It’s a rarity that we wait less than 10 mins at Academy. 2 checkers and 40 people in line. If there was any other sporting good store in town I’d go.

8 lanes available, 2 lanes open 40+ in line. I don't know what the owner is thinking. I would be singing for back up at the registers.

Absolutely love Academy sports. It’s a one stop shop for me when it comes to ammo, hunting, camping, etc. Doug over in sporting-goods, such as the guns and ammo department is absolutely amazing! He’s always so friendly and happy to see me when I walk in. He doesn’t treat you like a customer! He treats you as a friend of his family! He’s the reason I keep coming back to purchase my side arms, along with ammo and anything else that I need for my camping and hunting experiences. And he is also the reason that I will continue to come back.

We shopped and had a return. The cashier was normally on the sales floor and was doing her best. She messed up 3 times during our transaction but had a smile in her face and was still cheerful.

We easily found what we were looking for and received immediate help getting into our vehicle. Employees were friendly and helpful even during extremely busy day.

Best experience today with Amarillo Academy!! There was a price discrepancy with a product that was on a shelf that range up for a different price then it was advertised for. The gentleman that helped me was quick to call his manager on duty. Edith was the manager on duty and she handled my situation perfectly. She was pleasant to deal with, showed professional courtesy with her employees and customers. She went the extra mile to help me and I couldn’t be happier! Edith is a perfect example of how a store manager should help customers and employees. Corporate if you are reading this, all of academy’s should model Edith’s managing skills and teach that to others managers and stores. Thanks so much Edith!!!!

They need to get their system figured out. Everytime I go there for what I need I check online and it always says in stock and how many. Then when we show up they don't even carry that product in the store.

Yesterday's visit was ridiculous. I was checking out and asked the cashier if they had the neck cooling towels. She said yes, and I asked her if she could possibly radio someone where the product was to bring to us as we were already in the checkout process. Her manager told her no they couldn't do that, so I took items she already checked out and walked to the back with my 5 child to retrieve the item and there were 2 workers in the back and they apologized because they could have brought it to the front. I am appalled by the managers inability to do something so easy as phoning the workers in that section to bring the item up to the cash register. I am absolutely disappointed in the behavior of the manager.
