This place is a lot of fun! I love the ambience and the vibes that go with this place. The food is amazing as well as the service. I definitely want to come back here. It has a happy atmosphere. I ordered the hamburger and sweet potato fries. My wife had the Pork Gyoza that she really enjoyed. We also shared a sea monster embrace that is made for two people to drink! I highly recommend coming here because it is a hidden gem.

Loved it here. As others mentioned the menu is kind of limited, but the plates are great and come out pretty quick considering how busy they are. I made reservations but I believe they do take walk ups with a wait time. Our server was so friendly and nice. She made sure our experience was perfect. The drinks are strong, so my second was a non alcoholic drink (still good and fresh!). Would be back again.

What a lovely little place. I've been here before but never left a review. Trader Sam's is just so enchanting. The effects are super cute and the drinks are awesome. They offer collectible mugs with some drinks I try to get one every visit. The food has changed a bit since the last time I was here. We did the long beans which was there before and are still super yummy. But I also did the dish with rice and strips of pork belly it was so good. I highly recommend trying to plan a visit to this cute place at least one evening or afternoon of your trip well worth it.

Trader Sam’s has seriously gotten an upgrade since the last time I came here when I turned 21. They have a much bigger seating area and the drinks have also gotten a bit more expensive. One of my favorite things is that they now do the to-go option for alcohol but just keep in mind that you still can’t walk around with it in downtown Disney, just the hotel area. Still, it’s a nice approach. I purchased my favorite piranha pool and the flavor was very much still there. Keep an eye out for the incoming headache from the sugar overload, though! I ordered the Panko-crusted string beans but felt a little underwhelmed as I barely got to taste the string bean itself as the breading was far too thick. The sauce, on the other hand, was delicious. This is a perfect, shareable plate if you’re out with a couple friends. Lastly, DOLE WHIP IS SERVED HERE! You no longer need to go to the park to get your dole whip fix. Now who could resist that?!

Super cool place with delicious food! I like how you have a choice to buy the cocktail mugs or not, so the drinks weren't super expensive. The cocktails were a little stronger than I was expecting but still delicious. I recommend getting there before the dinner rush at 6-7pm. We were told the wait would be around 2 hours, but luckily we only waited a few minutes for the outside table. The live music outside was also pretty great! Drinks (clockwise): Piranha Pool, Krakatoa Punch, Skipper Slipper Foods: Gyoza, Hawaiian Platter, Panko-Crusted Long Beans

The original - this place is an absolute must: the cocktails are great fun, the atmosphere is like no other bar, and if you don't walk away tipsy on rum and with a huge smile on your face I'd guess that you don't have a heart! Definitely get yourself a tiki mug as a souvenir - some are limited editions!

Super cute tiki bar in the Disneyland hotel. I waited a while to finally come here and it was worth it. We found a table easily for a Sunday afternoon. It was great for people watching and I would recommend sitting at the bar. Drinks can and will make the room rain and cause a volcano to erupt. Decently priced (about $15 and up.. depends if you get a souvenir cup) and great tasting drinks (not too sweet). Later hop on the monorail back to Disneyland. It's is what I expected from a Disney bar. I did miss the birds from the enchanted tiki room.

Disappointed. Spending $1000 a night to stay at the resort, and the bar charged me $22.09 for a Pina colada and 1 draft beer. Insane. Don't believe I will recommend this place to my friends.

Place is pretty cool inside..overall had a good experience minus the few moments of being dissatisfied but we're quickly & courtesy resolved Hawaiian ribs sauce is edible extremely salty might as well lick a salt block of how bad it is. Chicken wings on the other hand. Delicious tasty moist crispy to drinks. Also good except one that was pretty bland overall it was fun. The atmosphere was nice inside the Tiki lounge would definitely go back our waitress. Janet was awesome and the manager Lola also outstanding. Thank you both for making our first adventure there. A fun one!

Amazing experience. Place is tiny though; at least inside. And you want to be inside for the actual experience. Outside dining and drinks just isn’t anywhere near the same. Half the drinks also have the option of buying the glass which include things like a rum barrel, shrunken skull, tiki, fortress, etc. Food was surprising above expectations. Regular Disney pass holders for years who are familiar with all the food establishments. Book early. Arrive early. Except to wait a bit. You’re only allowed to stay for 90 min to enjoy your experience

I was very hungry after travelling all day to attend my work conference at the Disneyland Hotel. The front desk mentioned their only onsite restaurant was Trader Sam's and it might worth checking out instead of heading to downtown Disney. I didn't have a reservation but they were able to get me in to the bar. I think that was lucky because on subsequent days they were booked every time. I'd recommend downloading the Disney app to get a reservation in the future rather than trying blind luck like I did. The bar itself isn't very large but the tiki atmosphere is quite fun. There is so much detail with a plethora of knick nacks on the walls and ceilings that you will likely see something you missed if you stare at the same spot twice. The menu is the same as the outdoor seating/grab and go area. However when you sit in here you feel like you are in a magic tiki island hut, with wonderful AC I might add. Also, during your meal the servers will act/interact with you. Like there was a hurricane and volcano eruption while I was there. One of the servers had a small spray bottle they would squirt into the air as to mimic us getting rained. Definitely some Disney magical fun going on here. The food is tasty and probably the best I had on my stay. Downtown Disney had some good options but I didn't feel they were as fresh or tasty as Trader Sam's. It isn't michelin star quality but good enough I ate here twice. I recommend the Salmon Ahi Bowl. Good sized portion and fairly priced for a resort. Overall it was a fun place to get a bite and take a break from the crazy covid world.

Stopped here for a drink to take a break from the Disney parks and relax a bit. This is located on the Disney Resort side so you would walk all the way through downtown Disney and through security to get here. When we arrived it was pretty busy, so we were on the hunt for a table. In the bar area, it was first come first serve. We waited about 20 mins before being able to scoop up a table. Our server was really nice. We ordered a round of drinks, all standard drinks and of course we tried the spiked dole whip float drink. That drink was pretty yummy and refreshing. I ordered a regular mojito but was brought the specialty one off the menu which had a berry flavor (didn't like). The waitress was super nice and apologized for the wrong order and fixed immediately. Service was great, but slow (bar area). Would come back here again. The decor was cool and the tiki torches added a nice touch to he vibe.

Best Tiki theme on the west coast. The cast members make it super fun. Great drinks and food make it worth the price.

Menu is tiny. I settled on the burger which was well below average (dry, bland, overcooked). Wouldnt substitute macaroni salad for rice. Kids menu has 2 items (which is ridiculous for being at Disneyland). I asked for some aioli to put on the burger which we were charged $1.50 for. Service was very poor. Maybe this is a good place if you're only getting drinks? Regardless, it's a terrible place for food.

A must stop if you're looking very strong drinks in a fun setting! Ask for the one made with 151 proof rum. Safari Swizzle. Holiday drinks this year. Gin-ger Snaps, Jingle all the way and Pepermint Barks.

I couldn't foresee giving this place less than 5 stars. My boyfriend insisted I give 5 stars as well. I got the 1/3 pound burger, and some Pirahna "___" drink. Very reasonable prices. Just pass on the collector mug. That made one drink $37.00! Seriously, pass on that. Otherwise, great atmosphere, big - juicy hot dogs, and messy burgers.

Pro: Great decor as only the Disney bucks and Imagineering staff can provide. Cons: Crowded. Little kids taking up seats and running around. Strollers. Tourists in mouse ears surfing Facebook on their iPhones. Did I mention crowded? Food was good in taste, but came pre-prepared in boxes. Drinks were good, but served in a nondescript, plain glass...unless you ordered the souvenir mug which they were out of. If you’re going to Disneyland, go ahead and check it out. If you’re looking for a grown up Tiki bar experience (like Adrift in Denver, False Idol in San Diego, or Forbidden Island in Alameda) be advised Trader Sam’s is frustrating because it looks so cool, but has no soul.

Very fun! When I asked for a table, (about 3:45 on a Saturday afternoon) the host said the wait to sit inside could be 2 hours. They text when a table is ready, and you must return within 10 minutes. I'm glad I decided to put my name in! We received our text in about 45 minutes, and had no problem returning in time from our room in the hotel. It is much smaller inside than I thought it would be, but just as I had heard about, the atmosphere was super fun!! Ordering certain drinks causes reactions in the bar -"The Shipwreck" causes a lightning effect, a ship in a bottle sinks, and the bartender sprays everyone with water. "The Krakatoa" makes the lights flash, the volcano erupts, and more water is sprayed. Super fun assuming you are up for a little silliness. The food was very good. We loved the fried long beans in the pu pu platter. My husband said the burger was the best burger he had the entire trip. The tiki drinks were delicious and very strong. They had a few non alcoholic drinks, which my teens loved. Highly recommend for adults and older kids.

Food was pretty good, standard issue park/hotel food but no complaints. Had a couple vegetarian/vegan options! The best part is just the atmosphere and drinks, the piranha pool is the best one in my opinion, we also got the hippopotomai-tai but it wasn't as impressive.

A secret little hideaway that feels like you are in Disneyland without the Disney cost 😉 we finally bit the bullet and ordered our drinks with the souvenir cups for only $45 a piece 🥲 they are really good quality though and since we didn’t pay for Disney tickets it felt worth it! Fun fact that I discovered on our most recent trip is that you can actually order an “adult Dole Whip”. A rum drink topped with good ol Dole Whip. Highly recommend. The atmosphere is what you pay for here. The staff is great and the random little shows when you order certain drinks make it a blast!

Great place. Came to eat with family. Food was delicious. I had tried the pork belly. Fire at night was great. Ljve music was also cool to have. Known mostly for their drinks. Limited food if you plan to eat here so be aware. Also they don't cover Downtown disney parking.

Such a beautiful restaurant right next to the pool at Disneyland Hotel. Alisha was our server and she made us feel so welcome 🤗 She provided us with excellent customer service. Loved her personality!!! ❤️ She’s so down to earth, welcoming and friendly. My family and I loved that about her. She also went out of her way to pack our souvenir mugs. Which was so freaking awesome of her to do! She deserves employee of the year!!! Please acknowledge her work ethics! Will definitely return because of Alisha! Also, The food was hella good and the cocktails were amazing!!! 😄 Shoutout to the cooks and bartenders! Thank you again Alisha!!!

I had no idea this establishment was located at the Disneyland hotel wish I had known that ahead of time. My husband and I didn't have our children with us so we wanted to do an Adults Only outing and we ended up at a place with lots of kids🤦🏻‍♀️ My bad for not doing the research. Drinks were definitely better than the food. We dined outside but had our last drink inside which is the better choice option between the two. The decor inside was pretty cool reminded me of the Love Boat tiki bar on the ship.

Great little spot to grab a bite to eat, get a few cocktails and catch some wonderful music while enjoying the island decor. Sit under the tiki torches and enjoy a cool Disney Jungle Cruise inspired atmosphere. Prices are Disney high, but it’s a great spot nonetheless. Grab a Dole Whip w or without booze and enjoy!

Great place to hang out with the family and have some food. We were guests at the Disneyland Hotel and ordered some Ramen, the chicken dish, a rum drink, and a tasty sangria. Service was excellent and we are definitely going to revisit!

Tiki Bar's Exceptional Service: I recently visited the Tiki Bar in Disney and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the drinks were top-notch. However, what really made my experience memorable was the outstanding service provided by our waitress Jessica. She was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great time. Not only did Jessica recommend some delicious drinks and menu items, but she also took the time to chat with us and make us feel like valued customers. Her positive energy and enthusiasm were infectious, and she truly made our visit to the Tiki Bar unforgettable. Overall, I highly recommend the Tiki Bar in Disney, and I can't say enough good things about Jessica. If you're looking for a fun and lively atmosphere with exceptional service, this is the place to be. Thank you, Jessica and the Tiki Bar team, for an amazing experience!

We are here every other weekend and absolutely love everything about Trader Sam’s. Great drinks prepared by amazing staff of skippers (bartenders). Always a top notch experience.

  • 3/5 Jared 10 months ago on Google
Cocktails are pricy. Staff take a long time to take your order and the food is okay but not worth the price. If you park in downtown Disney you cannot comp parking here !

  • 5/5 Lorin D. 2 years ago on Google
Trader Sam's is the best bar experience at the whole Disneyland Resort. It will have a walk-up wait-list time (usually 30-40 ish minutes) but it's an experience unlike any other. From the interactive drink menu (I won't spoil it but ordering some menu items trigger in-restaurant effects) to the expertly knowledgeable bartenders, you'll love every minute of the (Max of 90min.) experience. Looking for ordering tips? Try the Hippopoto-Mai Tai and the Pu pu Platter. The wings are amazing!

  • 4/5 Francisco Ruiz J. 10 months ago on Google
Food was okay but the drinks and atmosphere were amazing. Drinks on the menu don't have a price but they cost around $20 a drink. But if you want the drink and take home a Souvenir cup it's $50 with the drink. Just keep that in mind. Also they do accept walk ups with 2 or 4 ppl but if you have a bigger party call in advance and reserve

Have to order the origional Zombie 34...super strong. The new version is good but the origional is POWERFUL. Service was excellent, fun atmosphere. My friend left his credit card at the outside bar and when Shirley saw him, she put the card on ice in a bowl as a joke. I actually enjoyed this on better than the one in Orlando.

  • 4/5 Zachary R. 6 months ago on Google
Long wait but expected for a restaurant like this - our wait was shorter than quoted. Service was a bit slow but the atmosphere has so much to look at - worth spending some time hanging out. Prices are normal for a themed restaurant in this area, the ramen was very tasty!

  • 5/5 Chris T. 5 months ago on Google
Got the hawaiian burger with sweet potato fries, it was bomb! The service was great! Everytime someone bought a certain specialty drink they made a little show of it, the scene would change. It was really cool experience. The drink Skipper sipper was really good, refreshing.

Always a nice spot if you're into tiki-pop. Its all round very modern and clean and the food is awesome! The tiki mugs, well, I don't drink but I collect mugs so me paying for a mug WITH a drink that I don't drink is kinda janky, but it is what it is on that end. Otherwise, awesome chill spot to get your tiki on!

  • 4/5 Jay R. 8 months ago on Google
Atmosphere inside is pretty nice. Outside not that bad either. You won't get a chance to get seated inside if you make reservations through the app. You got to walk up and put your name on the waiting list. That's what the worker told me. Food is good and the alcoholic drinks were good and strong. Drinks start from $18 I believe and go up. Limit 2 drinks per person. 4 stars cause its very overpriced but it's Disneyland so what do you expect. Also kids are not allowed inside after a certain time but if you get seated outside they allow it.

  • 5/5 Sabrina M. 5 months ago on Google
This place is worth the hype! And if you want to sit inside you have to make a reservation through the Disneyland App. I did it 60 days in advance and had to try a couple of days before securing the reservation. I got the Piranha pool drink which was really good. My husband and I both had the Wagyu Hawaiian burger and it was delicious! I would say service could have been a little quicker but understanding it was busy so it is expected. Certain drinks will make the restaurant change, try ordering the Uh-Oa! (It's big enough to share)

Great atmosphere and close to the park and a lot of resorts! They have an option for pretty much anyone, including some fun souvenir glasses and things! It can get pretty busy, so maybe make a reservation? They have outdoor heaters and outdoor fires as well for those cold days!

Depending on when you go, the line can be insane and this place is packed, or it can be quite empty. I've found that on the weekends (fri/sat) before midnight, this place is usually swarming with people and it takes forever to get in.

Absolutely love this place. The drinks are great and a reasonable price, as is the food. The servers are really nice as well. Be forewarned it's always busy here; don't expect to find a table , or seats, right away; at least not inside. There's a large outside patio as well if you don't mind sitting outside. It's also always loud inside, but it's awesome.

Great location near pool and hotel. The ahi poke is decent but the ahi itself could use either some more soy sauce or seasoning as it didn't balance well against the avocado. Not great but not horrible either.

Great atmosphere and drinks. The special effects (erupting volcano, storms, shipwreck, etc) are all fun but not overdone, the bartenders are excellent, and there are some cool (if pricey) souvenir mugs available. And be sure to look for the original Indiana Jones whip tucked out of the way on the wall!

Every time is a winner. Drinks are always spot on and delicious. Still wish seating was easier instead of feeling like a stalker/hawk. Florida has us beat on seating. But I still prefer ours. My favorite drink might be the Krakatoa. Enjoy!

  • 5/5 Jazmine S. 4 years ago on Google
I was rather upset because I couldnt find a place that I liked in downtown Disney. When I arrived to Trader Sam's the service from Melissa and Joey was fantastic. They took care of us quickly. As soon as I took a bite of the ramen I felt like I was back in Okinawa.

Great spot to chill while park hopping! The inside has amazing decor and if you're lucky enough to to get a seat inside the bartenders to do some pretty impressive ticks! We ordered the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki rum (yes, 5 tikis) and it was a delightful cold treat sprinkled with cinnamon.

Great ambiance inside or out. Disney Magic in full gear here. Fairly priced food. Drinks a tad expensive but worth it for a special trip. A MUST every time we are here.

  • 5/5 Chris H. 4 years ago on Google
There is a "Quick Service" register on the North Side. There you can order your items and have food delivered to your table. This is a great affordable option for the Disneyland Hotel. You will also likely catch cast members and executives looking for seats.

  • 3/5 Tony M. 4 years ago on Google
The Disney prices were ok and the service was great. The downside was the Sangria seemed alcohol-less and I couldn't taste any bananas in the daiquiri. The line was way too long to take the daiquiri back :/. 25 dollars for soso drinks
