A prefectural facility located on a hill. It is also used for regional seminars. There are large buildings and buildings on vast grounds. In the 1960s, the water quality of Lake Kasumigaura deteriorated considerably due to the occurrence of blue-green algae, and the lake was highly polluted with phosphorous substances and sewage from pig farming. However, all the local governments surrounding Lake Kasumigaura came together to prevent the contaminated water from flowing out. As a result of controlling it, we achieved results in purification. What each of us can pass on to future generations is to bring Lake Kasumigaura closer to the way it was in the early Showa era, when you could scoop up water from Lake Kasumigaura with your hands and drink it. Perfect for elementary school students to learn about Lake Kasumigaura! The resource space on the second floor is like a library. You can enter the facility for free, there is a large parking lot, and of course it is free! For those who are not interested in Lake Kasumigaura, I would like them to enjoy the view. From the walking path in front of you, you can also see the Ushiku Daibutsu and Hasuda. When I visited, a nature observation group was being held, and there were many children with insect collecting nets. This year, it looks like they'll be holding a daphnia observation event. It's like examining the daphnia you caught yourself under a microscope. Please be aware that there are no shops or restaurants around the facility.

Since it is built on a hill, you can see Kasumigaura and the lotus root fields. Once inside, it was a wonderful facility where you could deepen your understanding of Kasumigaura.

I've been doing this since early in the new year. You can go out into the garden and see the lake from there. What's more, this environmental science museum was fun because there was something to visually compare the depth of the lake. The facility was also very clean.

free entrance. The exhibits center on the ecosystem of Lake Kasumigaura, including its fish, waterfowl, and microorganisms, and there are also many video exhibits for children. The geological formations and shell midden exhibits are also more kid-friendly than the Kamitakatsu Shell Midden Museum. Recommended for families. There is a rest area and vending machines (drinks, bread, cup noodles) on the second floor. Also, the aquarium that was previously on the second floor has been moved to the hall on the first floor. There is also an interesting microscope exhibit in the hall. The grounds are large and there is an outdoor rest area where you can enjoy quizzes outdoors. If you are coming by bicycle from Rinrin Road, it may be difficult to climb the hill from the Kasumigaura side. However, when you return, you can see Lake Kasumigaura beyond Hasuda below! ...However, I think this is a location where you should come by car. The access information on the website says that there is also a bus option, but it is a walking course (!) from Kyodo Hospital. The photo shows the rest area and library on the second floor. Mainly local history, illustrated books, science books and magazines. For your reference.

There is a nice view of the lake Kasumigaura. I found red and white plum blossom trees in the garden along the artificial river. Flowers seem to be early in February. Beautiful.

I participated in a daphnia observation event held on Ibaraki Prefectural Citizen's Day. It was my first time visiting this facility, and it was a very beautiful facility. The event may have a simple sound, just collecting daphnia from the daphnia pond outside the facility and observing the daphnia and phytoplankton under a microscope, but it was something that even adults could enjoy. The facility has a comprehensive exhibition hall about the history and environment around Lake Kasumigaura, and while I thought it was a waste of Ibaraki Prefecture to be poorly promoted, I had a great time that stimulated my intellectual curiosity.

This is the perfect facility to study the history of Lake Kasumigaura, its origins, and its relationship with its people. In particular, the library is well stocked, so be sure to visit it with your children.

For your child's summer vacation assignments, etc. Although the collection of books is biased due to the nature of the center, it also serves as a library, and the space is large and it is very quiet unless there are groups, so it is perfect for studying or studying. It's also good for There is also a garden, which is beautifully maintained and has a nice view of Lake Kasumigaura. Despite this, it is located in a very remote area and cannot be reached unless one wants to go, so it seems unlikely that it will become a facility that is popular with everyone. It seems like a lot of tax money is being put into it, and I thought it was a waste. Uncles and others who want to relax by themselves sometimes read books here and there, but if you use it that way, it's a little-known place.

(Translated by Google) I live in a place where I don't have much chance to see Kasumigaura, so I often pass through Kasumigaura recently, and I was surprised at the size. I visited here in a children's classroom today, but no, I was surprised at the history ... About half of Ibaraki Prefecture was the sea during the Jomon period ... That's right. Part of the Kasumigaura Sea. It is a lake created by the sea becoming land and rising due to topographical changes. The first was seawater. Living in Kasumigaura, it seems that there is also a family whose house is a ship. There were also pirates. It's funny. I was more absorbed in it than a child and pressed various buttons and listened to the story w (Original)

I visited on a science tour and used a microscope to observe Daphnia. Even the kids were playing around with it with fascination. After that, I was able to enjoy the day by visiting the geological research institute and the rocket research institute. It was great to have a guide as well. Also, the bus fare alone is very reasonable.

(Translated by Google) It feels like there is such a facility in such a place. The building is also beautiful, so why not make it more appealing? I thought. Good place for me who loves fish 😁 Ibaraki Prefecture It's not that it's not unattractive, but it's not good at Soyusho.

👍👍 Every year, when the illumination season comes, I look forward to the Suigo Sakura Illumination. This year, I think there are fewer illuminations with a sailboat motif along Lake Kasumigaura.
