Very beautiful park with lovely plants and trees. Has a musical fountain which is only in the evenings. The boating area has excellent facilities for foot massage, body massage and even a treadmill! A wide variety of drinks and snacks also available. Excellent staff. The parks above near the dam also beautiful. You have to park your vehicle at the entrance and walk or take a bus. Plan early morning or late evening visit the weather in the region is hot! Decent aquarium. The negatives were toilet in bad condition and plastic bottles thrown by visiting in lots of places. But a great place to visit

This is Dam come Park and is a well maintained place. The place is kind of circuit, running more than 2 miles. There are buses offering ride along the circuit . It has a deer park and a zoo that we couldn’t check it out since we didn’t have enough time. It’s a great place to check out

Nice place but too many mosquitos. Evrything you have to pay. Not good facilities very small kids would have fun not others. Saw peacock. Boating is thr competitive price but water is smelling. Life saving jackets only cant see life saver at all ends. One time visit only.

Beautiful dam and gardens. Parking facility with snacks shops . There is also amusement park. However there was no light show or mich cleaning but I can't complain as they just took 10 rupee entry fee. For dam there is easy trek and up top it's amazing

Tunghbhadra dam is largest dam of karnataka...beautiful place with an aquarium, boating, musical fountain show, multiple picnic spots, small amusement park... There are buses available inside premises which took u to TB dam , then drop u to musical fountain...and this bus costs just Rs 20 per head.. And the entry Ticket for dam is Rs 10 per head..View of the dam is amazing....but they don't allow u to walk on the bridge made over dam, it's just u can have a glance and click pictures from outside.. View of sunset over dam is beautiful as tunghbhadra river starts shining as rays of fun fall on its water...

A nice graden around tungabhadra dam. Best time to visit is evening. Need 1-1.5 hrs to visit park fully but need additionl time for musical fountain. From entry gate it is approx 1 km by walk, cars can be paked at entrance (30rs.) Park entry ticket rs. 10 available at main gate. Park has many fountains but few are functional. Before Park there is small entertainment Park for kids. Few eatries are also there outside Park. A tiny aquarium is also there with additional entry fee. There is aviary/mini zoo but nothingn is there. However some peacock can be spotted near musical fountain. Comapred to vrindavan garden, TB dam Park is small, not much attractive,

Vast sheet of water with great depth. Since it was late in the evening, could not take pics to the heart's content. Also digital kiosk could not be seen. Please visit before 5pm to enjoy the beauty. Park has many varieties of trees, bushes and flowers. I didn't enjoy the Dancing fountain, since I have seen some of the best. Due to covid we didn't use bus but walked. Allow time for we walking upto dam, and enjoy other games for children. Games are a bit steeply priced.

There is no entry to the Dam. Only places where you can visit are the parks, fountain, kids play area, aquarium and the mini zoo associated to the Dam. Dam is really huge and serves agricultural and electrical purposes of the state of Karnataka. Good food is not available inside this acres long property; carry food with you if you want to spend whole day inside the gates.

We visited at the end of January so gates are not opened and water was not there.. We could see backwater and in the evening musical fountain. View from the top is good. You have bus to roam inside the dam

Beautiful view from Top, Nicely maintained and kids can enjoy at Amusement Park. In the night there are 2 shows of Musical Fountain which you can enjoy sitting in the park. It's located on the main highway so easily accessible. There is bus facility inside the premises which takes you to the Dam and back for ₹20 per person, but going walking till the dam is refreshing. Do plan this place to visit in your itinerary if you go to Hampi.

I have never seen dam so better and in such a glory. Beautiful place. There are two levels. One the watch tower which gives a very beautiful view of the whole dam and the city, which you can reach by a bus service provided at the gate for 20/30₹ per adult. It can take upto 90 minutes of your time. The lower level is where the boating and the musical fountain is there. It's walkable by road and takes 10-15 minutes. You should keep 3-4 hours time to visit the place and better to start around 3/4pm and finish the boating and check the musical fountain around 5pm and enjoy the sunset from the watch tower. The sunset is best enjoyed from the Ganesh temple in hampi and can give a better view from the Ganesh temple rather than the dam Good and polite staff. There was only one eatery at the gate. Pathetically managed by a family including under aged kids who were all over the place and completely confused. Carry your own food if you want

After visiting Mysore dam, I felt TB dam and tourist infrastructure of TB dam is much much better. A must visit place. Very neat n clean and well maintained. Kudos to staff posted there. Especially security persons , ensuring everything is right there...

Good place to visit. Kids will also enjoy the place. It has an amusement park with pedal boating, some rides, aquarium, etc. You can't take your vehicle inside but there is bus service inside which takes you to the dam. But going to the garden, aquarium and mini zoo involves some walking. Best time to visit is evenings, as you can risk around without feeling the sun. And all the rides would be open. We visited during day time so the rides were deserted and mostly not running. The pedal boat was open though.

  • 4/5 PURUSHOTHAM S. 3 years ago on Google
The parks below the dam are green and well maintained as this area falls into desert climate. The small zoo has many deers along with several peacocks and one white duck. It also has small aquarium with good collection of colourful fishes.Don't expect much for the entrance ticket of 25 rupees and you have a small boating point for relaxation. If You have time you can enjoy the musical fountains in the evening.

Tungabhadra dam is a multipurpose dam. It has a viewpoint, musical fountain at night, an aquarium, some fun games for kids and a park. No private vehicles are allowed inside. There is bus service to reach the above spots. Tourists are not allowed to the viewpoint post 6 pm. Going to the place at night will not be very exciting as all the viewpoints and water will be not be visible. The musical fountain is not in sync and paying ₹25/- for it looks unworthy.

Well let me put it straight. We went there in the evening to witness the lighting at the flowing dam waters. Disappointed. Lighting on the Dam waters only in July and August as informed by the authorities. The Musical lighting we saw was at the Gardens. No great shakes. People keep walking up and down making your life miserable if you are taking a video shoot!! For all my friends who visit here: 1. Sunset point - depending on the time of sunset that's the last bus that will bring you down at the Garden point. This was not told to us. Infact nobody tells you anything! 2. There is a guest house there. I found the gate keeper were allowing only certain people from certain State. They didn't allow us!!! 3. The place is neat and tidy. But the locals, spit and throw plastic bottles beyond the fence and litter. Authorities are least concerned. I am posting 1 pucture. 4. Even in the musical garden, though there are dust bins provided locals litter on the grass. Did not visit the Boat ride, and other amusement options, so cannot comment. On the whole 😔

Reached a little late for the actual view of the dam , so stayed back for the fountains show . The gardens are well maintained and parking infrastructure is quite good . The musical fountain is ok - does not compare to Brindavan gardens in Mysore . Will hopefully come back some day to actually get an opportunity to view the dam in full glory

  • 5/5 Maheshwaran V. 2 years ago on Google
Tungabhadra Dam and garden is located on the busy highway from Hospet to Hubli. From the entrance to view point on the hill is about 6 Km. There are private bus services available for Rs 20 for up & down. From View point, Dam and garden has spectacular view. Evening around 5.45 PM, colourful lights on the dam add beauty and feast to the eyes. At about 6.15 PM, the bus services to the dam and garden ends. In the garden, the aquarium and musical dancing Fountains were really superb. The dancing Fountain show starts at 6.50 PM and lasts for 20 min.Zoo is also open in day. Entrance fees to the garden is Rs 25 and Rs 10 for children less than 12 years. This includes entrance fees for every show inside. One should not miss this amazing place to visit.

Tungabhadra dam and park are a beautiful place to enjoy. You get a wonderful view from the hill top of the TB dam. A small park is also there on hilltop. The zoo and main park is on the bottom of hill and is well maintained.

It was cool Windy evening. If water was released it would be great. No lights at park it’s not safe to walk in park without light at evenings at least allowing time should have limited before sunset. Water fountain dance is pathetic. Children play area is good.

The Tungabhadra Dam is a water reservoir constructed across the Tungabhadra river in the city of Hosapete., Vijayanagara District, (Karnataka). It is a multipurpose dam serving irrigation, electricity generation, flood control, etc. for the state. The dam was a joint project undertaken in 1949 by the Kingdom of Hyderabad and Madras Presidency when the construction began; later, after India's constitution into a republic in 1950, it became a joint project between Mysore State (now Karnataka) and Hyderabad State (now Telangana). The construction was completed in 1953.

Visited the musical fountain in the night. It's for 20 minutes and is fun. There are lots of seats around the fountain to sit and view the event. Very well maintained dam and park.

We went on a weekend & it was crowded, minibus services are available at a cost of ₹20 per head from the main gate and will take you to sunset point, dam & garden (to & fro). Best time to visit in the evenings to witness the sunset.
