If I could rate it 0/5 stars I would. I think most of the reviews that are more than 3 stars are fake. It is cheap, smelly, and dirty. The guy called 'Happy' stole my jumper and was so unbelievably creepy and disrespectful. There is a rat living in the foyer. No, there is no AC and only sometimes Hot water. Wifi drops out often. If you're a westerner, DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Do yourself a favour and stay at 'City on Pedals' instead- that is a real hostel.

This place is running just because of Raju Bhai. He has a golden heart!! He is like the big capital "H" of Hospitality. I had a great time staying here. Raju Bhai doesn't speak English though, he is not that educated but he is a gem of a person. Whenever he would see me sitting idle he would push me by saying, "aree bahar jao...gumo firo...maze karo" and then he would name me places to visit and how to reach those places. He would tell me old stories of Amritsar and we would end up talking most of the night, hahaha!! We used to talk about politics, people, movies, drugs menace in Punjab and what not... Everytime when I used to return from sightseeing he used to eagerly ask for my reviews, if I had food or not... I can go on and on about Raju Bhai... Such a humble soul. If you know Hindi or Punjabi then you are in for a treat with this guy. He would literally go beyond and above his limits to help you out. While you are staying here check out the terrace. Negatives- The room that was alloted to me had no windows (no scope for cross ventilation) we had to keep the door open, they have AC in the room not sure if it was working though. The place is in a very congested market place (Nimak Mandi) so a little difficult to find if you are coming for the first time. After travelling and sightseeing all day if you need a place just to crash then this place absolutely rocks!!

The room was big and comfortable as per the charges they took. Geyser is available. Shared bathroom and toilets. The attendent over their was really helpful. Please ask him for booking auto for your visits. The location is inside the market but golden temple is accessible on foot from their.

Very affordable place to stay, 5 minute walking distance from golden temple. Very friendly and helpful staff. Proper cleanliness was maintained.

Its ok if u want to send only night than it is ok but if u want good stay at night than choose other Hotel.

I booked a room with a fan and when I arrived I was told the room wasn’t available. I was put in a room with air conditioning and told I needed to pay extra for this… despite it not being my fault they’d overbooked?! Manager is a complete conman. The man on reception spoke no English whatsoever (thank goodness I was travelling with my Hindi speaking friend). I wouldn’t have felt safe staying here as a solo female. Room lock barely held in place and anyone could walk in off the street to the rooms.

My experience was wonderful, rooms were clean and staff was very helpful and friendly. Best place for budget travelers.

Worst place, refused to accept the booking after booking was duly made on Agoda. Weird staff

I had booked the place few days back online with advance payment. Still they had not given me any room and told me that room is full.

I saw this on internet but while searching medical shop i accidentally found it, Rajiv bhaiya is great in hosting, taking care and cracking jokes. The rooms lacks cleanliness. Rest everything was great.

It's a good place for backpackers with budget friendly stay. Kitchen is also there and we can use it.

Budget stay close to Golden temple. Washrooms and room/dorm are kept neat and clean. Locker given to store luggage safely. Sufficient enough to keep backpack. Walkable distance for all kind of shopping and food joints. Overall excellent option when travelling solo.

It's a nice and cozy place to stay. Close to many sights in the old town right within the bustling roads! It's very cheap and the owner is super friendly!

Raju Bhai... Best person I have ever met in any hospitality as an attendant. Very caring person. The person is very cool, calm and helpful. He'll help you with all nearby places to visit and eat foods. He'll also help you with Auto and tricycle to reach the bus stand, railway station and Cab Or Tom Tom to visit other places such as Attari Border, War Memorial and etc... Golden Temple is at walking distance probably at 500 metres. ASR railway station and bus stand both are at an approx 2.5 kms. Raju Bhai always asks if I have done my lunch dinner or not. He always says"are bahar aao, yaha baitho, waha ghoomne jao & khane me wo try karo and etc" He speaks Hindi, Punjabi & Pahadi languages. The room was reasonable, good and the toilet-bathroom was neat and clean. Rooms and dormitory both are available. Geyser is available and working. Wifi is available, laundry service is there. The kitchen room is there so you can prepare tea, coffee, maggi & etc..

Hostel is clean, well maintained, affordable and Raju Bhai is best at hosting guests. Had a great time.

The location is great and is just 3-3.5 kms from the railway station and golden temple and the jaliawalan bagh was just on walking distance. The staff were really friendly and helpful.On the whole, you can surely stay here if you are on a little tight budget and want to have a place for a really short stay.

Rooms were it clean, bathrooms were untidy and not comfortable. With the budget I would say it is okay. But there are other better hostels around probably 10% expensive but better facilities and rooms. Caretaker was really nice and sweet. Would like to keep in touch with him. But not booking anymore rooms here.

Best budget hotel in amritsar near golden temple. Hardly a 15 mints walk from the hotel to the golden temple. Rooms are neet and clean. if you need a rikshaw to visit all the spots nearby or for attari border just take the no of Vicky from the reception he is best for rates and experience

Great place to stay owner is very good Always available for your queries Kitchen setup , RO water purifier and cleanliness is also good. Best for those looking for budget stay and very near to golden temple and jalliyan wala bagh. Caretaker Raju is very friendly and helpful . Definitely my first priority for next time stay. You also have option for family stay room here

Wow backpackers was awesome place for me from the point view of location, accessibility and safety... It is in main market, all places were walkable and punjabi famous food were surrounded to it... Enjoyed kitchen facilities, washrooms are good, team is very supportive and management is very good.. thank you Vicki for your help.. worth going for simple and basic amenities requirements even for family rooms.

Dormitory (hostels) is very affordable and the manager is also friendly. 5 star service. Also Golden Temple is just 700m walking distance from here..
