We had a great trip with Prarit. He was very flexible and accommodated our last minute scheduling for a walking tour of Amritsar as well as the border crossing. He made us feel very welcome in his hometown and he had very good knowledge of the sights.

You must do this!!!! The highlight of our time in Amritsar! The best food tour with Prarit!!! We had one day in Amritsar and decided we wanted to do a food tour that evening. I called various companies and none could accommodate until Prarit from Walk and Explore called back and asked what time suited us to meet! We were delighted. We met about an hour later and started the tour. We went all around Amritsar to various street food markets. Prarit knew all the best spots and made sure to bring us to the hygienic places to avoid getting sick (as we are tourists). He was knowledgeable, friendly, funny and a great foodie! He customized the tour for us based on what we had already eaten. All the food, and tuk tuks were included in the price and we spent 3 hours on the tour. Absolutely worth every penny - we left completely full, fat and happy. If you want to do one thing in Amritsar this is absolutely it!!!!

Nine of us went on the tour with Prarit. Two of us had been on a tour with him before. The tour was very interesting and Prarit was able to identify historic facts which would have been missed by tourist traveling on their own. Prarit is very kind and helpful. He also helped with getting to the border ceremony. We can’t thank him enough for his hospitality.

Prarit led us on a highly memorable walking tour - one of the best we’ve done! His knowledge about Amritsar is second to none and he was so thoughtful and meticulous in his delivery and planning. He took us to places off the beaten track which we would have never known about! He also introduced some scrumptious bites on the way. He is definitely the gold standard for a walking tour. I VERY STRONGLY recommend it, and will certainly be going on all his other tours!

Had such an amazing time on this tour with Prarit! He's so informative and was able to give my parents and I an entire tour of Amritsar in just a day and a half. I learned so much about my own culture and got to see so much of the Golden Temple. Prarit does a fabulous job of showing you behind the scenes at the temple and explaining how they feed thousands of people every day. It was a privilege to have such an amazing tour guide show us around the holiest place of India. After a thorough tour of the Golden Temple we were then taken to Jallianwala Bagh where we learned in detail about the unfortunate massacre. We walked the old city and had some ice cream to cool off from the heat. We had a nice lunch break and continued to Attari station and finally the Wagha border ceremony where we got to witness the closing of the border gates and crossing of flags. We loved this day tour so much that we ended up booking another last minute village tour for the following day! Prarit took us to Gohalwar pind where we got to meet a lovely Punjabi family and tour their home. We had fresh onion pakoda and even a tasty homemade lunch with this family. The father also took us on his tractor around the farm and to my surprise even let us drive the tractor! It was a truly once in a lifetime experience. I feel so much closer to my roots after this excursion and it's all thanks to Prarit and his amazing knowledge of beautiful Amritsar. I will never forget this amazing trip!

Amazing tour! Prarit was so knowledgeable of the city and its architecture and history, we were really amazed! He showed us both the main tourist sights and also some hidden city gems that you cannot find in any travel guide on the internet. Highly recommend!

Prarit was an excellent tour guide/now friend! He was on time picking us up and did a great job answering literally any question I asked about Amritsar. The tour started with a brief history of the city at the Ranjit Singh Statue followed by a short walk to the Jallianwala Bagh. You’ll learn about the awful massacre with some very interesting facts as to the ramifications of the British General. Afterwards you’ll make your way to the majestic golden temple where you’ll get a behind the scenes for how all the food is prepared at the Langar. While you won’t stop to eat at the Langar, you won’t be missing out as you should request a trip to Kulcha Land. Kulcha Land serve the Kulcha (tasty spiced bread) with some chickpea chutney and other (pickle?). It is truly some of the most delicious food I’ve ever eaten. You’ll have plenty of time to digest and perhaps take a quick nap on the 30-40 ride to the Wagah Attari border where you’ll witness “a football match without the football.” It’s a total blast and a great way to end the day. I could not recommend this day trip more. Speak to Prarit about the heritage tour walk, it’s also a great way to learn more about the city and see some other great sights.
