Beautiful new space feels open & lofty yet intimate. Perfect for a date night or casual dinner with friends. Likewise, the food is elevated & beautifully presented, yet approachable. Our table of 4 tried & enjoyed a variety of appetizers, entrees, desserts, & cocktails with only a few quibbles - mainly that we found the delicious lamb neck for 2 and the turnip & ricotta tortelli were a bit salty after a few bites. That said, the mushroom ravioli was spectacular! As in, it'll be on my mind until I go back for a 2nd round (of which, this time, I won't be sharing!) I preferred the baguette that comes with the escargot over the bread service to sop up the ridiculously delicious mushroom sauce. The delicate, buttery scallop crudo is also not to be missed. Overall, it was a solid meal & worthy of a return visit soon!

Had dinner there for the first time and really enjoyed it. Wonderful service and excellent dishes. We had their pork ribs, octopus, halibut and chicken. Everything was outstanding. So unusual for such healthy dishes to be so delicious! Update: we keep coming back to this place and it never disappoints! The food is beyond excellent with incredible flavors and beautiful presentation! Thank you for yet again impressing us!

I read reviews before going and knew the food would be good, but have to say it was GREAT. We had a group of 7 and our server London was awesome and personable. Not to mention the cocktails. I had the Your Gin Cocktail and Oleo Fashioned that were both the perfect made drinks we were looking for. This is the kind of place I want to be a regular at.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Foundation Social Eatery is back, with a better location but the same amazing food and staff! FSE reopened last December and we were never able to book a table until tonight! It was like being back home! Britt, one of the bartenders she is awesome! Justin is still there! Great waiter! Mel, executive chef and owner was there to make sure everything was just perfect! We had to have the octopus as we had great memories ... had the crab special (to die for), the Lamb Shank. And for dessert!!? Tropical Posset yummi!!!! Cannot wait to go back for more!

Thrilled they have reopened. While husband and I are not permanent residents in the area, we spend a good portion of every winter in Alpharetta and FSE has become somewhat of a tradition for our annual holiday celebration with family or for when we want to have a nice dinner date. We have been eagerly waiting for the new location to come to life (ok, I will admit to stalking their social media on multiple occasions) and our Christmas Eve dinner here this year certainly didn’t disappoint. The new space is open and modern, with design finishes that still remind me of the previous restaurant. A really nice touch. The food is just as wonderful as I remembered. The fois gras and charcuterie are staples, whereas the appetizers are where they really shine. Smoked salmon belly, scallop crudo, octopus..the list goes on. Incredible preparation and unique flavors. Cocktails are top notch and every server friendly and knowledgeable. A total package.

Food was delicious! The restaurant had a fun atmosphere with lots of seating options. Would also be good for large groups as there were several spaces that could be blocked off into private eating areas. All the food was amazing. The server was able to explain everything to us in great detail and answer any questions we had. Since two people in our party were celebrating a birthday they also brought us a complimentary birthday dessert.

3/5 ⭐️ Our server was fantastic and super attentive, even bringing out a free dessert for our table in honor of the family member we were memorializing at dinner. She was super knowledgeable about the food and helpful walking us through the menu. The food is good, but for the cost of the dishes, which were pretty basic, they just didn't stand out. We were also seated outside on a pretty chilly and rainy night. Although we were told heaters would be available, they were not, and this detracted a bit from the meal/evening.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. Couldn't stop smiling with each bite. Our waitress was also amazing and made everything sound appetizing, even stuff we would normally never try.

The place is visually beautiful. Big open bar, and open kitchen concept where you can see them cookin it up! Everything and I mean everything was decadent. You can't go wrong with anything that you get, whether it's the drinks or the food. The service was great. Everyone is so nice and welcoming!

Everything was fantastic. We really enjoyed the loud but vibrant atmosphere of the new space. The chicken liver pate board was a stand out for us. Full of good flavors and anchored by a rich but smooth pate that I just wanted more of. The scallops and halibut were both perfectly prepared and delicious. Thank you to Sam for the excellent service! We can’t wait to come back!

What a wonderful experience!!! We took a chance and went to a new restaurant called Foundation for our Anniversary. We had a fantastic experience. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was excellent. The chef is very accomplished and that was evident in the menu items and our meals were amazing. They had many gluten free options and they were willing to tweak any dish to accommodate my allergy. My dish was the Halibut and this is a picture of my husbands lamd shank.....totally amazing..Highly, highly recommend and we will be going back soon.

Had a good experience here, but was hoping for a little more. Most of this review is tempered due to the price of everything, so my ratings are more value based. In general, everything was clean and the people were nice, the atmosphere was comfortable, but we got sat in a corner, even though we were one of the first to be seated in the area.... Booo! I even said we were celebrating a birthday in the reservation, and no mention of it at all. One demerit 😉 Drinks were great. They have some fun recipes and 3 cool non alcoholic spritzer style drink options too. They are all about 15% higher priced than what I would expect, but we were celebrating! Food options were diverse and all had a unique flair. We both enjoyed our selections, but the bread service is a sourdough, so worth knowing in case you don't care for that style. Also, it costs $8 (not part of meal). While we did enjoy the experience, and it felt elevated, we felt like this might be an infrequent spot for us. I feel like there are other places in the area that have a better well rounded experience for the value. That being said, I would still highly recommend giving this place a go! You will get some high quality food, and you won't be disappointed with their drink selection either! More focused on cocktails & creations than beer... only a few locals on draught.

We loved FSE when they were in Roswell and we still love them in Alpharetta ❤️ We visited in their 3rd week of service I believe and it was just as great as in Roswell. It's more expensive than I remembered but that tracks with their new location. I hope they (re) introduce a happy hour menu of some kind and/or daily/weekly specials. We had the escargot, Caesar salad, hanger steak, pork Pappardelle, and ice cream/sorbet. The hanger steak was a bit too salty and I like salt. I'd still order it again though. Other than that I thought all the dishes were amazing! Original Review from prior location: Wonderful European restaurant in Roswell. Excellent value given the high quality ingredients and dishes. They have a comprehensive Covid policy that actually does socially distance. Unfortunately, their last service in this location is Dec 31.

Yummy food and cool atmosphere. The Cuban had well balanced flavor from the pulled pork to the mysterious herbs. The panna cotta was also delicious. Not too thick and garnished with sorbet and lemon thyme meringue. The only downside was the wait. It took way to long to get food during lunchtime.

Stopped by for lunch while running an errand and got some really delicious pork short ribs and a chicken sandwich, so good! I definitely have to come here again, the presentation was amazing, I didn't want to leave, their dessert was great too! Wonderful atmosphere and great dining!

Lovely place for a good lunch. Great pre fixe menu. Great wine list! I had a shrimp BLT that had nice extra large juicy shrimp in it and my friend had the mushroom tortellini. My only complaint is that for a more upscale restaurant the staff, although nice, were inappropriately attired in my opinion and could have been just a touch more attentive. But all in all, a great dining experience.

Chef Mel's food is outstanding. The atmosphere is both beautiful and inviting. With a menu so refined it could be a bit intimidating to newcomers. However, the feel of the restaurant and the service is casual fine dining at its best. The food is nothing short of a joyful experience.

The food was excellent. The prices were higher than most restaurants in the area with similar cuisine. Why did I rate this three stars? Went there on a Thursday night with another couple and we felt rushed by the waitstaff to order and remove our dinnerware/clear the table after the appetizers and the meal. It seemed as if the staff were trained to turn over the tables as fast as possible. The personal touch was missing as all the staff seemed very robotic with the inability to connect personally with their customers. I observed this with the other two tables we were seated close to as well.

Absolutely delightful! Escargot appetizer was succulent and loved the crispy baguette to sop up the juices. My mushrooms ravioli was as good as candy. The port wine truffle sauce was outstanding. My husband's entree hanger steak was tender and very well seasoned. Definitely coming back to try other menu items.

Fantastic dine in experience on New Years Eve! We had the Mushroom Ravioli as an appetizer and it was delicious! ( order bread with it to soak up all of the deliciousness after you eat the ravioli ) you will thank me later. Chicken Bolognese was my main accompanied by an Oleo Fashioned, both were spectacular. Probably the best old fashioned I’ve had. Go here, and enjoy.

Good food, good vibe, good service. We were apparently there for the last ever brunch service, which is quite a pity as it was a great spot for brunch on the patio.

Absolutely a great dining experience. The service, the food, the "vibe" were all awesome. We got a chance to meet the chef/owner and he is pleasant and welcoming. We went during the week, so they were not incredibly busy, which was a good thing ! Two thumbs up on our experience. Oh, and you have to at least sample the orange wine.

Our servers did a great job with our party of 18. We were celebrating a 1st birthday and they were very patient with us taking a ton of pics and such. Excellent service! Food did not disappoint at all. Not a single person in our party had a negative thing to say about the food. Personally, I had the pork osso bucco and it was delicious. Super tender without losing all texture, much like a good rib. The poached pear complimented the osso bucco very well. Really enjoyed the crisp Spanish octopus for a starter and do did my 7yo to my surprise. When you can get a 7yo to have thirds on octopus you did something right!

My husband & I were thrilled upon hearing of FSE opening its newest home in Alpharetta, after a much anticipated 2 year wait! We used to frequent the previous location, including the celebration of our 1-year dating anniversary (2015) & on the night of our engagement (2017). We had a wonderful date night last night! We enjoyed conversation with the owner, Sandy. Our server, London, was wonderful & guided my husband to order the turnip and ricotta tortelli with confit duck…almost 24 hours & he can’t stop talking about it! I ordered my old faithful - the fettuccine bolognese! It was a welcomed & delicious culinary reunion after 2 years!

Service and atmosphere were good. A little on the noisy side but not terribly so. Food was ok, ordered the charcuterie and cheese to start and it was well portioned for the price but not sure if sourdough bread is the best option to accompany the plate since it almost overpowers the meats and cheeses both taste and texture wise. We also asked for butter and were charged 75 cents for a small portion. Next we ordered the ribs and mussels. They were good, probably the best things we ordered. Mussels were well cooked but the broth was a bit under seasoned or lacked depth of flavor. Ribs were very tender. Entree we split the mushroom ravioli and we ended up not finishing it. A strange after taste came as we ate it and we just couldn't eat it. Overall, it was ok. If they were closer to us, would try again but since they're quite far and had rave reviews on Eater we decided to give it a shot.
