I was left speechless when i walked into this bookstore. The shop is huge! As i wonder through it, i realised that building used to be an old movie theatre. There are so many different books to chose from, lots of options in foreign languages. Its a must visit when you in Bonn!

Bookstore that is in a converted old cinema / theatre. Well worth a visit just for that. However the book selection is good too along with the other items they sell. Good accessibility and well worth the trip

I have been in this country for 18 months and this is by far the best bookshop I have ever been to. I have been to Thalia in other cities but this one just blew my mind! It has a cute section for kids of all ages. It has all kinds of books you can think of, be it Romantic novels, school textbooks or the latest Sudoku gold. The first floor had a theater-like appeal. There are comfortable chairs there where one can just sit and enjoy the view, or dig into a new book, or rest while waiting for someone else. There is a cafè in this floor too. If you are the type that likes drinking a cup of coffee or munching on something while reading, this will be your favourite spot. It has a whole floor for international books. I read a lot of English book so this was the best part for me. There are collections from various series, biographies, philosophy books and whatever you might be looking for. I just moved to Bonn, and as a bookworm, this is already my favourite spot in the city centre. Thankyou for your excellence Thalia!

The Thalia book shop occupies the rooms of the former Metropol movie theater. The book shop`s architecture is propably unique for a book shop. Even if you do not intend to buy a book, you should go there. Maybe you will change your mind.

Here the staff were so friendly, and helpful and knowledgeable. I had to buy a gift for a friend's young daughter, so a very kind staff member advised me on what is popular for young children, and it was a complete success. Thanks to the staff here at Thalia Bonn 👍🏾

Lovely interior with a small cafe overlooking the square. You can see some remnants of the old theater. Large English book collection too.

Huge selection of English books! But it's a little confusing that some English books are in the basement and the rest is on the second floor. The atmosphere is amazing, perfect for everyone that loves books!

Relaxing bookstore, kids area downstairs with reading nooks and play area, 2st floor has a cinema section reading /seating area where you can peruse books before buying, also a Cafe with s balcony overlooking the Bonn market square. English and foreign language books on topfloor above this with reading areas and bathroom facilities. Requires a coin though.

Good, large bookshop, located in a repurposed old cinema. Has a cafe and toilets. Coffee good; shame there were no gluten free cakes or other food.

Thalia is a big chain bookstore with all of the tat and charm of one. To be fair, the Bonn location does actually have more charm than the average big chain as it is located in an old movie theatre. It is also of course better than Amazon - but there are plenty of independent bookstores in the Bonn region you could be visiting. In terms of range, it has pretty much anything you need, including a large English collection on the top floor and English YA on the basement floor, and a great DaF section (German as a foreign language).

The best part is the cafe upstairs, where you can relax after digging through all those books :)

Not only is a very good bookshop, with plenty of variety and a quite complete selection, but also the building is amazing. We definitely recommend visiting it, even when you need nothing from it.

Best bookstore that exists in Bonn, because this bookstore is built in an old Cinema. Definitely worth a visit!

I tried to buy a book today. I asked the employee if they had it. She replied "yes" but she didn't know for sure because their application failed and sent me to look at the shelf myself. No, she didn't help me look for the book even when I came to ask her for help the second time - I got on her nerves because she was chatting with another employee. Inexcusable ignorance. Catastrophic help when buying on that third floor of your bookstore...

Great atmosphere, beautiful location near several bus and tram stop like Bertha-von-Suttner Platz. It is very easy to find. It has a great selection of English books, and a variety of language books like Arabic to German or French to German. There are also many reading places where you can check out books before you buy - for free. And the cherry in top is the restaurant on the first floor. The customer service at Thalia is also very friendly and helpful. Thalia is easily one of my favorite spots in Bonn.
