Unremarkable hotel with terrible service! I’m not sure how this is considered a 5 star hotel. The rooms were okay and smelled great but the shower flooded the entire bathroom every time we took a shower. The lobby was constantly packed with random luggage and people (many of whom were seemingly not guests at the hotel). The elevator had to have been the absolute slowest elevator I have ever used and constantly skipped our floor when called. Above all, however, was the rude and condescending attitude from the receptionists. They refused to give us our passports when we needed them to go out and explore the city, and generally had a hostile and nasty demeanor when we interacted with them. The location of the hotel is amazing and the views form the 7th floor cafe are great! However, major customer service training is required of their staff before I would consider giving them higher than a 2 star rating. The staff of a hotel is the heart and soul of the institution, and this one is less than ideal.

The rooms are nice but small, the elevator are always busy where you have to wait for long time most of the time to get on the elevator. The restaurant on the basment is very nice and large, with a huge buffet, but some time the food was either cold or tasteless. It's very close to the Haram of Immam Ali, about 3 minutes.

This is the Best Hotel in Najaf, located right on the doorstep of the Haram. Has huge Rooms with Haram view. It has rooms for 2 people to 5 people. The ambience is super and the breakfast as well. The staff is very helpful as well. All in all the best place to stay.

A great hotel. Went at the busiest time of Arbaeen, so can excuse the hecticness. Great hotel, awesome 7th floor Cafe, fantastic food options. Only gripe is room ad-hoc room cleaning. Would definitely choose this over all others in Najaf. (Pictures are views of the Haram Shareef from the hotel)

Excellent hotel literally the last hotel before the haram entrance. Staff don't do much, front desk people are useless and arrogant like most other places in Iraq and don't speak a word of anything other than Arabic! There is no house keeping also in line with the Iraqi norm and they only clean the room when you checkout. The food here is very good, though they never put the name of the dish next to it so good luck figuring out what you are eating. The street leading up to the hotel is busy and filled with people most of the time and depending upon the driver/car guests may need to walk around 10 mins to get to the entrance.

Great hotel right by the shrine and the soug. The hotel is very nice and modern and the staff is professional. 1-Bottled water is provided everywhere here in fridges in the lobby, inside the rooms, in the pathways. Nothing like the shabby western hotels. 2- The food is spectacular for a hotel buffet. They offer buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with diverse and delicious Iraqi food and various drinks. 3- The hotel feels humble and unpretentious while providing everything you need. 4- There are too many elevators. 5- Very close to the holy shrine, I don't believe you can get any closer. 6- The AC works well (very important for summer time). I- The major inconvenience is that it is hard to reach both by foot (b/c inspection points) and by car (there is no road leading directly to it), so be mindful of that and try not to bring too many bags. II- the water pressure is disappointing.

Great great location!! 2-3min walk to inside Imam Ali(as) shrine. We been here few times. Love staying here. Peaceful and the view is breathtaking. From restaurants you can see Gumbaaz Imam Ali(as). Customer service is great.

The location is the best in Najaf, as it's just at the checking point of the Haram. Rooms are good, washrooms clean. Breakfast is buffet and has many options. The charges are on the higher side as they charged us USD 55 per person with room and breakfast. Should have been lesser. Overall an excellent hotel.

This hotel is such a nice hotel, you get a clear beautiful view of the shrine of imam Ali and the room and service is good, the food is also there is a wide selection of food and I like how there is a pretty bird in the food room however the only annoying thing is the lifts they take so long to come especially when you were on one of the upper floors

The location was best, only 10 min walk to Holy Shrine. They had no room service during guests staying in the hotel until check out, but we called a few times to change bed sheets and bring some toilet paper and etc. They had an excellent buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which we really miss it. Definitely, we will go back there. Thansk to their staff for all services, and Allah bless all.

It’s been 5 years since my last travels abroad, excited and nervous to see how Najaf has changed. The hotel location is excellent, next to the harram’s security entrance currency exchange outside the main entrance and just steps away from the bazaars. Accommodations were acceptable by US standards, large room easily accommodated family of four with plenty of room to walk around. Food choice was impressive, but perhaps lacked in flavor at times. However their service and dessert choices more than made up the shortfall. Catering to many, sometimes it is what it is. I gave them five stars what they offered is amazing, would have been four if I compared it to the hotel in Karbala, but that wouldn’t be fair to this group.

One of the best hotels in Najaf located at footsteps of shrine of Imam Ali علیہ السلام Rooms are neat and clean with good froendly and cooperative staff. Food served during buffets in all meals is of really good quality. Highly recommended for the religious pilgrims visiting Najaf e Ashraf and Holy Shrine of Imam Ali علیہ السلام.

If you live in the West and are visiting during the cooler months December-February, please consider bringing a small fan or arranging for a pedestal fan because this place has central heating with no option to turn it off in your room. So if you prefer to sleep at the medically recommended room temperature of 18-20 degrees celsius, you will have sleepless nights due to hot and humid conditions in the room, even with the window open! This big, 5 star hotel has ZERO pedestal or desk fans for individual use and that's a shame!

Excellent Location, outstanding open buffet food. Due to the fact that there are always a lot of visitors, the reciption workers are not very cooperative. The elevators are slow and people have to wait for long time to board them.

Its sad that the Hotel maybe gave up the humanity for money! The coffee shop has the best view to the holy shrine but the tables and couches are so bad placed and low that you cant even see the holy shrine, only if you stand up you can see the holy shrine. We were there at the night of death of Imam Ali and in the coffeeshop people were listening to music and smoking and fully disrespecting towards the imam and the holy shrine!!! On the 11th flour were carpets on the floor for worshiping with the best view to the holy shrine but it was closed due „working and redecorating“ but they never did any work there… If you plan to go for a trip to visit the holy shrine only for the love of imam Ali, this place is really near to the shrine but the amount of disrespect from the hotel may break your heart as it broke mine.

Qasr Al Dur hotel is a good choice. It's at the entrance of the Ziarah. You can have a view of shrines from the window of your rooms. You can have a lavish and laxorious stay at this hotel during your stay for ziarah in Karbala. Their rooms are wide and clean. Food is perfect. And the food variety is awesome. The staff of the hotel is well trained, professional and cooperative with the guests. You can have a buffet as well. The atmosphere is clean and good. You can have good sitting places as well. Overall the hotel is good. A bit expensive but value for money. Its the nearest lavish living option near the shrine.

I had a wonderful stay at the Qasr Al Dur hotel. The hotel was very well-maintained and incredibly clean. The breakfast and lunch offered at the hotel were absolutely delicious. The variety of options available satisfied all of my cravings and dietary preferences. The food was fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. The staff at the restaurant were attentive and ensured that my dining experience was enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend the Qasr Al Dur hotel. Syed Tajammul Raza (Canada)

Location is excellent.. at security entrance gate of Haram.. very convenient location.. Food is good and reasonable variety.. Since the hotel is huge with many rooms the activities at the main lobby and dinning area is very intense and crowded.. Overall the experience is good with me.. All the best to Zawwars..

A few feet away from the shrine of Imam Ali (as). The hotel is constantly kept cleaned. The staff was overall friendly and exhibited excellent customer service, especially the front desk. Ali and Laith worked the night shift and were most helpful. The buffet was ok. It was located in the basement, no views, food was mediocre and staff was curt. Food was warm. The inly benefit of eating here was convenience. 7th floor restaurant views were exceptional with full view of Imam Ali (as) shrine. The food was ok. The staff was curt. Smoking is allowed, so beware if you have allergies. Transportation is not normally available to the front door of the hotel. They do have golf carts that go back and forth from the main gate to the hotel, but the extra cost for the “Shrine car” is well worth it, because it drops you at the front door.

Very nice hotel. Great food choices and helpful staff. Always an English speaking person at desk and everyone is helpful. Issued fixed within hours. Kind and courteous staff. Very professional. Near shrine. Use their taxi services for closer drop off or pick up as they have great links. Helped us exchange money, buy groceries and pick up luggage which was delayed by airline.

The breakfast was wonderful as was almost everything else. 3 stars because the hotel was not heated even though temperatures outside dropped to 3 degrees Celsius. The heating option in the rooms was also disabled. When we requested the temperature be increased, we were offered more blankets. Had to sleep in multiple layers and sweaters. Would have been an easy 5 stars if not for this. The proximity to Moulana Ali A.S. haram is also a very big plus.

Clean and professional hotel along with amazing customer service. Hotel definitely stands out from the rest. Located within 30 steps of the haram. Meaning very close and convenient. Meals accommodated for wide range audience. Over 30 dishes prepared every meal. Can’t fault the workers or hotel. Rooms were provided with clean packed towels, toiletries, hair dryer and coffee/tea facilities. Safe and fridge also provided. On-site you can find male barbers and money exchange.

I spent one night here with my family and it was excellent. The place was clean and cool. The rooms were stocked with plenty of cold water bottles, towels and bathroom supplies. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast buffet was packed with delicious Iraqi style foods. The lunch buffet is about $17usd per person, but worth every penny. And it's only 2 minutes walk from the Imam Ali holy shrine. Highly recommended

The service was not as great as previous years. The buffet food quality has declined over the years. The big plus is the location of the hotel and it's closeness to Haram Hazrat Amir

Excellent hotel to stay in Najaf. Can easily compare with any other 5 star hotels in World. This is our 2nd stay in this hotel. Simply love it. Location as well as service is exceptional. Dinning is good, used to be on 7th floor in past so you could view the shrine but now is underground. Still amazing, comfortable beds & Air conditioner helps the 40+ deg C temp outside. I think a more powerful wifi will certainly help as current wifi speed is not good. Also no access to hotel via vehicles due to proximity to holy shrine which could cause some inconvenience in carrying luggage to & from taxi or car. There should be a service for this from hotel which will help international travellers particularly. Thank you so much.

Best hotel. Very clean and fragrant all the time. Staff is very cooperative and helpful. Food is very tasty and cutlery clean n hygienic. Not to forget, I met a pet parrot that is kept on the first floor by a barber shop. It was the cutest and interactive parrot that would talk to you for hours. Also the dinning hall ambience is enhanced by the little chirping birds that soothe one’s nerves. Unlike other hotel that put on music!
