A beutiful ancient buddhist temple. A good place to relax your mind. Has beutiful wall paintings and the temple is unique in the area in the sense that it is situated on a rock.

Old Temple built upon a solid Rock (hence the name) and would have had a really good view now distorted with buildings and walls.

A very beautiful temple. There is an ancient Buddha statue shrine with paintings belonging to the Kandy era. The new Buddha statue shrine is adorned with beautiful paintings and sculptures. All of its paintings and sculptures were created by Arnolis, a well-known Sri Lankan artist and sculptor who has done art sculptures at the Bellanwila Temple and many other temples.The temple also has a large recently constructed reclining Buddha statue, a standing Buddha statue, a Samadhi Buddha statue as well as twenty eight statues of the Lord Buddha. This temple is popular in this area because of its rock formations. All the Buddha statues are beautifully carved on the rock. Due to these reasons, this place has recently become a place used by many photographers for their photography.
