiful elevator view. Free when we visited on a holy week. Long queue but worth it than walking all the way. You can skip it and choose to walk when going down. Glasses of this elevator need to be cleaned and needs maintenance

Fantastic views of Lisbon await you FOR FREE! Walk along the front from the ferry and enjoy the ride up in the glass elevator. It's a shame the cafe at the top is closed, but there are plenty of other options nearby.

Out of action today. Would be helpful if notices were placed at Cacilhas and along waterfront, especially if not fit enough for walk uphill. While there was someone at the bottom to guide us to the correct path, signage would be a good idea also. The uphill walk past the naval museum is doable if of moderate fitness. We didnā€™t find strenuous but have just come off 2 weeks walking parts of the Camino.

My favorite place to see the Sunset in Lisbon. Just cross the river with the boat to Cacilhas, walk a few minutes and you'll arrive at the garden. Perfect for opening a bottle of wine, sitting on the lawn and enjoying the view.

Free elevator (and free toilet), perfect if you want to skip some of the hill when walking up to the Cristo Rei!

Sunset from the top is breathtaking. One of the best sunsets I have ever witnessed. Can you believe that the elevator is free of charge!!! I took the ferry from Cais Santre to Casilhas and walked up to the elevator along the waterfront. The walk itself was fantastic. You get a good view of Lisbon from the other side. You can also enjoy street art... It's a must do and only cost me 1.50 euro for the ferry ride..From the top you get a good view of the bridge and also Christ King statue.. There's is also a bar as you get off from the top of the elevator if you need to enjoy a beer and take everything in slowly...

Nice place to see sunset. Its moderately crowded, specially in the weekend. I have been there several times. I liked the ambience. You can have a wonderful view if Lisbon city from the other side.

You get up the cliff quickly. It's a nice viewpoint. There is security at the elevator. They go all the way every single time up and down. So or can feel quite safe going on this ride. There are also toilets down which are reasonably clean.

I went up after 6 pm, and it was free. My friend said I suppose to pay for it, but I didn't. This place is in the same spot as Jardim do Rio, so you can enjoy both places. You can take a walk after you go up. It's a nice spot to chill out your day.

Nice lift to see Lisbon from the other side the river.... On top there should be a small coffee shop(?)but completely abandoned( hope it's only due to being winter when I passed). Connects to the walk that goes until the boats ( cacilheiro)

Lovely lookout/elevator in Almada. Allows for a magnificent view of Lisbon. Nicely surrounded with a couple of restaurants and bars right there as well. A tad on the dirty side. Appreciate the toilets at the bottom part of it! Very much worth the visit and the walk to it

This was an essential visit after catching the ferry from Cais do Sodre to Cacilhas. Itā€™s about a 15 min walk along the coast past lots of graffitiā€™d old buildings and dead jellyfish. There are two great restaurants in the way too. The lift is free and there was hardly any wait. Once you get to the top make sure you visit the beautiful Casa da Cerca for stunning views and chilled vibes.

This panoramic view is one of the best on this side, the high point with no obstacles it's located on Almada and is also a cafƩ. When you are having a cold drink or a simple coffee is possible to appreciate a great view over lisbon and Almada coast, you may see all of touristic points. This amazing coffe shop is amazing to chip and enjoy the envoirement, you have stars that allow's you to go to the lowest point, or if you prefer, you can go on the elevator. Enjoy this amazing spot, very nice to take same pictures over Cristo Rei with a sttuning landscape or 25 Bridge if you remember go on the sunset you will be blow away with the colors and shapes.
