Very spacious and a well maintained, managed hospital in Sri Lanka. Managed and maintained by htge Tri-forces. Genaral and private paid rooms available. Private rooms are very spacious and clean with all facilities. There are 2 ATMs(HNB & BOC), a HNB Bank, 2 cafeterias and a mini Supermarket inside the premises. And also a pharmacy and OSUSALA. General and private OPD available. Very reasonable pricesand good service

Don't go! the worst horrible place ever. They are giving painkillers to all patients without checking and scanning anything. And then when painkiller cuts the all pain they are telling 'now u can go home'. We were there at 12 midnight and the all staff members and doctors were sleep. One attendant wake up all the crew infront of us. They didn't touch the patients pee samples. The patients should remove the lid and should do all the tests by themselfs with their instructions. The saline clip should tuck and remove themselves by patients. I'm just asking why we call them doctors?

The hospital is clean which is a plus point. They are with very strict rules. No kids are allowed and also when you are going in you have to have the pass in your hand otherwise you would not be allowed to go in. The visiting times are 1 hour only. But the hospital is very clean and organized. They charge for vehicle parking.

The service in KDU hospital's emergency unit is very sorrow. when you go to emergency unit of KDU, that you can get idea that they have no well experience staff and they don't know to respect for others. Also, the infrastructure of KDU hospital is very good but these staff members fail in terms of humaneness.

The best hospital in the whole Sri Lanka right now. The parking alone gets 5 out of 5 stars. Not a single place in Sri Lanka offers this kinda parking. The discipline of the people who are working here is astonishing and they go for a extra mile to help everyone one out. Even better than the best private hospital in this country. (Also, everyone who works here is an employee of a defense regiment) Even though there were about 100 people in the OPD queue, it took only a little while to register ourselves and then to meet a doctor. (You got to register yourself on the first visit) There're two OPD counters, one for free and other is paid. There's a laughfs supermarket, pharmacy, ATM, bakery and a cafeteria inside. All in very good condition. The hallways, lobby areas are massive. I'd recommend this place without hesitation and wish if all the other government places were like this 🤔

KDU Hospital is one of the places with mismanagement according to my observation...why?? # construction wise good & spacious hospital with a very limited staff to assist the patients. # car park is full of mud & very difficult to park bcus of that reason & it's not even leveled properly. # today I went their laboratory to give some blood samples (After paying them privately) & they told me no need to be on the line & can go straight, but when I went near the door there was a big line & all the patients were waiting for their turn & the private patients & other patients both were at the same line & inside the Lab only one person is taking samples & theirs no proper system...they should either arrange two rooms for paying & non paying patients or should arrange more staff to take samples bcus their were patients after fasting including myself . # phone's are ringing & not enough staff to answer the customer queries. # if you manage this hospital in a corrective manner the public could gain the maximum out of this place for sure.

Hospital is fully fledged with latest technologies. Having enough space and limited reputed doctors. However the service and the hospitality is very poor. Nursing is very bad. Management has to check whether they willingly do the job. Honestly saying my experience, blood samples section is running with inexperienced staff. Specially no coordination within the units, no proper coordination for surgeries. Patients were asked to be fasting for more than 24 hours and cancelling the surgery. Patients get more mental stress than the illness. Appreciated they provide free food to patients where the attendant who serve the food is shouting at the patients. So badly behaved. By my experience nursing staff is under pressure they don't do their job satisfactory. Very irresponsible staff. For all the section patients should wait for couple of hours to get the service.

It was a clean and well equipped place with all credits to the Forces but we had a bad experience with a consultant gynecologist Dr. C. Ekanayake, who was extremely unprofessional and rude to our mother demanding her to answer only when she's asked to. He refused to check her previous reports or her requirement to take a second opinion for a surgery as he refused to listen to her experience with the previous doctor. Hence We had to bring her back without getting any value to the amount we paid and the time consumed (he was 1 hour late) as we did not want to argue or get further service from the same individual. This was the first time she visited the hospital as she wanted to get used the hospital due to close distance which will probably not happen based on her first experience. I am not sure how healthy that attitude is towards a lady of 60+ years and most importantly a patient who has paid for the service.

Please don't go to this hospital. Inexperienced doctors and nurses kill people. Don't go there even if you only have a headache. All they have is a high-tech machine. They have no human knowledge for patients. They only do research on critically ill patients. On top of that, their ICU is filled with machines and there is only a massive infection. If you go inside once, you will definitely die from infection. Even if there are no advanced facilities, you can go to the government hospital and get treated with their rich medical knowledge. Don't visit this hospital again and again if you don't want to meet your miserable end.

Very good doctors. But other staff is worst! That two cashier girls in the reception wasted our time. They do not know anything. When I went to take a blood test, nurses do not know whether their hospital do such tests. Disgusting! Completely wasted my time and I couldn't do my medical tests. The people that answer the phones do not know anything about hospital.

I'm giving 2stars for the facilities such as toilets and Bathroom. Not even zero stars for the staff. The ward my mum was in was not organised at all and men and women were mixed up. It was so uncomfortable for both parties even to sleep without thinking there dress will move and expose themselves to others. In my mum's case, she was bedridden and it was extremely hard for me to cover without screen to change her pad. I understand they have to follow rules because of covid, but at least a removable screen would have helped. I had to use a bedsheet to hang on two sticks to cover her when I changed her. The person in charge called " Master" was horrible and was extremely uncaring and was very rough putting the canula in my mum's hand and he twisted her arm with anger. I thought that was pure evil. We wouldn't come if we didn't need assistance from medical professionals. And they messed up my mum's regular medication and I lost trust and had to keep eye on things for my mum's safety.  It was my mum's choice to go there, but I don't recommend for anyone this place.

University Hospital KDU is located in Katuwawala, Boralesgamuwa is administered by the Ministry of Defense. The hospital consists of all modern facilities and equipment. The hospital is very spacious and offers fast service. All the doctors and consultant doctors are available to offer their service. Patients can attend different clinics as well. Some of the clinics are free of charge but for some they charge a relatively lower rate compared to the private sector.

This is a hospital with all the facilities and free of charge. The doctors are very kind and treat with care. But have less staff. I think most of the people doesn’t know this place exists because compared to other government hospitals this one is less crowded. Have a small parking lot. If that’s fill you have to park your vehicle in RMV car park. The parking lot is bit dusty and now they charge for parking.

    1. Very bad response to the public 2. Staff uneducated regarding the admin procedures. 3. Internal extension numbers never answered. 4. No responsible officials to handle the public issues 5. No ethique from the frontline staff including Nurses at all. 6. Wasting times of the patients/ public unnecessarily by the staff except Doctors 7. Bad response to the people even they are seeking payed services also. 8. Most of the government hospitals treated better than this institution. 9. Not recommended (even payed services)

This hospital is highly inefficient. I couldn't believe that this place is managed by the defense ministry. It seems like a waste of public funds due to poor management. One has to struggle from the very beginning, starting from the car park, to find the desired location. Visual displays are poor, making it challenging to navigate through the confusing layout. Staff members appear busy with their phones and private chats, making it even more difficult. The staff is not attentive and polite. The corridors are vast but lack proper lighting. The washrooms are unclean, and the lights switch off upon entry. Not recommended for those with high blood pressure.

The best government hospital, very clean and staff is friendly, even the doctors are very efficient, wish they improve the cardiology department where we can get a bypass done here, I think that's the only disadvantage we have here, every thing else is done, only the bypass we have to go to general hospital, unless that fabulous place, convenient, have banks, supermarket, book shop, and cafe,. Even if you are hospitalized some one can stay close by, or we can get the standby service from the hospital itself.

Place is kept neat and tidy and lush greenery suroundiñgs... But the service of some staff are very arrogant and harsh in words and actions . Today went to take a PCR test, myself to get admitted for a next day surgery .. The female in charge 12/05 /2022 around 11.45 am (wearing light blue uniform)was terrible ,talking to patients with no respect at all .so harsh and rude .can't ask any question, just kind of bark off creature lady she is ??! Onco clinic...on weekdays patients are kept standing , treated not so much care .Not enough seating capacity .space is thereto put up more seating outside tHe clininc inside area . Hope more consultant oncologists are put into practice their to avoid unnecessary delays ...on clinic days ..doctors foget to prescribe medication s !!?? May be old retired oncologists are employed here .time to employ young ,experienced oncologists here . It's a utter mess here . Radiology clinic is very efficient and good staff with much courteous staff. I was admitted to ward 4..fir a minor surgery for 2 nights . The Doctors forget to prescribe medication when leaving the ward ,patient had to remind Surprisingly after discharged, they called and said if medicines were presribed to my surprise ...? Surely the doctors should be in touch with the patientt ,history and diagnose cards info much professional than this level. Made my mind not to visit this hospital again or recommend to o any otdher as doctors on this hospital majorly forget what they are supposed to do So it's a scary situation to the patient .....

hospital facilities are amazing but the doctors and specialist there are all about money. Resources wasted. We went to channel a specialist doctor who's working at KDU and he wanted us to do a special test which would cost one million. And then since we can't afford to pay that much on a test, we went to another oncologist at the same hospital thinking she'd be different. She gave us her number and said forward all our reports but it's being two weeks and she didn't even bother to read them. Even called n she said she'll get back to us in a day but I guess since we weren't willing to do treatment privately, she didn't care if the patient died or not. Moneyminded doctors all over the place. Don't go here not very experienced doctors and they think about is how much could they make from each patient. Wish they had some of the amazing doctors at other government hospitals which would have been very helpful for the patients to have such a resourceful and peaceful hospital to get treatment at. Hospital is very well maintained and hats off to the three forces for keeping it that way but not worth going coz of the moneyhungry specialists there.

On Colombo Horana road adjoining RMV. Very spacious, clean, well maintained mostly manned by Armed Forces staff, well disciplined, góod food court with banks, book shop, convenience store. Only drawback is lack of signage of direction inside facility as got ask where to go next etc. Hope this wid be rectified.

A spacious and modern hospital with latest techs of health at your disposal. Still they rely a lot on paperwork for the admission process. Comparing to other gov hospitals this stands high in terms of the quality of the wards and facilities.

DON'T VISIT,THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE.Also some of the 5 star reviews about this place is BIASED,just like Sri Lankan forces and politics. The hospital is the same.Worse than a government hospital according to some other people's experience too.Really rude staff. The staff is underqualified,KDU university med students are also underqualified. No meal choices even for private rooms. No privacy. No meal choices, but they'll always ask the meal choice as "nona parippuda, chicken curryda, idiappada".The kitchen don't even have fruits because they say fruits are too expensive. No toilet paper or other toiletry supplied. The staff at reception will tell you could have told 4 days ago, when you have told days ago.Doesn't even deserve a star.Too expensive.Another example of how forces treat people rudely, they just want the money
