The “outdoor” sitting area in the winter was amazing. The atmosphere was calm and the decor is very nice. Food was very nice and I loved tons of vegetarian food on the menu. Staff was nice and friendly. I wouldn’t say this is some sort of traditional Jordan experience it’s definitely tourist oriented but the food was delicious and I would go again without any hesitation. Thank you

very beautiful place and views. parking spots are a bit limited and may be hard to find one without using the valet. they made us pay the bill before they brought the food and i think that that’s just horrible, everything else was perfect.

Back to 2015 I loved the place and the concept but I gave it 3 stars because I think they changed the target group of people they want to reach. From the last visit I felt like I’m sitting in a bar🙁 beside its expensive regarding to the portion of some things

Beautiful place-beautiful! You feel like you’re outside of Amman with the setting and trees. Delicious food. Reasonably priced! Highly recommended!

Great experience and service each time we visit. The grape leaf fried chicken is always delicious and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend sides and starters at happy hour, all are delicious. Will continue to return and especially take guests

A cool and authentic place where you will have really a piece of mind running away from Amman traffic. The decoration and historical house are well maintained and fit out is amazing. Felt the realization of the history of that house and how was really worked. Food and service was fine however the food took a bit to be served. The food taste was good, as well the prestation however the portion is a bit small versus the price paid.

A hip „restaurant“ with a young vibe, based in a stunning old building. The interiors are cool and the place boasts a beautiful alfresco dining experience. The food is mostly local Mezze classics with a modern twist. Its a vegetarian menu with limited options, but the drinks menu is very large (including beers, wine and spirits). As such this place is best seen as a bar which is great to hang out with friends, have some drinks and snacks. For a restaurant it really lacks choice and diversity of dishes.

I recently tried out this place that mainly targets tourists. When it came to the food, I was underwhelmed. While nicely presented, the flavors were just average, and the high prices didn't seem justified. It felt like they focused more on looks than on creating truly tasty dishes. Overall, if you're after a nice atmosphere and don't mind paying a premium, it might be worth a visit. But if you're a food lover seeking outstanding flavors, there are likely better options around. In short, it's a pricy tourist spot with average food.

Excellent restaurant to taste traditional oriental food in Amman. The place seems to have been spacious residential building in the past with nice view on the ancient castle. Nicely decorated. Welcoming staff. Dishes are presented with elegant touch. Very delicious and in reasonable price.

Urban escape, a hidden peal in the city, super close to Rainbow Street, with a fantastic view over the city and the Citadel, and such a lovely and natural environment. Interior design game on point! Beautiful terrace and natural decor. The food was delicious.

Absolutely gorgeous and beautiful setting. One of the best meals we've had in Amman. We went for breakfast and couldn't be more happier. They even offer variety of different types of milk for lactose intolerant people like me! Oat milk latte was the top! Date and Rose Manaqueesh was to die for!! Absolutely delicious food! Service was excellent!

I went to this place 3 times in my short stay in Amman. I think this is the best restaurant in Amman! I’ve pretty much tried 80% of the vegetarian dishes and loved all of them. My least favourite was their eggplant manaqueesh, the eggplants were too crispy. But besides that honestly this place is 10 out of 10. The staff and atmosphere are lovely! You won’t regret visiting this place!

Great menu, servers need to learn customer service better (after waiting for order, was told that their juicer is broken and the order I placed can’t be made, then asked for a half half ice cream flavour and was told it is possible, then was brought two full ice creams). Also, the place is too hot to stay open indoors in this weather. Needs better cooling. Avoid in summer!

The food was supreme and the service quick and polite. Allergies were taken seriously, they were very attentive. I would wait hours for this food - perfection takes time. There is a happy hour and they serve alcohol. A hidden gem. 40-45 JOD with 3 beers and 3 wines.

An absolutely delightful cafe tucked beneath tons of trees offering a great view over parts of the city from the terrace. This is a great place for a calm breakfast with genuinely high quality food. Their eggs and potatoes (Mfarakeh) were particularly delicious! The service is extremely friendly and they're happy to walk you through recommendations for a good meal. Their garden courtyard is also a really nice place to sit and spend some time reading and escaping the sun with some iced coffee.

Overall a good restaurant for an evening out. Good quality food , service a little patchy. Nice touch from the kitchen to offer a flat bread. The restaurant itself is very nice with a great atmosphere. I guess a little overpriced for what it offers and for Jordan.

Best veggie food I’ve eaten for a very long time. We were recommended this resturant and am so glad we made it! It was quiet on the evening we went due to the conflict in the neighbouring countries.

Amazing restaurant. Had such good food. Was with 5 friends so we split most of the menu. The decor was also so nice

One of my favorite resturants I have tried in Amman. The food is authentic but many dishes come with a modern twist on the classics. The food is not only great but the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. Will definitely be coming here again the next time I'm in Jordan!

I was really amazed by this place 😍 I went for a breakfast and the food portions were pretty decent and enough the vibes and music were smooth latin music and it was really comfortable for a very nice morning breakfast ❤️ As for the price, it was a bit expensive compared to the surrounding coffee shops but it was worth it. I highly recommend the visit. 😍👍🏻

An authentic Jordanian restaurant that we had a great experience at; the food was great and creative and the service (Abdel Salam) was excellent. We will definitely revisit it on our next trip to Jordan.

What a place!!!! A must visit for sure! Atmosphere, design, decoration, nature, service, and almost everything is perfect! A bit hot inside, but would take it for the experience. Food is great, non-standard food for sure! So if you are looking for a budget standard hummus and Falafel, then you should not come here. If you are looking for the an exceptional experience, then, this is a must try! Wish you all the best, and hope you remain open for ever, so we can come here every time we come to Amman.

Very beautiful place for brunch, unique, always with new style. Last year it was a different atmosphere and the theme. This year with lavender. Everything so classy beautiful. Food is very delicious. For a big fried potatoes fans there is an option. Highly recommend to try it. And it seems like you are eating at big villa and its garden.

I loved this place in Amman city centre! You will have to go up the hill to reach it from the main road of the old city but it's totally worth it. The place is very silent, colorful and full of plants and flowers. Some portuguese music was playing when I visited and made a relaxing atmosphere. The waiters were really nice, helped us ordering and gave us suggestions. I found this place to be perfect for expats and visitors. The food was good, we had some falafel, fried cauliflower, fried and scrambled eggs, bread, tea with sage and mint, typical bread with a mix of spices on top, and some coffee. Everything was tasty and we enjoyed our time there. Prices were a bit expensive honestly if compared to many other places we've been to. In general I do recommend it, it was a cool experience to visit this place. Enjoy it :)

So good we came back twice! The restaurant is located in a villa on a hill and has a beautiful open air seating area that is beautifully decorated and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and kind, and the food is amazing. Everything we ordered was great, but we especially loved the spicy cheese, cheese and cherry tomato jam and salads. We will recommend Shams El Balad to any friends traveling to Amman.

Okay, I'm eating in lot of restaurants in Jordania but this is the best for me, the workers, the place or the dish! Just fabulous, you have to go in this restaurant before to leave Amman!

The outdoor area is really calming and nice, i loved how all the workers are friendly and helpful and professional We ordered: Falafel 9/10 Shakshuka 10/10 Cheese and sun dried tomato manaqeesh 10/10 The place is a bit expensive for breakfast but worth it.

Good food Good vibes Service could improve I got the whipped labna and tomato scrambled eggs and they were both delicious. The eggs were a little too oily but still tasted good. The iced coffee was watered down and although I ordered it with oat milk, it was regular milk. When I said that it is dairy, they insisted it was oat milk, but I’m honestly sure it wasn’t the case. I also asked for water multiple times since I entered and the only time they got me the water was at the end when I was paying the check. The staff are nice but wasn’t happy about the overall level of service, speed and how they handled issues. Would’ve enjoyed it a lot more otherwise.

This is a must visit destination. Terrific ambiances Diversity of food & beverages (soft and hard) Prices slightly higher but reasonable comparing to the service you got Staff! Energetic, young, smiley and serve with love. You will definitely feel the team work vibes they have.

Just few streets away from animated streets, a very peaceful place. Ideal to take a rest before going back on the game. And beside that the service is awesome and the food excellent. The curent 4.2 star is a bit underated.

The exterior, if not interior, of this place is so cool. It’s hipster heaven. I loved the cauliflower fritters I ordered: moreish, hearty and more flavour than I expected. The green labneh that accompanies the dish is fine but not amazing. I really like the cheese plate I had as well. The rose caramel alfajores are AMAZING 🤩 Creamy and soft. One dish I ordered though I wasn’t a fan of: a squash-like veg. The South African white wine they have is excellent. The soundtrack they play is fabulous: I learned of a new artist through them: Aya Nakamura. The staff is friendly, speaks English and has great customer service. It’s right by the Nomads Hotel as well.
