Kept going back between 4 or 5 stars. Gave it 5 cause the food is usually spot on. Today it was fantastic and my picky twins ate all of it. Fresh, hot, and quality meat were on the menu this afternoon. Probably get it again tomorrow.

Stopped to get some tacos late at night after a concert. It was extremely busy, so we knew our wait time was going to be long. The tacos were worth the wait. They were very delicious!

Had my wife grab some taco dinners tonight . Wanted cilantro and onion. “supervisor” would not allow fixing the order because she “didn’t hear her specify” but could not provide evidence of this mishap on the phone call. Never had this issue with Mexican cuisine in chicago . Come home from a 10 hour shift to this.. and we are regulars. Very confused and disappointed and absolutely do not have the energy to drive up there and complain. I also don’t appreciate the cooks staring at her every time she visits. Dwindling customer service , will not be returning.

El Gallo is my favorite spot for late night tacos in my area. Visited around 1 am...ordered tacos. They were amazing. That story hasn't changed. Prices are reasonable and service is fast.

Ordered here as a late night dinner. It was really good! Tacos are packed with meat, gave us a ton of salsa. The side of beans w the chips was a nice touch. My husband liked his tortas. I would come here again. Not badly priced either. Paid $40 for 5 tacos, 2 tortas, beans, and a large horchata. Very good!

I have been here alot over the years and its always good food. However today the women taking orders was extremely rude. Rolling her eyes, yelling, ect. Then when the order was ready she threw the food in the bag sideways so everything leaked.

Really busy and popular place. Everything is good, fresh ingredients. A bit expensive - two tacos and a drink will cost a little over $11. Taste and quality are good.

If you're not going to answer the phone and take to go orders, then you should have a number on your menu. I literally just listen to this woman. Take 5 orders while I sat on the phone for 10 minutes. Great customer service to the ones that were in the store. But totally ignored the ones on the phone.

Yesterday I placed an order for the first time, 2 tacos 🌮 and guacamole they charged me for 2 burritos which I didn't order the lady on register tried to convince me that I ordered it. Without apologizing cause obviously She screwed the order. Instead of being nice and trying to fix the mistake She was rude and I have to ask for a manager so She can void the order. I went back to work without a lunch and had to order online and wait. I don't know if She has a language issues or She doesn't hear good but anyway it was not professional at all.

This place has gone downhill. I called ahead and placed a to go order and was told 20-25 minutes. Got there about 20 minutes after my call and was told a couple of minutes longer. 38 minutes later, still no food. Another guy waiting said it had been 40 minutes since he placed his order. I get it, you're busy. Then tell people a realistic time for them to come in and pick up instead of making them wait. When I asked about it, the bratty girl working the counter said "we have a lot of people here that have come in since you called your order in." So you don't take the orders as you receive them? Call in orders are just pushed off to the side? I asked her to tell me how much longer or give me money back and she responded "which is it, do you want your food or your money?" The guy who told me he had been waiting immediately walked up with his receipt and said "I'll take my money". When we finally got the food home, it wasn't even good. Our business will go a mile down the road to Jalisco from now on.

Food is good but there is just way too much fat on the steak meat. Every bite of my burrito I have to spit a huge piece of rubber fat put. Would be nice if they cut all of that off before they cook it.

One of my usual favorite tacos but as I stopped here after work tonight’s…. their attitudes were absolutely trash. Just very rude and unprofessional with their customer service and mannerisms. Acted as if they didn’t want to take my order, threw my card back on the counter instead of handing it to me. I wasn’t rude to them so not sure as to why the good energy wasn’t reciprocated Just very ugly and nasty, definitely won’t be returning! I

The food quality has went down, wish I can give them -0 stars. My food wasn’t good, and they have nasty attitudes. The meat was really dry and tasted like it had been sitting there for days. The cooks are packed in a small area, and repeatedly touch their hair and remove their hats off their heads over and over and then touches ur food. They seem to used the same towel to wipe the counter off that they use to wipe sweat off their foreheads. I saw one cook wipe his head with his hands then turns around and touch the tortilla without cleaning hands. You will never see them wash their hands. Be careful u may get food poison, I won’t return ever.

I’m starting to think people just eat anything! I ordered the 3 steak taco dinner & steak tostada. The food had a nasty after taste that puts you in the mind of a dirty dish rag. I don’t know if it was the refried beans or steak meat! I couldn’t eat it and threw up the bites I tried to force down! Don’t waste your money and don’t believe these reviews! They must’ve been bought!

I ordered take out there a few times while I was working on a house a mile away. Any way the food is great , i highly recommend the sopes de asada , avocado is a must. Tacos del pastor are great 👍 and the hot sauce is on point

Never disappoints! Great food! Anything you get here yoy will not be disappointed! Staff is always awesome! I love my 3 favorite ladies Lorena, Gloria, and Cassandra!! They're truly a blessing, & have the patience of Saints for dealing with a bunch of drunks all the time. Lol

Been coming here for years now and this place is our go-to for good Mexican take out. The food is always solid in my opinion. Sometimes the wait can be a bit long but that's just because it's a popular spot on the weekends. During the week you can get in and out pretty quick usually. The staff is friendly but also down to business because theyre trying to get you your food quick. Overall it's just a solid spot and any negative reviews are probably just one offs. Now if you want a nicer place to sitdown and eat yeah this probably isn't the spot but for solid take out I can't recommend anywhere else if you're in the area.

Absolutely delicious and a good price. I ordered a chicken burrito and it was the best one I've ever had in my life by far! 5/5 This will be my new go to Mexican restaurant.

This is my go-to taco joint. I’m a steak taco with cilantro and onions person, and theirs are exceptional. The meat is generous and perfectly cooked, with the perfect amount of toppings. I’ve even branches out to other items on occasion and have never been disappointed. The burritos are huge and delicious. Their salsa is the best! However, as good as the food is, it’s the staff that is the best thing about this restaurant. They are simply great, friendly people who excel at their job. As a regular, we are greeted like family. We never wait long and always leave full.

Excellent selection of appetizers. My husband ordered 2 different appetizers, and the portions were so large, that I took my entire dinner to go. All the food was very good.

We went there upon the recommendation of our friends. The steak tacos are very good but the El pastor tacos steal the show as they are amazing. Also I should note that the meat portions are huge on each taco. We will be back when we are back in town.

A great place to grab a bite. They also deliver. Food is always good. The people and portions nice. Used to visit all the time after work at night shift hours.

They got my order completely wrong. I didnt notice the error until I was already at home. They were usually ok but this time, I wasnt satisfied with my order. May or may not spend my money with them again in the future.

Quick fast service. The food was a little salty but good. Gonna try different dishes next time. I had the taco dinner. tacos needed a little more seasoning ..... in my opinion. Overall this was good.

Tacos r always good. Fast service. I did notice while l was waiting 4 my order, the person that was preparing the salsa cups was busting tables. He never put any gloves on. He went from one task to the other. Just put gloves on between task.

They always have great tacos. Just have to pay extra for cheese. Plus they add a little fee for using credit card. So when you spend over $30.00 for tacos (10) you hate when they are just ok.

I recall visiting this location years ago. I'm not sure when, but it was definitely before COVID. I was really famished and did not have much time, and I also did not want to look for another restaurant to eat at after I saw this one. If I remember correctly, I really liked their tacos back then, even though I only visited once. The place was clean and well-lit, and it was not full. In fact, there were only a few people eating inside. The staff are nice too, and they are also friendly. I just ordered some tacos. Service is quite slow considering that the whole place is not that busy. The tacos have a nice portion and I expected that they would be really good, but unfortunately, they weren’t and it was literally the opposite. I do not know why, but I did not really like it that much. I mean, it is not bad, and it is not really good either. Somehow it lacks the flavor, or maybe the seasonings, because it really did not taste great. It is hot, and it also seems fresh, but the flavors are really lacking.

Food was ok. Prices seemed over the top. 2 burritos 3 tacos 1 large fountain drink 2 cans pop 43 dollars plus took 20 min for our carryout wasn't that busy

Best food ever been going here for well over 20 years. Highly recommend it the staff is super nice everybody there is just so welcoming and warm and the food is just amazing.

The food is just okay. They need to add better seasoning. The lemonade is pure sugar no lemon flavor whatsoever! I hardly go there now because the food flavor is not like it used to be anymore.

I've been getting late night burritos and dinners from this place for over 20 years. Just had it again for the first time in a couple years the food is still great and it's been pretty much the same staff I think for 20 years which is really saying something.

The price was decent but you get what you pay for. This is not the place for menudo. It was not cleaned right. This is a meat that has to be cleaned meticulously and the fatty back layer has to be scraped and cut and removed. It’s a labor intensive prep but makes all the difference. It had such a strong aftertaste I couldn’t eat it. It was also cut in bigger chunks which is wrong. I don’t know about their other food lately they used to be good years back for tacos but from this experience I can’t imagine.

The best Mexican food around and the nicest people work here. We have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed once. Love the food and workers!

Place is fraud at best they literally haven’t changed online menu prices so you think you preferring food for way cheaper and it’s not. It over double the cost. ASK EVERYTIME FOR THEM TO GIVE PRICE OVER PHONE. They won’t do any refunds and don’t stand by the prices THEY HAVE ONLINE. I have already contacted bbb. Good luck

First of all idk how y’all walked in there n it smells like dog and mop water. This place has a weird smell! I should’ve turned around but I saw the reviews and persisted. Chile it was nasty. Everything was giving lack luster, and old. The chips were basic the steak was giving dog food w a hint of seasoning. I just know it’s not real steak! The chicken tacos were ok but I put salsa on it n the salsa was not good. I didn’t even like the beans and rice. This place isn’t fresh AT ALL! My food came out in 2 minutes after I ordered! I’m not even exaggerating, 2 minutes! It’s just a big no for me. Bland, old, just not good at all. Save your coins these reviews are TRASH. Even the sour cream was off like ugh.
