We've spent a great time walking with Henry around the city. He shared a lot of information about the history and architecture of Heidelberg and he also gave us a lot of recommendations so that we could enjoy the rest of our stay. Thanks Henry!!!!!

I am so glad I did Henry’s tour on my first day in Heidelberg. He gave a wonderful explanation of all the must see places and provided a bunch of recommendations for places to drink and eat. If you’re on the fence on doing this tour- do it! He’s the best

I Booked the Hessen Tour, at the end of June 2023. Henry was a no show. I called him and he said that he tried to leave a message at the hotel, but they had no such message. He indicated that he wasn’t feeling well and needed to cancel. I felt he could have made an extra effort to reach me, since he had my email. We were disappointed, but thankfully we did receive a refund. We decided to book different tour with “Bike Romance” in Heidelberg. The bike tour (with Felix) was great - I highly recommend it.

We had booked a 3-hour tour for Dec 8. The meeting point for the tour was the Hercules fountain at the main Marktplatz which was great as it was right across our hotel. We had a British tour guide named Henry Cottam who has been living in Germany for more than a decade. So communication was smooth. The tour began at 9am. Henry showed us around the most prominent landmarks & important historical places of interest, various market squares, Church of the Holy Spirit, history pf our hotel- Zum Ritter St. Georg. We had a pleasant morning walk exploring the shopping areas after which we headed back to the Neccar River. We got to know of some interesting trivia about the arched old bridge (aka the Karl Theodor Bridge), and also went to the main library & museum which housed the world's first bicycle prototype on display. Henry even recommended a hike up the Philosopher's Way on our personal time & we are so thankful to him for suggesting that because we went up there later in the afternoon & were able to enjoy a bird's eye view of the entire town! The tour concluded with a funicular ride up to the grand Heidelberg Castle. We walked around the grounds & gardens & saw some weird German art. Henry was kind enough to take some pictures of us. He also kept us entertained with interesting stories about the Heidelberg Tun (the great wine barrel) As the time of the tour drew to a close, we decided to taste some Gluh wine (hot mulled wine) at the café located on the castle premises as the the perfect way to say goodbye to Henry. We loved everything about the extensive 3 hour tour & found our tour guide to be extremely knowledgable about a place which is not even his homeland & so that was indeed very impressive. We would definitely recommend this tour to other tourists.

We had a lovely time with Henry in Heidelberg. Fun facts, a nice walk along the longest pedestrian road in Europe, a ride up the funicular to the 500 year old castle, topped off with some excellent wine at a great brewery in old town. Good times!

Had Henry for the Heidelberg old town tour as well as the tour of the castle. He was fun, personable and knowledgeable throughout the tour. Left with good laughs, a smile and felt educated

We had a wonderful time on our walking tour. Henry was incredibly knowledgeable of the area and shared interesting stories. The weather was unpredictable and our transportation was undefined for our scheduled day in Heidelberg and he was accommodating and flexible for our group of 4. Communication was great with Whatsapp.

My friend and I spent the Columbus Day weekend in Heidelberg. We opted to take a walking tour of Heidelberg with Henry. The tour included five wine tastings. Originally, we were going to do the visit to the winery; however, we had to sculpt a new version of the tour since the winery was hosting a festival. As there were only two of us, Henry took great care of us with a private and informative tour. He took us to back streets with unque views of the castle and into an Asian garden, which was lovely. He provided some great history of this amazing city. As for the wine tasting, we took the first two in the Karlplatz, where there was a mini wine festival going on. Here, we were joined by an adorable Spanish child, who simply sat down at our table. Her mother joined us too so we stopped the tour, enjoyed two glasses of dry white wine, one from the Weingut Clauer, practiced our Spanish, and adapted. Later, Henry took us to Schnookeloch, where we enjoyed our last three tastings. This is the oldest student bar in Heidelberg. Here, we had the one Portuguese rosé and two of the reds (the Dornfelder and the Spätburgunder) they offered. We also explored this historic bar, restaurant, and hotel. Lots of history here...if only these walls could talk. I Ioved the hats of the fraternities, the woodwork in the lights, and an old poem about the Bruckenaffe. While we didn't eat anything, the wine and service were great. Henry also gave us recommendations on other things to do and places to eat. We immediately took his advice and ordered some onion cake and new wine at the Café Grundel. I definitely will use his tour when I return here with my wife.
