We went there for a dinner. After we arrived we wanted to take a look at the garden and take pictures. We were told to stay within the boundaries shown. We were not allowed to see the gardens as we would disturb (!) other guests. As a 55 year old couple we found it very offensive to be tested like two kids that could make noise and disturb people. Besides there were no guests around. Therefore we had to walk up to the restaurant and sit our table towards a blinding sunset at 7:00. Clearly we went there too early to eat or even sit at the restaurant. There were two waiters and five other tables with foreigners. Menu was very limited and they were not serving wine by the glass. As my husband has a liver condition he wouldn't drink alcohol and I wouldn't drink a bottle of wine, we had to order water. Food came quickly. It was not at a standard equal to its price. So we ended up having an overpriced dinner, under a blinding sun, without a glass of wine and told to stay where we are and not wonder around. Don't go there for meals it is not worth it.

Amazing hotel!! I had a chance to stay here for 3 nights and the entire staff were INCREDIBLE. The view was amazing, the staff was friendly, and the food was tasty. I highly recommend this hotel for families and couples that want somewhere quiet and private to enjoy. P.S. There is also a cute Jack Russell Terrier around the hotel grounds that is owned by one of the staff :)

Modestly promised but massively over delivered. The room with terrace and river view simply breathtaking. The customer service first class, every team members attitude and effort to ensuring excellent customer experience can not be faulted. Will definitely be booking again!

Quinta do Tagus was our first stop on our round trip through southern Portugal. We stayed 3 nights in the Panorama suite. There is so much to love about this hotel…. The location is very idyllic - you feel like staying in the countryside with lots of pine trees and crickets around you, but you will enjoy fantastic views of Lisbon, the Tago river and the sea in a distance. Hard to beat ! Yet the Centre of Lisbon is reached in a 25 minute Uber ride, costing around 15 euro. Or you could take the ferry boat to Cais to Sodre (the terminal is a 10 minute drive from the hotel). The garden and pool area are great places for lazy afternoons - great views (again) from in the pool, comfortable sun loungers, prompt pool service… truly great. All personnel was truly very kind, sympathetic and most helpful ! They took good care of us during breakfasts, lunches and dinners ! Food was pretty good, in our opinion. I had sea bass and octopus - both were excellent. My husband had lamb cutlets and duck - he was also very happy with his choice. The wine list is very interesting as well ! Breakfast was à la carte but you really could order as much as you like. Different breads, cheese, meat, eggs in 6 different ways ( very good Benedict eggs), marmalade, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cake, pancake, granola… you name it. Our Panorama Suite was really amazing : very big room and an even bigger terrace. From our very large bed (200 cm wide) we could see Lisbon, the river and the sea… the bathroom was functional and even had a Zen ambiance, thanks to the well manicured trees just outside. On the terrace, we had 2 very comfy sun loungers. In our opinion, this must have been the best room in the hotel ! So, to all personnel we met, a big thank you for the perfect start of our holidays ! We will be back ! Bart & Tommy

We stayed at Quinta do Tagus for 10 incredible days. And we loved every minute of it. The staff exists of friendliest people you could wish for. They're all very kind and eager to help you and make your stay as wonderful as possible. When I told the pastry chef I loved lemon cakes, she even made a beautiful and delicious cake for the breakfast buffet. I wish I could add a picture to this post, because it was a true beauty and it tasted amazing. It is a calm hotel with a lot of places to explore. There are three lovely dogs and some horses that like to be petted. The poolseats were wonderful to spend the earlier part of the day in with an occasional dive in the pool. Quinta do Tagus also is the perfect place to visit Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, Setubal and other places from. Thank you so much for making our holiday the best we've ever had! We'll be returning!

I normally book through Expedia or Bookings. This place is not offered on either. After checking out the pictures and reviews online, I decided to make the extra effort to book through its official website. It’s a right decision. Everything turned out be perfect: Beautiful grounds; amazing view of the city across Tagus; friendly staff; great food. We will definitely return.

The owner of the hotel did not show up for the scheduled meeting. We flew from another country specifically to see and book rooms his hotel however he was not there. Unprofessional, lack of service and respect to his future guests. What a disappointment and rudness from his side! Waste of time!

This is a hidden gem outside Lisboa. When you first arrive it has a magical feeling when you enter. It’s snuggled into a hillside over looking the Tagus River with Lisboa lit up across the river. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. The bar tender and staff were friendly, funny, great source of advice for the local scene. The food was very good and excellent value. It’s romantic, quiet, quintessential Portugal and the rooms are large with great sunset views. We will be back again and again.

We arrived here very late a night and thought we were headed in the wrong direction when we hit the one lane dirt road. However, we made it here and it is fantastic!!! Our room overlooks the river with a terrific view of Lisbon (especially at night). Staff is very friendly and welcoming. If we are in Lisbon again, we would definitely spend a couple of nights here.

Such a find! We wanted a short but restful break from the U.K. and this fitted the bill perfectly. We had a river view room, which felt private and quiet. Bed was large and comfortable as were the pillows! The views are amazing, and although we planned to visit Lisbon, we just couldn’t be bothered to move. The food was delicious, and the staff warm and welcoming, the chap on reception (Gonzales I think) made us feel right at home. Will most definitely be back. If you want a restful secluded break, book it!

Wife and I had an excellent stay here as a vacation from our busy vacation. The views are great, food is delicious, and the service from all staff is top notch. Would highly recommend a stay here for anyone looking for a break without the need to go elsewhere if you don't want to. Only critique would be losing hot water once ... Although I imagine this is a function of being completely booked and happen to be one of the last people getting a shower in the morning rush.

This was my first time in Portugal and I really wanted a quiet, peaceful, comfy place to stay while I recovered from a couple weeks in Western Africa. Everyone here was so kind, so willing to help me navigate the city, and so accommodating, especially the gentleman in the glasses at the reception ☺️ The food was incredible and the property is absolutely breathtaking. I could not have asked for a better place to stay!

Perfect for a stay if the purpose is relaxing, coming down and just enjoy nature and wonderful views. Owner is very nice, rooms are spacious and the views are breathtaking… during day time and even more after sunset when the lights from the opposite coast from Tejo river are shimmering. Breakfast selection is very good, no buffet fights… everything is being served to the table and this also contributes to an outstanding atmosphere. Clean (and I thought heated) spacious pool provide an additional chance for a perfect relax. Parking available and you will need it because the location is really hidden in the outback with narrow roads leading there… it´s worth it!

For us the absolute best thing about the hotel was the view. Both from the garden as well as from our room we had a spectacular view of Lissabon. Our room was not "our style" but the view excused everything. The staff of the hotel was super friendly and courteously. As we were traveling with a baby we enjoyed the option of having free room service. The food was good. Especially the breakfast we enjoyed a lot. I would always come back to this place

Thank you Quinta Tagus for an amazing experience I really enjoyed staying here beautiful place I loved it. The staff was very professional and friendly from the moment we arrived to the moment we left they was always checking up on us and giving the best service too. The rooms are very nice and clean first day I walked into the room there was a lovely smell which was a nice way of being welcomed too. The presentation of the breakfast in the morning was really good also all the food was cooked really well. I did like the location of the hotel also as it's a very low key place you get a nice view of Lisbon as well those who are looking for a romantic spot to enjoy with your partner I would highly recommend this place. I'm very happy to give Quinta Tagus a 5 star review I look forward to going back staying there again on my next trip.

The whole staff treated us as friends even though we arrived very late. Rooms were modern and clean, with a jaw dropping view of Belem and Lisbon. Breakfast tasteful, filling, enough to last the whole day. Easily accessed with Uber. Close to Cacilhas with it's excellent restaurants. We will return
