We loved our experience at Sami Siida with Jack and Espen! So much detail and thought goes into the reindeer sledding. The experience is much more intimate than you’ll find at some of the larger places in Norway. They made a cozy bonfire for us after the sled ride which allowed some more time for us to learn about the Sami culture and pet the reindeer. They made the most delicious cooked reindeer over fire that was the best we had during our three weeks in Norway! Loved the intimate and personal connection Sami Siida gives their guests! Be sure to stop in the museum too! They have so many different traditional Sami outfits and pieces that tell an interesting story. Save room for dinner too, because their onsite restaurant is fantastic! It’s open Sunday too! The reindeer meatballs and reindeer schnitzel were both delicious.

I recommend you to go to Sami Siida! it is a place with a unique experience, tastes of the distant past and you will be fascinated by the wonderful view together with the very kind and welcoming staff. We arrived at 13:00. The restaurant opens at 3:00 p.m., until the restaurant opened, we went with the guide and fed the reindeer, visited the lur museum and told us in detail about the customs and traditions, later he made a small fire in the hut where I told again about the current life and the traditions of the place and about many things. Everything was a very pleasant experience. We will come back. Thank you Sami Siida!

My 8 y.o and I had a wonderful tour with Jack. We were educated about Sami culture and traditions and shown all kinds of things! Jack tailored the tour to captivate my sons attention, which was awesome. Even got to feed reindeer! And practice lassoing pretend reindeer (get the camera out because you'll laugh your head off watching Jack lasso your kids 😂) It was a fantastic experience, thanks Jack!

When your in Alta, visiting the Sami Siida is a must! They provide you with an experience into their culture and discussions of their traditions. We had a great time being pulled on the sleigh by the reindeer, discussing traditions and reindeer migration with Perjeira, and sipping coffee by a fire. This was a one of kind experience and truly recommend it for all!

Grete was a fantastic host, they even let us have a chat to the reindeer after they were done for the day and before we ate some 😁 we ordered the smoked reindeer and the Finnebiff (shaved reindeer in a creamy sauce)! Both were fantastic, but the smoked reindeer was soooo good! Thanks guys!! We will definitely recommend and be back!

We had a great dinner at the laavu. The food was fantastic (you have to try one of the desserts, ours was the best dessert we have ever had!) and we had a very nice chat with the operators. The atmosphere was just amazing and we would recommend everyone to stop here!

Great place to see some Sami Culture, we even got to cuddle some reindeer! The restaurant is modern and comfortable with a big fire place and window to see the reindeer outside. The food was something special, we decided to try reindeer meat and were totally surprised how good it tasted! Try the shaved reindeer in creamy sauce or the smoked reindeer, an absolute winner if you enjoy smoked flavours! We also tried a nice dark local beer. The owners are very friendly and hospitable. Very much recommend coming here!

We had such a fantastic experience - delicious food and then a magical reindeer sleigh ride in the gathering dark. Just so beautiful, and so much fun. Highly recommend!

Visited on a tour. Didn't sample any food and we weren't allowed in the new restaurant. I was expecting to go out through the woods on a sleigh or at least a proper sleigh ride for 20mins to half an hour but no. We went round an enclosed circuit for 10 minutes. Very disappointed and very expensive for what it was. No souvenirs to buy either. The Sami people were very friendly with lots of stories to tell and songs to sing.

Great place to visit to learn about the indigenous peoples and their way of life ..Jak .was an insightful helpful guide who lives the sami way of life and speaks first hand about his love for his culture...

My wife chose the Bidus. She said the portion was small, not very tasty and resembled beef soup. I had the stezan meal, which was ok, but again a small portion. Definitely, not a place for the hungry. We both ate dessert, which would have been given a 5 star if it included a tea/coffee. Conclusion: a typical "rip off the tourist" experience.
