The onsen is nice but it’s also a scam. You have to pay 2750 yen to store your shoes (per person) The private room we reserved was 7700 yen. Ended up paying an additional 5500 yen because we had to store our shoes. It’s ridiculous. Plus the man who was “helping” clearly didn’t like his job and was very short and rude. As if it’s my preference to be had for $36 USD to store shoes. It turned a relatively relaxing experience into an annoying one. Good job guys. Consider just saying the price is 13200 and it includes free storage of your shoes. Which you should offer anyway since it’s YOUR policy to not have shoes, and it’s the same profit for you. But no, someone “smart” thought it was better to let people feel like they got scammed.

If you’re visiting and would like a relaxing day, definitely try out this place. It’s very similar to how a spa works. Basically you pay an admission fee and then you can use the pubic bath all day if you like. You’re required to change into yukatas and walk around bare foot unless you are exiting to the terrace garden. They also have warm water foot soaks for those who don’t feel comfortable going into the bath. You can also get a private room if you don’t like they idea of being naked with others of your own gender. Note that even if you book a private suite, you’ll still have to pay the admission fee, which is about 2600 Yen. The private suite gets you a tub in an outdoor area but it’s still private as nobody is able to see you. So don’t worry about if the next door can see you naked. They cant. The private suite lasts 2 hours which then you will have to check out. If you get hungry, there’s food and drink available to purchase. If you’re tired, there’s resting rooms.

The highlight of our trip! I wish I had known how massive this place was so I could have allotted more time here. So many areas to discover!! Recommend spending at least 4 hours here. Check out all the levels and rooms.

It is a walking distance from Art hotel osaka bay tower. My first time to visit this place and an onsen. The staffs didnt speak english very well, but they are giving their best to communicate. All the signs leading to the garden and bath pretty clear. Upon entering the bath, there is no rule written or guidance on what to do. So it might be a bit confusing for a first timer like me. Luckily i read all the rules about onsen online. No tattoo, completely naked. If you bring the small towel inside the bathing area, make sure it didnt touch the onsen pool. And of course, try not to talk because people are relaxing there. There is a barbercue place near the garden area. I am not sure how we can get the barbecue package or where to order it. But overall, it is a beautiful place, clean, and relaxing of course.

a really great experience! we booked a private onsen, which was very nice as my boyfriend has tattoos - we didn't wear the robes throughout the facility and instead explored before changing, because we didn't buy covers for his tattoos. the facility is lovely, the bath was amazing, and check-in and check-out was a breeze! definitely recommend booking a private room ahead of time :)

My husband and I have mid size tattoos so we booked the private onsen. The private onsen was amazing and the rooms were clean and very much feel like “at home”. Staff had amazing service. We highly suggest to book your tickets & rooms online so that you have an easy check in. Some staff speak English for those who are worried about not knowing any Japanese. Booking online will save you lots of time. While walking around the facility, you need to cover all your tattoos! This is non-negotiable!Tattoo covers were not the best quality. If you sweat, they come off easily and hard to re-apply. Would suggest you walk around the facilities first, then do your public/private bath, then exit the facilities. Other than the quality of the covers, it was an amazing experience!!

Fantastic onsen experience. I've been to bathhouse around the world and this is definitely one of the better ones. I'd recommend spending at least half your day here as there are so many activities and food/drink options that they have available during the day time. I made the mistake of coming in the evening and there just wasn't enough time to do everything or they had closed already. Everything is charged through a wristband you're given when you check in and you pay at the end when you check out. The venue is quite large and you should be taking your time to slowly walk through and enjoy each of the amenities. Very foreigner friendly and great for a first onsen experience.

If you go after 5 pm, you can get a discount of about 700 yen, and you can see the night view. You can experience Japan wearing a yukata. The water is clean and nice. The shampoo and conditioner are also very good. The restaurant needs a little improvement.

I came during golden week so it was extremely crowded and noisy. Even in the lounge room it was hard to relax with all the people going in and out. And they seemed to only have one elevator which created huge lines for it. Staff was also not helpful. They just gave us a map and didn’t explain what else we can do there. The only reason I’m rating it this high is for the private baths. I reserved one in advance and it was completely worth it. The room is nice and quiet. It’s locked with a code for secure privacy. The open air bath was so refreshing. I didn’t use the public baths or eat any food.

Modern, clean newer onsen like experience in Osaka. Staff was nice but limited English. Multiple questions we asked were met with nervous laughter. We muddled through. Got the private onsen as a couple. Absolutely wonderful. Feel amazing and so nice afterwards. Beautiful little zen like garden, tatami mats, a space to just close the door and get some time to just yourself. Once you get yo the private room, its all just for youself including a toliet, sink, shower and onsen (Japanese style hot tub with a hot and cold taps). Shampoo, conditioner, 2 types of foaming soap, body wash, lotions, hand soap etc. are included, plus fresh towels. You must use the Yukata (bath robes). American/Western sizes are available by request behind the counter. Note: check in and check out was a bit confusing (I think they used some wrong words in English to explain the payment process...) There is an admission fee. What you pay for at check in is *not* that fee, its a hold for damages (?). You pay the admission upon exiting. You can also charge for food, drinks etc. with your locker wrist band/charge card. It's a bit confusing. If you do private, that's a separate fee as well that can be prepayed in advance.

First time at an onsen theme park, this was an amazing experience for my girlfriend and I! There were numerous onsen baths and saunas to relax and rejuvenate yourself it. The rooftop garden had great vibes at night + the dinner makes this a complete experience. Highly recommend if you are visiting Osaka and want to go to an onsen. I recommend going in the evening and having dinner there after soaking in the onsen.

The staff themselves were lovely but one of the towels in the private baths had a fake eyelash attached to it (which is disgusting) and booking online did not stipulate that there is an entry fee on-top of the fee for the private baths. Rating heavily dropped as a result of the eye lash and the very obscure pricing.

It's basically an onsen theme park catered to tourists so keep your expectations to what it is. If looking for a quieter, more local and traditional onsen experience, I would recommend looking for locations outside the city. As for Solaniwa, we entered with a discounted 1500 Yen ticket provided by Art Hotel Osaka Bay Tower and it was worth the price and more. The complex is beautifully decorated with many different areas to relax. Yukata and towel rentals are included in the price and the wristband payment system makes it a very seamless and comfortable time to roam and explore. Make sure to try the many different types of baths as well as the sauna. The food options are wide but a bit pricey so would recommend planning meal times away from your visit here.

First time visit here after a tiring day in Nara Park, very chilling place, cozy, towels, cloths all prepared, the rooftop garden is just cool! Can sit down and enjoy the breezing winds. While I use the common female area, very clean and neat, a few types of zone available, after all can enjoy a cup of nice drink in their cafe, very good experience, will definitely recommend it!

We have been to several themed onsens and this one was really enjoyable. My only complaint is the it is laid out in a confusing way. The food was very good and easy to order. There were 7 different baths in the women’s/men’s area and an outdoor foot bath in the garden. Lots of cute photo areas too.

Note: tattoos are allowed but you must buy cover up patch adhesives. Large, developed, urban onsen complex with 7 tubs (including a carbonated tub which was fun), a cold tub, and a dry sauna. Multiple locker rooms, plenty of space and still busy. Attached to Osaka Tower, convenient to get to by train, but the result is that it feels very city atmosphere. On the higher priced side.

i booked 2 private rooms for 8 pax, staff email me and asked to cancel, rebook 1 room only when we arrived, front desk staff retrieved my booking and mentioned 6 pax only. So the email communication was not passed down at all. Rude staff at private bath counter whom dismisses me off just by replying: No English. 5th floor food area (tenchangaya) understaffed, 1 person working only, long waiting time. Ordered pumpkin soup in bread, the food came out the bread is so tiny unlike shown in picture. Do not be fool by picture. The main pull factor of this place is private room bath only. The facility is separated into many sections and the Map is shown high up on 1st floor wall only. You have to navigate on your own and no staff on ground to help you. Do not expect friendly staff, treat the experience like coming into a maze. Very disappointing.

We bought a private onsen ticket separately on the website. We did not go to the public bath. Service was great and the place was so big. We really had a good time relaxing and talking. Many photo spots available but the place is also very crowded. Food prices are too expensive so we did not eat anything other than a dessert and a drink.

This was my first time going to an Onsen and I loved it. For any travellers looking for a friendly, clean Onsen, this is a great option. (Please note I don’t have tattoos so this may be different). On arrival you are given towels and a kimono bath robe. You can make your way to the 5th floor for the baths. You can take your little towel in with you for modesty/ to wipe your brow. There are lots of baths and a sauna - and a great view of the gardens. Aside from bathing there are games, food, photo spots - good for a family day out. Would highly recommend.

Paid for the private onsen and public onsen at this place. Public onsen is ok with lots of choices of hot pools to choose from. Private onsen is a bit pricey but comfortable. However it is not sound proof and you can hear your neighbours screwing it off like a Japanese AV movie. Cafe options are very limited and rigid timing of closure. Cafe at 5th level closes at 7pm on the dot even though onsen is still wide open and wouldnt take orders at 7.03PM. Each eatery inside has a different menu and the food is a ripoff. Mostly a tourist trap.

Grabbed a private room with the family and really enjoyed it. Staff friendly and helpful as we checked in. Great experience wearing some traditional dress. Recommend enjoying the gardens etc prior to heading to any private room.

A comprehensive resort-like Onsen with video aracde, place to take photos and purchasing souvenir. The Onsen itself is not as amazing as I thought because it is indoor with no view (understandable since it is in the city centre). From my observation, at least a quarter to a half of the occupants are foreigner. Staff speak basic English. The place is quite friendly to foreigner since it is close to the city centre and ample signage. Suggest booking via klook/kkday as it is cheaper than paying on arrival.

The facilities are great. Excellent place to relax. A bit off the beaten path, so it took a bit to find. Otherwise the bath was very relaxing. Reading room is all the way in the back. Need to take stairs to get to 3rd floor. Otherwise everything on 2nd with the actual bath on 5th. Great place to stay, refresh, clean up and relax.. look to spend some time Note: supposed to be discount price when booking after 5pm, but we had to pay full price on checkout? 🤔

Very good service and efficient system, also very accommodating to your needs, however the air conditioning seems quite weak throughout the facility, after using onsen its better to leave some time to cool off outdoors before using indoor facilities.

A great place relaxation. The onsen area is smaller than i expected but i enjoyed the stone sauna a lot. My mum loves this activity.

Not the best onsen experience. Some staff are really kind but I noticed many were fed up / tired and would be rude. Other visitors are a bit selfish. When entering the facility, you have to take off your shoes and put them in a locker. Keep that shoe key on you at all times! That's the key that'll you use to pay for food and activities. You'll go to the front desk to register your key. You can then pick out your yukata and enter the changing room to change into your yukata. Onsen is on the 5th floor. Make sure you're on the right side for easy access. (Private bath / public bath areas are on opposite sides) Ground floor and 5th floor there are some dining options. There is currently 1 vegan food option which was great for my vegetarian sister. This place has a lot of potential. However, the staff and other visitors make this place unpleasant. Visitors do not follow the rules or push their way to get what they want. I felt really exhausted and took a nap in the relaxation/book/manga room. I was woken up by staff letting me know they were closing the area. As I tried to leave, the staff member turned off all the lights. It was very hard to see and I almost fell going down the stairs since there were no light. That was very rude of that staff member. By the way, I went on a Monday night. Not a busy day, but it felt so busy in the onsen area since it isn't as large as I thought. I do not recommend coming here on holidays or weekends.

A busy onsen place even during a weekday evening. Would recommend for people who don’t mind the big crowd and could even be loud at times. The facility is top notch. You get to experience different types of hot springs in downtown Osaka area.

Facilities: We booked a private room that was great. Enjoying a hot bath with the cold winter air was relaxing and refreshing. It was very quiet except for a group that came in talking loudly and squealing. They were not loud for long though, and quieted down. Service: Booking seemed simple enough and I received a confirmation email at booking as well as the day before. The email states to show my email upon arrival. The front desk staff we received seemed confused and had to talk to who seemed like the supervisor for help. Check out is what solidifies my low score for the service. My email says that if payment does not go through at booking, they would let us know. I never received such communication beforehand. The supervisor at the end of the night had a bit of an attitude when helping us understand why we were being charged for the room.

Great place to have a dip after a long day of sight seeing. For people who have tattoo, they sell a limited quantity of sticker to hide the tattoo per person. The stickers stay well on the skin. The ambiance is nice. There was music and a restaurant.
