We enjoyed our visit to the tunnels. A fascinating historical tour that details what various persons went through during the wars and how the persons hid underground. Make sure you book tickets in advance though we managed to get tickets on the day within a few minutes of the start of the tour. Add this to your list when visiting Almeria.

Great place to visit. Easy to park nearby in underground parking. Cheap entrance at €3 and there is a lift for people who can't do the stairs. About one hour tour in Spanish.

Quite the unique experience. Yes, the tour is in Spanish (there are some English information boards and subtitles) but that’s fine... it’s still something you’ll not experience anywhere else! A trip 90m below the city... through remarkable tunnels that still have the ambience of safety and fear combined. And don’t expect to end up where you started! €3 currently, pre-booked tours. Worth every cent!!

The tunnels are really interesting but you need to visit with a tour and the tour availability and booking seems very confusing and complicated? Also no English tours? We were very lucky to be at the door when a guide was looking for more people for a tour. It was mostly in Spanish but Amelio was great to summarise information in English for us.

If your in Almería town definately check out this very interesting historic tour. We had a great guide, some good stories and interesting facts. I would definately this 1.5 hour tour that covers about 1km of tunes.

I went here solo, it was booked out, the lady realised i had used my google maps to find it and i was also alone, so she told me come back for the last viewing. This was very kind of her, as i was leaving the next day,. When you go, you watch an interesting video clip for 10/15 mins in spanish but has English subtitles, which was very interesting. However when you actually visit the shelters, everything is in Spanish & the tour guide talks a lot & fast, so i definitely felt i missed out. They should definitely have some information printed in various languages, even to purchase at an extra cost, as they just charge €3 to enter, which is very cheap. The shelters were kept in great condition & you could even see the medical wing. Definitely worth a visit if you speak /understand Spanish. You cant get out till the tour is finished, i think it lasted about 45mins.

Enjoyed a guided tour more than I expected. Very interesting and our guide was foreign so no politics mixed in just historical facts. Interesting some of the rules were not to talk politics since this was a refuge for both sides. When you arrive there are tour guides that will fit you into their next tour . Normally sold out otherwise.

Price ok. Nothing spectacular, guided tour only in Spanish, even though the intro movie has English subtitles. Very few highlights like a food storage and an underground hospital, rest is just walking through a tunnel ...

Interesting hour but you need to know Spanish

This is a lovely place to visit historically but sad to think what the people went through. There is a video to start with in english subtitles but in spite of the tour guide able to speak english he never used it during the tour which was dissapointing.

Interresting to visit. Sad it's only in Spanish... they try to speak slowly but we didn't understand much. Worth a visit when you're in Almeria! Price is OK

Fascinating but read up first if you aren't a Spanish speaker

Interesting to see but disappointing that after a video which has subtitles in English, and is informative and evocative, the tour is in machine-gun Spanish and even the signs which used to appear at various points through the tunnels with some information in English have now been changed and there's no English. The guide speaks at length, so there's evidently much to learn but only if you are fluent in Spanish.

Very different to you normally see as a tourist, not much English spoken though, which is a shame..up to 30,000 people hid in this 2 kilometres of underground air raid shelters, it was attached to the market, and could store foodstuffs, there was also a small hospital and a school....there is a lift / elevator, both ways ( up and down) but you will need to ask! 2019 it cost 2 euros....

A must visit, the translations could use some improving but worth the while either way.

Very limited accessibility. You need to book in advance and even if you go well before closing time it's still impossible to visit. That's not so practical for tourists
