What a great gem at the end of the runway at Manchester airport. Worth the visit at anytime. Totally unexpected and delighted by this place. Staff was working hard that Sunday, tip them well!

Really good food. Great variety of dishes to choose from. The drinks selection was good but the bar was only capable of making the cocktails on the menu, whether that was the policy or lack of skill by the bar I do not know, but it was a bit disappointing. Other than that the meal and service were great. The staff came back frequently to take our order and check up on us. The food came pretty quickly for what it was. The meat pies were great. Desserts were good too. I had Sticky Toffee Pudding which I was told I had to have in England. It was ok, but probably not due to the restaurant, it turns out I might not like Sticky Toffee Pudding. I do recommend Romper for good food.

We visited The Romper Saturday tea time and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, very well presented and perfectly cooked, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxing. The reason for the 4 stars not 5, was the staff forgetting our desserts and then having to wait even longer before one of the two we ordered came we had to gain the attention of another staff member to ask about the second dessert which she chased up. I believe this could have been avoided if a single check back was done but not once were we asked if our food was ok or if we would like anything with our food etc. Maybe this was a one off.. we will definitely be back again soon.

Fantastic experience. Lovely food, lovely decor. Staff are so friendly, they made my dog and I very welcome. Addition of amenities such as hair spray, face wash and hand cream in the ladies toilet was a really nice touch.

For all these years, we've been packing ourselves up with food to go to airport hotels the night before our flight at Manchester Airport. Until we discovered this pub!! It's a short walk from both of the Premier Inns, and the Holiday Inn. Took us around 7 mins to find. The pub is lovely and clean, the staff are friendly - very friendly. I was impressed with the ladies toilets having hairspray, face wash, deodorant and handcream. I didn't need to use it, but it's a lovely touch to make you feel welcomed. We shared a starter, salt and pepper squid, which was lovely. The main, however, not as good. We had the Seabass Risotto and the Seafood Grill. My risotto was more like... rice. Quite bland, not creamy or luxurious. The seabass skin wasn't crispy and the flesh was a little overdone. My hubby says his was 'satisfactory'. Now, all that being said, it hasn't put us off. We'd definitely come again but just try something different, steak maybe. The welcome was enough to keep us happy. For desert, he had Mocha Torte (delicious, rich, not overly sweet) and I had Black Cherry Creme Brulee. Not something I'd normally order, but really enjoyed it. They take Tesco vouchers too, BTW, so all in all, it was a lovely night with great service. Would definitely recommend. :)

Lovely Christmas lunch. Had a great meal, great service and lovely and cosy day near the fire. Took my friends dog and she was really relaxed, and met some new friends. Really recommend the Christmas menu and the food coming out looked fab too.

Previously had great food here but was average at best today Mother's day so most of us (9) had a Sunday dinner ...I had a trio of meats Roast potatoes weren't crisp, veg was OK Yorkshire puddings were good though πŸ‘Œ Beef was chewy ...pork was fatty Turkey was nice But the worst thing was what they said was cracking....it was like a piece of leather and totally inedible They must have cut it with a chainsaw in the kitchen They must have known..why put it on our plates ? 🀷 Need to sort the carpets out too

I came with my Mrs and 2 friends from York as we were having a night away. Booked in here for Lunch and can honestly say as an Ex Chef myself, The Mixed Grill was out of this world, The best I've had by a mile. My Steak was cooked to perfection. The staff were very professional so we will be back... SPOT ON!!!!!

Excellent experience, lovely lunch, service exemplary, setting quirky and country cottage, staff all very friendly and down to earth, couldn't ask for more really. Myself and family members ordered from the main menu and the lunchtime menu. Starter Creamy Garlic Mushrooms on a sour dough crumpet with cheese and mustard straws, Β£5.69 was delicious and fresh, Hand Battered Atlantic Cod triple cooked Chips, Peas & Tartar sauce from the main menu, Β£11.95 served piping hot, fish white and fluffy, no complaints whatsoever. Also ordered similar Fish & Chips from the lunch menu just as good upgraded to Sweet potato fries Β£7.29 just as impressive, you can see the differences in the photos. Cajun battered Chicken breast burger Β£13.49 inc onion rings, salad, skin on fries very tasty. Sweets, Mini pudding and hot drink, Eaton Mess Sundae, Salted Caramel sundae & Chocolate Fudge Cake all around Β£5.50ish excellent, not to mention the pots of tea with a delicious cookie on the side, lovely idea. It's the extra little things, that make a place stand out from the rest. Toilets the best I have been in for a long time, with an amazing array of items for use, quite unique ! 10/10 to the Managers for going the extra mile in making sure everything you could want was there. Decor is relaxing inside and out, soft rustic colour's, with separate little areas, with fireplaces that in the winter months would be very inviting. Eaten here sometime ago, so glad I made a return trip, will definitely be returning and recommending.

The location of this pub is really good. Food - not sure, since I only had Onion rings, chips and mulled wine. Service - there was a bit of a delay but I can't really complain since it was a busy day. So delays were expected. Ambience is good.

Staff are friendly, help with food and wine choices, scallops and sea bass was beautiful, steak was cooked to perfection, the only thing that let it down was the lasagna it was over cooked, the pasta sheets were rubbery and the sauce was sticky,

Despite being around the corner from the airport, Romper is above and beyond what you'd expect from "airport-ish" food. Everything we had, down to my cappuccino with a complementary chocolate chip cookie, was absolutely delicious. We ordered the squash/red pepper soup, steak and ale pie, fish and chips, and sticky toffee pudding (stupidly good). Food presentation, great music, cute patio, and exceptional customer service from a very attentive manager made this visit memorable and we'd be happy to recommend it to anyone.

Absolutley georgous food i had salt and pepper squid steak and ale pie and bakewell tart. Hubby had the terrine, slow cooked vennison and sticky toffee cheesecake off the special menu. Food was georgous as always, staff are great very attentive and polite and friendly. We came on a tue tea time and was really busy so best to book beforehand.

Great service by the staff and very friendly and welcoming. Definitely has a country pub feel and backs on the airport which is a bonus if tour a plane spotter with the viewing park 2 minute drive away from the pub Every where clean and tidy and again social distancing managed well both inside and out Food was amazing and very tasty food range of specials and main menu meals to chose from and puddings were delicious i had the sticky toffee pudding would recommend

Great pub located near Manchester airport and just a short walk to the viewing park. Great selection of drinks behind the bar and the food is really good too. The staff are always super friendly. The outside has a great sitting area and it’s a perfect little sun trap in the summerβ˜€οΈ

Nice pub for a quick bite and a pint. Staff were pretty friendly, and kitchen stayed open a bit late to take our orders (greatly appreciated). Food was good and came out quickly - could do with a bit more seasoning. Surprising how dead this area is, so nice to have this as an option.

It would be easy given its location for Romper to be very low effort. Packing in short stays and transfers from the airport. Thankfully that's not the case. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The price too, again accounting for location and the ever present temptation to gouge, was pretty reasonable. It's a lovely building too.

Great food and service. Had the January special: a venison and root veg meat pie with chips and broccolini. Everything was perfectly cooked, and the waitresses (Sue was my waitress and she was very kind) were wonderful. Despite being so close to the airport, this was a fantastic little spot that I would love to revisit. I stayed nearby at the Premier Inn and it was just a 10 minute walk, which was very convenient! Sadly I didn't have space for any desserts, but I hope to try them next time.

We were recommended by our airport hotel, for an evening meal. Despite being fully booked the very accommodating manager found us a table. Very glad he did as the food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Lovely country pub with a great atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

Went to celebrate my sister's birthday. Good selection of food and drink. We booked and as covid restrictions lift suggest that booking ensure you are not disappointed. Would recommend this place. Staff were polite and pleasant and the service was good. Toilets were clean well the ladies were. Lovely roaring fire in one room so made it feel homely. Well worth a visit.

We needed somewhere dog friendly on using Mr Google The Romper fitted the bill. First impressions was it looked a comfortable pub. Ordered our food from an exceptionally nice waitress .The food arrived very good presentation - we had both chosen the flat bread option - the flat bread was too hard to chew but the topping was good . Our choice of sweet was the taster offered with a hot drink. Being diabetic it was just perfect a small enough but enjoyable treat . I wish other hotel chains did this offer. Would I return yes but miss out on the flat bread

πŸ‘πŸ‘ I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
