My
friend
and
I
spent
the
Columbus
Day
weekend
in
Heidelberg.
We
opted
to
take
a
walking
tour
of
Heidelberg
with
Henry.
The
tour
included
five
wine
tastings.
Originally,
we
were
going
to
do
the
visit
to
the
winery;
however,
we
had
to
sculpt
a
new
version
of
the
tour
since
the
winery
was
hosting
a
festival.
As
there
were
only
two
of
us,
Henry
took
great
care
of
us
with
a
private
and
informative
tour.
He
took
us
to
back
streets
with
unque
views
of
the
castle
and
into
an
Asian
garden,
which
was
lovely.
He
provided
some
great
history
of
this
amazing
city.
As
for
the
wine
tasting,
we
took
the
first
two
in
the
Karlplatz,
where
there
was
a
mini
wine
festival
going
on.
Here,
we
were
joined
by
an
adorable
Spanish
child,
who
simply
sat
down
at
our
table.
Her
mother
joined
us
too
so
we
stopped
the
tour,
enjoyed
two
glasses
of
dry
white
wine,
one
from
the
Weingut
Clauer,
practiced
our
Spanish,
and
adapted.
Later,
Henry
took
us
to
Schnookeloch,
where
we
enjoyed
our
last
three
tastings.
This
is
the
oldest
student
bar
in
Heidelberg.
Here,
we
had
the
one
Portuguese
rosé
and
two
of
the
reds
(the
Dornfelder
and
the
Spätburgunder)
they
offered.
We
also
explored
this
historic
bar,
restaurant,
and
hotel.
Lots
of
history
here...if
only
these
walls
could
talk.
I
Ioved
the
hats
of
the
fraternities,
the
woodwork
in
the
lights,
and
an
old
poem
about
the
Bruckenaffe.
While
we
didn't
eat
anything,
the
wine
and
service
were
great.
Henry
also
gave
us
recommendations
on
other
things
to
do
and
places
to
eat.
We
immediately
took
his
advice
and
ordered
some
onion
cake
and
new
wine
at
the
Café
Grundel.
I
definitely
will
use
his
tour
when
I
return
here
with
my
wife.
