I won't go back.

Took my son out for a birthday dinner today. Steak were all over cooked, over seasoned and hard to cut. My boyfriend choked on his mashed potatoes cause they had a price tag or a date of expiration tag in them. He spit it out and warned the server. He didn't want to make a big deal out of it and ruin our celebration. Manager offered replacement mashed potatoes. Which he declined. She did take $5 off the meal so that "we didn't pay for the potatoes". At this point we were all kinda grossed out and took our meat home to the dogs. Our server was very nice and laid back. We have had a few mixed reviews over the years here. After this visit my gut will not allow me to return.

Just moved to the area, & been here about 5 times. Staff just isn’t friendly, dealt with 3-4 bartenders, & food quality is mediocre. The folks are nice but ambience of restaurant is poor.

Used to be one of the quickest pick ups, now it's an average of 15 min past pickup time. The staff is still very kind, but orders are significantly less accurate. This is a good merchant for easy pick ups if you have the patience.

Love this place. Always get the appetizer platter. Love the grilled chicken. The steak and shrimp parmesan is to die for. Amazing drinks and staff. I miss my bartenders! Wish we could do indoor seating. Miss you guys!

Food was good, it took really long to get the food although the place was not busy at all!

The experience was delightful. The server was attentive but not annoying. Also the food was amazing!

We hadn't been to Applebee's in a while because the last time we were there we were really disappointed in the food not this time The food was delicious the black and salmon was chef's kiss the waitress and for the love of God I cannot remember her name but she was so nice I think it was Ashley I'm not sure but I know she had a 2-year-old and it was going to be his birthday so I do remember that but the food was really good it was hot it was fresh service was excellent restaurant was clean I mean it's the fanciest restaurant in Alton so I don't know what else to tell you. And when I say the fanciest in Alton I mean it's fancy for the price are there other restaurants that are more expensive Yes do I feel like going to get a prom dress to go there no.

They sat us by the door at 10°f outside even tho they had other tables available. Brrrrr! Waitress was friendly enough, food was out fast, appetizers were great. Drinks were good. Coffee was old, had been sitting.maybe from morning?. I ordered my steak medium well and it came out still moo-ing. I was so hungry I tore into it, the outside was properly cooked, 3 bites into an 8 0z. but the inside was raw! I asked the waitress to put it back on the grill and she brought it back overcooked and hard. After everyone else had finished there meal. I didn't even eat it!! I left with a tummy ache 2 trips to the ladies room before I left and another trip at home. Ticket was 130$ for 3 meals. My dinner company was GREAT so made it worth it . Everyone else's food was good, no complaints from them. Atmosphere is what wins the day. Unless they sit you by the door when it's freezing out UPDATE: My dinner guest also complained of a tummy ache when we spoke the next day. Get it together! Clean your grill. Change your fryer oil. Cook a steak properly or take it off the menu and clean the restrooms. Nobody wants to pay that much for dinner and go home ill. :/ with sub par service

Should of known better to not go at 834pm. Took 20 min for a water. I was NOT happy, I watched people get drinks after us. Made my soul unhappy.. never again

Not what it used to be. The waiter was pretty nice.. very thoughtful with the food. The food was not fresh, luke warm really. Chips were old/stale. Hostess was not a friendly face, I'm sorry if you don't like your job. The waiter did a pretty good job.

Portions were marginal and chicken straps---3 small ones on a pasta entree...and looked like frozen from a package. Steak and Shrimp Combo was very good according to dinner companion.

My birthday meal was a bad idea both our steaks over cooked and tough , I got Mac and cheese also which was good I never got told it was a upcharge and three dollars up charge is a little much by. Won’t go there for steaks again.

Fries that came with the burger were all about 1.5 inches long and stale. Clearly the end of the previous batch. Just throw those away next time! The tortilla chips were undercooked so a lot of them were super chewy. The server was good and the host got us seated quickly.

It's been a while since I have been here and I actually was surprised how good it was. The place was fairly busy but the wait wasn't long. The food came out hot and delicious. The place was very clean also. I won't wait so long to come back.

Our waitress was great. Service was prompt, and we were kept with fresh drinks all evening. The pretzel appetizers were hot and fresh. I had the 5 wings for $1, and they were yummy. Both my wife and I raved over the fries, and their tasty seasoning. It was a fine evening, and we look forward to eating at Applebee's again, soon.

It's edible but not up to par with other Applebee's style restaurants Ive been to. The taste is mediocre the meat/ribs dry and rubbery. Staff is hit or miss. Drinks are generally good. It will do in a pinch.

I wanted to go for the all you can eat wings and fries, but at this particular restaurant it was only all you can eat wings not fries. I was very excited at first but the wings weren't that good. When we first got there they just stared at us then told us we had to wait 15 minutes they would call us for a table, even though it was very empty and inside about maybe five sets of people at the tables .The staff was friendly that's all I can say about that.

We dined at those location on a Friday night. The portion size was appropriate. My hamburger 🍔 was cooked 2 my request unfortunately my fries were served luke warm and the hamburger 🍔 was just under hot..... we had a good waitress, Tristan. There was a girl busy all the while cleaning tables, booths and the floor, that was nice 2 see..... I really don't understand why my food wasn't HOT.... Thanx

Taejah was phenomenal! Very personable & efficient. The food was good. The only downside side was our Perfect Margaritas were clearly made with pineapple juice instead of sour mix. But would still recommend a visit here

Never a bad experience here. Food excellent, great service. Getting up there in price but for every once in awhile worth it.

I came here for my birthday and it was great. The service was good. Our waiter came to check on us often. Also, my food was really good. I will come back here again.

Just went here on 3/19 and when I say that their food was garbage, over half of it was wasted and thrown in the trash at the end of our visit. Two steaks one Medium rare and the other medium and both came out well done. The Tex mex bowl tasted like it had a bunch of seasoning dumped into it. The sampler platter was less than to be desired, and when your autistic son refuses to eat the kids pizza because it looked like a frozen one heated in the microwave…then that says something. The wings my nephew ordered looked like it had been a frozen dinner. A mudslide and a strawberry daiquiri were ordered and if there were any alcohol in it they must have used a teaspoon because you couldn’t taste it. The mudslide was at best a gourmet over priced milk shake and the strawberry daiquiri was a slushy. Disappointed all the way around. The best part of the meal was the cake I brought celebrating my mother’s 59th birthday (4th in Heaven). The waiter, Xavier, was awesome and very attentive, but everything else was garbage: manager did take $20 off the bill…but paid $125 for garbage and none of it really touched. My family and I will not be back. This Applebees has gone downhill. Ridiculous. The fact that the manager made no real effort in correcting the issue spoke volumes for me. I wasn’t looking for a free meal because I can pay ten times over and over, I was looking for a great family meal and a couple of light drinks and what we got was garbage and paid for high end. Never again. Don’t waste your time or money.

Havent visited this location in almost 10 years because of the bad service i use to get here. Figured it had been years and maybe it had changed. Nope!! Waitress was pushy and not polite. She wouldn't refill anyone's drinks unless she was told to. Even after seeing the empty glasses on multiple occasions. Food quality was subpar. I can definitely see after 10 years this place still hasn't changed. Ordered the spinach dip for an appetizer and recieved nothing but the bottom of a bag smashed chips. Asked for different chips since these were crushed and couldn't use them to dip the spinach dip. Waitress brought us another plate of broken chips without dip and charged us for the extra plate of broken and smashed chips. I have to say it'll be a minimum of atleast 10 years before I'd come back again. Complete let down once again from this specific location !

My family of 4 all had great meals, food came fast, and service from Samantha was excellent. I had the baby back ribs are they are what they advertise, so good. I recommend them.

To go order. My steak was well done when ordered mid rare, very salty, and a lot of connective tissue. Flavor was decent though. The double crunch shrimp were on point and the fry cook tossed me 13 instead of 12 so that got an extra star. Steak was not worth going back for.

Food was good, service was good. Steak was a little over cooked from what I ordered, but it was still okay. Please get Dr. Pepper.

I ordered the shrimp and pasta Alfredo and had it delivered. The delivery was fast but the food was very bland and didn't have much taste. The noodles were sticky and had very little Alfredo sauce. I was very disappointed. I won't order this again.

I love Applebee's. Their won ton tacos are my favorites. Pair with their French 9nion soup and you have a delicious lunch. Erica was our server and she did an excellent job. We had a very nice relaxing friends lunch. Oh, and their brussel sprouts are fabulous!!!

Received a table quickly. Server had great suggestions on menu items. Appetizer received quickly, drinks & chicken & shrimp was cooked perfect. Very tender and tasty.

I came in with 2 older ladies today for lunch, one who was in a wheelchair. Did get seated right away but could have been seated in a different area to accommodate the wheelchair better. Everything else was fine

It's exactly what I expect an Applebee's to be. The staff is friendly and they try to donate good job. The food is pretty good and the atmosphere is pleasant. If they only had a real bartender ...

The Burger & $1.00 boneless wings deal was great!! The food was delicious!! Thank You to the Cook at Alton, IL Applebee's!! Our waitress Torre, was great too!! The only downside was the 12 oz bottle of Miller Lite beer was super expensive, at $4.50 each. Unfortunately , my husband and I were there too early for any happy hour drink specials.

We were seated immediately on a rainy Friday night. We had a super waiter named Josh. He was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Tex Mex Shrimp Bowl. It was good, very filling but is a little on the spicy side. My friend ordered an appetizer as her dinner. It wasn’t as filling as she expected it to be. I hadn’t been to Applebees in several years. This was a good experience that would encourage me to visit more often.

It was a typical Applebee's experience. We all ordered something that we knew we liked. The server was fantastic. We were a party of 7. She was amazing. Food was typical. Good meal for the price.

Food was greasy and salty but the waitress was very nice and the food did come out in a decent time frame. I would go again just to see if the food was better at a different time. I went in the evening on a weekday. The restaurant is easy to find it was clean and the staff was nice.

Please, for the love of toilet paper, ask your cooks to leave the salmon on the grill longer than 1/10th of a second. It's dim in there and I'm not that young anymore, so it's pretty dang hard to tell if it's raw until I've started chewing it. I've ordered salmon here a couple dozen times in the last decade and it was only cooked through on the first try ONCE. I keep coming a couple times a year because my husband likes it. Can I please not get food poisoning next time? Please? Thank you. I know, more fool me for not ripping into the middle of the salmon first thing and shining my phone flashlight on it, but honestly a person shouldn't have to do that. Normally, I do, but we were talking and I forgot. Now I'm going to be paying for it all night.

Was greeted promptly, waited on, food was tasty. My only complaint was the waitress didn't write down the order, she forgot our alcohol/bar order. We reminded her and received it later.

Arrived at 10, had a mixed appetizer order and by the time it came and was finished it was 10:50 and time to get out so they could close , it was not at all busy. Waitress (dark skin, very long hair) wasn't very friendly or attentive, didnt make the typical comments a waitress is expected to. (Need anything, food will be out soon, common manners, etc) May be because I arrived only an hour before closing, or was dirty from work and asked about half oft appetizers so she didnt expect a bit tip, may be because she was having a bad day and was ready to go home. Regardless I believe she deserves a 2nd chance but not from me Food was good, which is what I expect from Applebee's and more often than not it is so nothing negative to say about it other than a long wait to get it. Also, no half off appetizers and you can't get a 2 for with steak for under $35 which to me is crazy.

Sorry but my steak was well done, I'm sayin dry enough I thought I ordered beef jerky, when I asked for medium well, so should have been warm pink center, potatoes were cold, Caesar salad was good though

Went to Applebee’s for 1/2 price appetizers. We order they bring them out we finish and to find out there are ONLY 3 appetizers that are 1/2 price. Waitress never told us any of this. Manager comes over. I try to tell him he might need to tell I the waitress to inform people that not all appetizers. He told me it was MY responsibility to ask server what appetizers are 1/2 price. I go so if people come here and order 4 appetizers you don’t think you should inform them? He goes nope not my problem what you spend your money on. He brings back check and told me you just need to pay for your drinks. I go no I want to pay for everything. His response was you don’t get that option.

I meet with friends this nice place a lot! This is the best place to have a bite. I go to this spot at least once a month. The cooking is excellent, the staff members are helpful and the prices are good. I enjoy going in this place over a good meal.

Service was ok, but it says online they are full menu and dine in. They have a very limited menu still, and their "dine in", is picnic tables outside in the hot sun. Food was ok, but only half the menu to choose from and gnats kept getting in our food. Was very disappointed when we specifically looked online to see what restaurants were dine in, and showed up to have to eat outside in the heat. They need to change their info online so people don't go out of their way!

We showed up around 7:50 the told us or would Be few minutes while the sanitize. 10 min later they came out and told use that the outside area was closed at 8pm. We we're there in plenty of time .They closed at 9pm. Very disappointed in they way they handled that.

Awesome steak dishes and great dine in atmosphere, if that's ever going to be a thing in the future.

Had salmon, broccoli, and mashed potatoes paired with Applebees delicious Perfect Margaritas 💯 Food was perfect. I requested the broccoli to be steamed soft and it was on point. Great meal.
