Jo Won Noodle House

Restaurant Chinese restaurant

👍👍 Authentic Chinese food! Finally, a real place in Orange County. I got the Mongolian Beef, pan-fried dumplings, and egg flower soup. So delicious and cooked with woks hot enough to get the true Chinese flavors to shine. I’ll definitely be back here again and again. People often mention good, Chinese, fried, chicken,

A hidden gem in OC! Even though their plating is not good enough (which is why I gave only 4 stars) but if you're looking for some home-style Korean-Chinese food, this place could be a good fit. The taste is really clean and good. Instead of using white bleached flour, their noodle is handmade and made of black bean powder. They don't seem to add MSG, either. The most important thing is the owner chef is cooking, not employees. During pandemic, I've seen a lot of good restaurants ended up hiring trainee level employees, let them cook without any main chef because of the skyrocketing labor cost and grocery market price, which mostly lead to quality deterioration. If you prefer greasy, sweet or strong taste, this place might not be the right one for you, though.

A disaster. The waitress who I assume is one of the owners recommended the family style lemon and chicken for me and my wife. But when we tried to order it she said we would to have buy two orders even though she said the one order would be enough for us. She also said the restaurant doesn't have lunch specials even though it clearly advertised as such from the picture below. So confusing and disappointing!

This place is pretty darn good! Portions are family size, big and great for sharing. Came here with my brother for dinner and we had the black bean noodle, fried dumplings and fried chicken with hot sauce. Highlight of the night, the fried dumpling! Golden, crispy, juicy, hot, fresh...I would come back again just to eat that! By the way the dumpling size it is like 5 inches stuffed full with meat. The waitress is this enthusiastic nice old lady, she was really kicking it to gear and delivering out the food with a quickness that tells you she has experience. She also switched between Korean and Chinese depending on her customer, impressive. New place that took over the chicken pie shop. A few cons, there were tiny fruit flies around the table and it is a bit dim but if the food and service are good I am coming back!

After living right down the street from this place for a few months me and roomies finally tried it and I wish we would have come sooner. Excellent food. A bit pricy but the the portions are huge so it is well worth it. It was so hard to pick off their extensive menu but we decided on combo egg fu young, mapo tofu, black bean noodles, house fried rice and garlic shrimp. All so good. But more than the food, the hottest made us feel right at home. She really made the meal feel special for us. We are definitely going to go back because there is so much more food to try.

Very tasty restaurant. The food is a very specific type of Chinese food. The food is Korean-Chinese, or, more specifically, food developed by Chinese immigrants to Korea. I loved the JjamBbong noodles and the yangjangpi. Both are spicy in different ways but both are delicious. The fried pot stickers are gigantic and most love them. They were a bit too heavy for us.

My rating is based off of taste and quality. You won't get disappointed. Been here a couple times already. Everything you order is freshly made. Totally worth the wait.

The food is exactly what you expect for Korean-Chinese cuisine. Depending on how busy they are, the wait times for food to come out after you order can be long but the quality is good so it's not a problem. If you're in a rush don't come during peak hours.

Tired, in the sweltering Californian heat thought of settling into a nice warm soup, so decided to try this place because of the beautiful branding on the windows. We were welcomed by a friendly staff member, who rushed apologizing profusely for the discarded plates on the tables. We’re shown a hideous looking menu which was not appetizing at all. We settled for a spicy chicken and a vegetable plate. The chicken was tangy and the vegetable dish was over loaded some kind of sauce and the liquid dripping. The condiments were equally bad. But the service was exquisite and great.

Great food with great service. The owner and chef are very proud of their food and they should. Korean style chinesr food is also pretty good. They would not try to cook it easy way and put effot on every dish they serve. Great Restaurant!

The food was fantastic! Every item we ordered had it's own distinct flavor. There was a large tradition 1st birthday going on while we were there, but were treated like we were the only ones there and we were a party of nine. I will continue to frequent their establishment when I'm in town!
